#aespa #aespaarmageddon Since the "Big 3 GG Dance Ranking" video I have changed my mind on aespa - they are all a bit better than I initially thought. Armageddon choreographer: Renan
I also recommend watching Jessica Holyfield's video on the choreo for a detailed analysis, it made me realise there are actually even more wave variations when paying attention to the dancers! Is there any particular section for which you want to see a ranking short?
@@chairmanrosethewisegentleman Finally! Somebody who notices her improvement was since drama. I think she improved from spicy, got better in drama and became very good in Armageddon
@@chairmanrosethewisegentleman I beg to differ, she better in angle based choreographies like Savage, the reason why she looks weaker is because of the pops it needs, she arguably does the Savage chorus part the best (keyword:arguably)
@@youtubeisntallowingmetocom9062 Yes... She got some good parts but the problem is actually her timing.. in Girls Choreo that the have to stand in one foot and balance themselves... she littlw bit out of tempo. Also in sqvage at the tzu2x2 parts little bit late. Buta not really a major mistakes at all.
@@chairmanrosethewisegentleman let me also add her dance break part in Girls where they have to spin their arms and have good leg and arm angles, she's weak at that too, but she improved in later performances, Aespa choreo seems to be made just for them to improve slowly
I was watching the Armageddon dance practice & was perplexed by Ningning. She wasn’t getting the accent in the chorus like Karina & Winter but she was devouring like every other section in terms of space & big movements. One thing about her is she’s gonna give full out dancing!
After the Aespa and NewJeans dance challenge I realized how good Aespa is. It is just girl groups from SM and YG prioritize singing and take it into consideration when creating choreographies. I would love to see like that by babymonster dance analysis
@@tree9273 and ysah they are really making an effort with this neq influence, you know you can make more improvement if you had the right lesson or influence
This is one of the most unique choreographies I’ve seen! The intricate finger/hand choreo, the sudden changes in texture, and the musicality are all top notch.
Aespas improvement is so nice too see after years of “bad dancer” allegations. I would love to see a ranking with all female dancers from sm like BoA, csjh, snsd, fx rv and aespa. I have a feeling female sm dancers are often very understood because they all are very unique. Especially Seulgi and the fx members are very unique.
I love this choreo! Renan did a fantastic job giving them something that not only suits the song but beautifully suits the girls, despite their differences in strengths and weaknesses. It's also good to see the girls are still working on and evolving their dance skills ^^
aespa's improvement is impressive. they def doing their best to provide better performances to fans. they're already one of the best vocal groups of 4th gen but their dancing isn't a slack now either. now it's up to sm to let hot girl giselle rap again for them to be really solid in all areas.
i always felt bad that the aespa girls were constantly getting dogpiled for being bad dancers when they were honestly fine but seeing them improve is kind of vindicating tbh. i'm happy for them
I made another Aespa update as well this week an it’s nice to see them improve every year. It’s not common to see idols improve so much so fast, so I love to see how the girls are really dedicated their job and willing to give something new to their audience 😊
Winter is also fcking impressive. Wdym she has collapsed lungs and she’s recently undergone surgery. Still able to sing so good live, hit those , and even dance good. Hoping for her better health in the future 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
you’re definitely right about giselle having potential in rnb choreo i wish they did more rnb songs and performances i would love to see that side of aespa. i am also glad giselle has improved so much in the past 2 years her lack of prior training definitely showed but she is no longer sticking out. i look forward to their next comeback at this new level of performance!!
omg agreeee 😭 love how u mentioned wendy. that woman really when dancing has so much stage presence. i just think she understands what "performance" means. im always mesmerized when she's performing 🥺
Unrelated to this video. But I think female idols on average have healthier technique and often more efficient technique. Many male idols that are not main dancers are often very tense. Is this a accurate observation? Like SinB is very efficient and completely tension less, but male idols from her previous company are but above her in terms of technique because they are stronger and more athletic. That cant be right
I might be wrong but it kind of looks like Giselle is the only one who does the chest wave properly? Also Winter rlly stood out to me her popping is insane!
