I'm so sad this guy was nominated for the golden toilet since he isn't unique for simic. I love this guy!! He is so fun to play since he gives so much advantage for playing lands (Also can u do a surgeon commander one next)
This was such a great video! Beginner player here and I’ve learned so much from you bro. Totally watching your videos from now on for any advice! Thanks again!
Honestly I'd say the meanest Aesi strat to take advantage of is the deck filtering aspect. Just get some fetch lands and cards like crucible of worlds, ramunap excavator, or ancient greenwarden which also allows for double landfall triggers (useful later) to play as many lands as possible each turn plus you get each trigger twice with both the fetch and the land it gets entering. If you use card doublers like Teferi's ageless insight, thought reflection, and Alhamaret's archive in tandem with redundant/copy cards like Sakishima, double major, Tatyova, horn of greed, and spark double you can just draw your deck and win with lab man, Jace, or thasa's oracle.
I believe my deck list is a big mix of strong and mean. Running ancient greenwarden and lotus cobra. Then use scapeshift to get double ETB triggers off cobra and my commander fill my hand with cards and use all the mana from cobra to drop omniscience to cast all the cards I pile into my hand. My pod just scoops everytime
This guy with ruin crab, Teferis insight, teferi master of time, azusa and that new sphinx from commander legends gets disgusting real quick. Lands draw and mill for days. Play reshape the earth, drop 10 lands, make em mill 30 and that's a wrap
Play horn of greed tatyova Aesi and other draw spells. Also Azusa and wayward sword tooth go good. Reshape the earth and boundless realms are musts and pretty much anything that makes mana. Ashnods altar goes good if you play scute swarm. That’ll give you two win cons if you play thassas oracle and lab maniac. Search lands are pretty important too because they’re 2 landfalls per drop. you can essentially be getting 8-9 landfalls a turn if you play appropriate ramp spells paired with the 3 cards I first mentioned. As soon as you cast reshape the earth it’s pretty much done. Especially if you have amulet of vigor. (You’re drawing so much it won’t take long to find it)
Still optimizing my Gyruda/Gigan theft/clone deck and now they drop this bombshell. Sea themed decks are my favorite decks so definitely going to pick this one up. Keep up the good work, you guys are consistently putting out great videos.
yeah - I honestly was originally planning to include that but I felt like since this is a precon commander I wanted to keep it simple and hope that people would come across that as an infinite combo for further upgrades
yeah, you weren't the only one to point that out - I tried to keep this three ways to build a little more straightforward, as it's a precon commander. I thought that if we included that, people might find that infinite on their own. Thanks for watching!
Originally built an Aesi deck, realized it was a bit too mean/strong for my playgroup, broke it down and put it away...then a player in my playgroup started playing dinos as hard core as possible. I brought out Aesi and beat him. We are no longer playing for fun. We are all playing to win.
I feel like if you want a simic landfall just get tatoyva it’s the same just a mana cheaper you can’t play extra lands with her but do you really need to invest the 1 more to have another creature that says you may play extra lands honestly people should just build this the fun way as sea creature tribal
If you do the risen reef, scutte swarm, parcelbeast combo, Aesi is def worth it. Play two fetch lands in one turn and boom, you'll probably draw your entire deck
@@hoseadowning2814 yup, I think I run like scout, atlas, and skyshroud ranger in the deck. They're all fantastic for the deck in general and a combo piece when you can get coralhelm out.
So becomes you can draw a lot, and I mean a lot if you get some more cards that can copy aesi, and end up running say I don't know.... Tezzeret, Cruel Machinist since his -7 can put any number of cards in you hand onto the field as 5/5 artifact creatures. Just run some stuff that eliminates your hand size( they're some that come with the deck itself) you can quite little flood the field. Only down side with my deck is that its kinda slow, but you can get things running turn 5 or 6 usually, 3 or 4 if you're lucky.
I wouldn’t say retreat to choralhiem is nessciarly a strong only choice, since scout and others that can tap to put a land into play is dangerous for commanders like aesi, and tatyova. Having an ability to draw cards on a commander off of land fall and have it be redundant, now makes simic even more dangerous. Since there is a huge possibility that you’re able to draw the deck with multiple land falls that come From the same turn
Does this work? Like it's a legit thing? My friend did it while playing me and I thought surely that can't be right. But just went with it cuz magic does have some pretty messed up mechanics lol
My favorite way that i built aesi was a deck out build where you try to make token copies of aesi and continue doing so or play into control with frozen aetherand silent arbiter
It would be funny to make a strong/fun/mean with both the rabbit and turtle commander, could be thematic and comparative with uses for fast and slow strategies😃
If I have two lands to play on my turn, does that mean I draw TWO cards (one for each land played) or does Aesi only allow one card draw per round of putting lands down?
