From the instructions: NOTE: Without the plug installed, the aFe POWER intake will capture the maximum air available. More airflow offers more power. Some of this air is picked up from inside the engine compartment and could be warmer air. Warmer air will affect the performance of the vehicle. Question: Should I interpret that to mean that with the plug not installed, cold air plus more warm air is better than cold air only? In other words, the warm air that would ordinarily decrease performance is still preferable for total performance. Also, are the dyno results showing +25 HP and +40 Torque done with or without the plugs installed? I didn't see any mention on the dyno sheet.

The dyno results listed for that system is +20Hp and +25 lbs. x ft. of Torque and were achieved without the plug installed. Dyno testing was done during the winter months in California. Everything depends on the outside air temperature and driving conditions. For example, if the outside air temperature is very hot and the vehicle is being driven around town, it would be preferable to have the plug installed and get air only from the intake scoop. If the outside air is not too high and driving on the freeway, the engine air wouldn’t get too hot, and removing the plug wouldn’t lower the performance.

I just installed this on my 2024 Jeep GC L Overland 5.7. Spoiler alert - you do not need to remove all those plastic panels, seriously. You might have to remove just like 2 of the clips to give you enough room to lift up on the panel to make more room but completely unnecessary to remove the entire panel. I love it by the way! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

How does it sound? I gotta think these vehicles are so quiet, unless you’re into the throttle pretty good won’t be much change. I got approval from the boss I can modify the sound of her Overland L hemi(either Intake or exhaust) but she has to hear it first. Since nobody really has an exhaust system, I figure start with this, then maybe add Corsa “sport” mufflers later keep it kind of subdued

@@joewright9784 Brother - LMAO!!! I am in the same exact boat as you my friend! My last vehicle was a 2021 Durango RT, Tow N Go which was 100% SRT except the engine - it was loud and I loved it! But the boss didn't! 😉 Now this vehicle with the same 5.7 HEMI is so frikin quite is unreal! My neighbor has GMC pickup with a V8 and it's all stock but you can tell it's a V8 - this sounds like a 6 it's so quite. I also want to do some minor exhaust work - I might try replacing the 2 rear resonators with Flomaster FlowFX or something similar, not too loud. I don't want to mess with the mid-muffler suitcase. The AFE intake doesn't change the sound in opinion.

@@MidwestMotor Im also in the same boat and looking for a little more sound. Nervous about touching the exhaust so figured id look into an intake for now. I understand it wont be any louder outside of the vehicle just sitting idling but how does it sound in the cabin when you lay into the go pedal compared to your stock intake?

@@MB-ey2su I have numerous CAI's on numerous vehicles and I could never hear a difference. I had the AFE on my 2021 Durango RT Tow N Go and I couldn't tell.
