It depends on the mix, of course. But I find JB to be more reliable and universal.

I love Jazz bass but i get the feeling Precision are cheaper and sound more hard, i mean need less vvolume to cut trough the mix. Is it right?

No, Jazz Bass cuts through the mix better, because it sounds brighter.
