I took the kneepads off of mine and it helps the articulation immensely. I would have to say I definitely prefer the AEW figure over the Mattel. I hope AEW in the future either does a Joe with sculpted kneepads or fixes the issue with the kneepads limiting the articulation so much. Btw, the attire is different than the bright red mattel attire, it's supposed to be more muted cause that's what the attire was.
Good looking AEW Joe . Head sculpt is great . But just like I mentioned a while back about RVDs knee pad situation , while they look more poseable than Rob's some black paint underneath would be cool . And how can we make better ab crunches on figures ? So they can be doubled over like an accordion for moves ! Thats why in the 80s as a kid I had a G I Joe wrestling league ! They could pose like crazy . But a rubber band waist wouldn't be the best solution today unless they were strong as hell or easily replaceable . But who wouldnt like to do a folding powerbomb pin or a nasty german suplex where the toes hit the mat over their head ! ? Maybe just me .

I like that AEW Joe a lot, the knee pads thing is a bummer because one of the high points of the AEW figures is posability so losing some of that kinda stinks. Also the towel is long as hell and I don't like having to make my own alterations to figures or their accessories. No fists is bad too.
I just bought this figure yesterday, which was my birthday, and I replaced the knee pads with he normal ones. It may look inaccurate but it helps with the knees
We'll either get a Jade Cargill Elite in about three years or after she has left. As for Joe going by the photo on the packaging, he had the black strap under the white bandage as opposed to an elbow pad. I think the issue with the torso is Mattel made him too wide, whereas Jazwares looks more accurate but does stand out as a result. He could be a bit wider but the shape/tapering of chest to midsection is right.
Yeah, some females in the division have still never gotten an elite & only get basics made of them. Just look a Dana Brooke & how long she’s been there. Asuka barely gets any figures at all which is so odd, like she doesn’t even have a single basic other than her mutants figure which isn’t accurate
I don't fully enjoy AEW figs in general. There's just something missing that doesn't stack up to Mattel but they have over 10yrs of experience. I have all the Omegas except the ring version, Street Fighter version, and the 1st Supreme, a moc + loose Orange Cassidy, the 1st Moxley, the 1st Cody, the 1st Hager/Swagger (regret), and the 1st Jade. I'm sure they'll improve over time and there are some things that are really great like the accessory packs (the accessories overall actually) and the blood and guts series, but I'm just not feeling it or the promotion in general.
Maybe there's a way you can put an opening in the front of some Mattel knee pads to make them look a little more accurate as well? Just like poke or cut a hole through some spare ones?

Beautiful figure, folks shouldn't be petty about. Again I have a Mattel, and still on hunt for aew fig, but neither is perfect, but I think Mattel conquers the leg movement of joe better. We absolutely agree on that
I pre ordered joe because i didnt have a wwe elite joe and didnt want to buy one when an aew joe was announced glad they did this target exclusive, very solid figure
I recently got that Joe Sunday while I was with my mom and yeah he's pretty cool and I do agree I don't like how the knee pads hinder the knee articulation I enjoy him
I like the big broad chest, but I wish they didn't slim down his mid-section. Looks more like a '05 Joe than a 2022 one. Head sculpt is the best Joe to date
Personally i think that head sculpt on the aew figure if atrocious and the wwe one has way more likeness. I would rather buy the wwe one than the aew one.
MDT if you still wanna make that aew unrivaled Kevin Owens you can use the dog collar match CM punk shorts and the Samoa Joe torso A WWE Kevin Owens head and a cloth shirt
@1981troyboy interesting. But yeah Even if you trim the bend part in the back to more like an open back knee pad then I think it'll work. Because they look good on the figure