I was expecting them to point that out, Giselle does the chest roll and head isolations the absolute best! While Winter definitely ate with the whole pop and vibrations.
@@akedyy4299 she's doing a chest roll, not wave, the basic isolation you do in warm ups etc. Renan does more of a moving the upper body side to side in her tutorial, Karina does it the closest to her imo. But checking their fancams I think that they both do a smaller chest roll usually?
I agree regarding winter's commitment to the choreography. That's always been an issue of hers since debut. Though right now, I believe part of that is due to her health. I would love to see her fully recover from her surgery and eventually not have to hold back as much when performing. I also would love to see her build more muscle so she can project more power in her movement. And I agree that Karina has improvef a lot, so has Giselle. I think they have all improved and it's nice that the choreo they get now suits their overall style a little better too.
How do you analyze idols dancing skills? What methods do you use or what do you look out for when ranking them? I know it can be subjective but I want to learn how to rank as well. May you give me tips and how I can start and how you come to the conclusions?
Winter and Ningning as low MD to MD, I just don’t see it compared to other dancers you have categorized around the MD level. I would’ve thought like low MD AT MOST tbh. But respect the analysis either way, I’d like to see you do a more in depth video on the members themselves specifically!
Yeah, Winter is way too inconsistent and I'm going back and forth on Ningning because she really does nail some parts of choreos, but maybe lacks versatility. I do see the potential though

For dancing comparison within the big 3, whoever puts Giselle last when there's Lia and Jisoo is nuts😂 Giselle had graceful moments since debut, people criticized the wrong person for the wrong reasons😂😂😂
@@a.t.l400 even if it's a 2022 video, from debut Giselle was better than Jisoo and Lia. It was clear from the very limited materials of her dancing that she was better. It takes skills and grace to make SM's awkward choreos look decent but she did it.
I have asked this before and idk if u saw it or not, but can you check out nexz? They have many dance material already and most of them have dance background, they have dance videos on their RU-vid channel called nexz archive where they collaborate with famous choreographers like kirsten, so i want to know their ranking, weaknesses and strong points and their tiers
Are they male niziu, Japan market oriented group? I wonder if they count as kpop. Maybe I should make a video covering some of these kpop adjacent Japanese groups one day
@@facts_in_fiction no they are different than niziu, they are not jpop, they are aimed to be a global group, just like xg, the members are Japanese but are promoted like a normal kpop group, they debuted with a Korean title track and all of them are fluent in Korean. The reason why I'm asking for a dance ranking for them is because they have gone viral with their nexz archive video with kirsten dodger and they have other nexz archive dance videos that showed that they have one of the best 5th gen dance line
i agree with winter’s variability in her dancing performances because sometimes she very clearly doesnt give her all, and when she does i’m always like “omg i forgot winter was that good”
Giselle is the best example of her own words “NO EXCUSES BUT I’LL WORK HARDER”. An idol who doesnt gaslight others and is actually willing to improve rather than crying and chooses to do grandma stuffs rather than actually working on her flaws despite centuries of experience under her belt. Giselle is true to her words and is a professional. If its anything, she deserve more than a praise. She make it look EASY.
Actually, even though it looks easy for her to improve in just a few releases, she's been open about struggling both mentally and physically during 2022 and Winter specifically talked about how difficult it was for Giselle to prepare for tour in early 2023 and how Giselle hides it the moment they're on stage.
@@rubyjaneluvbot I just checked her older videos and this is apparently not true? Both Karina and Winter are “Above Average” and Ning Ning is on the higher side of Average
I do think giselle has gotten better but she is noticeably weak. When you have 4 group members, its easy to pick out the weakest link in a dance line-up. I feel the same way about blackpink. Even for SHINee who is all very good dancers, you can tell who is a bit weaker at dancing and I think that's just the caveat with smaller groups . Meanwhile, if you look at very large groups like The Boyz for example, it becomes harder to find the weakest link.
