Afghan leader, Dr Muhammed Najib, confidently predicts that all Soviet troops will be withdrawn from the country within a year. Many thousands have died in the war between Mujaheddin guerillas and Soviet forces but there is no guarantee that the bloodshed will stop when the Soviets leave.
