For future installers, you don’t have to loosen the strings or take the 2 screws all the way out of the pickup before installation. Just loosen the 2 screws enough, to allow the pickup to slide into position, then tighten the 2 screws. Easy peezy.
Using acoustic IRs can transform the sound of these pickups, a Nux Optima Air is a all in one, but any cheap IR and a free 3rd party acoustic IR uploaded will make a huge difference.
Great review; thank you. I intend to use a Neo D for gigging and open-mic so I took the pain, paid the extra and went for the humbucker. I'm using it tomorrow night at a gig so I hope it behaves itself. If it's all good, I'll permanently install it by wiring it to an endpin jack.
Can you not loosen the screws with the cork still attached and slide the entire assembled pickup in and tighten the screws then? Or do you have to add the brackets sperate?
Hi Lucas, yes you could just loosen the screws and slide the pickup in, I only realised I could do that after making the video! I admit, pretty dumb move, haha. Thanks for watching!
Hi BobSaget, I haven't tried plugging this into an audio interface, but I suspect that you may be right - it may need phantom power to get it to register. Let us know if you figure it out. Thanks for watching.
For the price, yes I'm satisfied with it. It's easy enough to remove it, but I suppose you could leave it mounted in the soundhole, provided you don't mind dealing with some cable management. If you're going to plug your guitar into an amp, or you want to mess around with effects, or if you want to play live, this is a great investment. Thanks for watching!
@@arya6716 It feels like these sub standard items should be discontinued. I write to them with no luck as Id bought it second hand but it was new in the packaging. Unhelpful to expect to upgrade. Not to this brand. My other videos i use another it is much sweeter. Best still I like a microphone sound for best acoustic s.
