Holy shit Davey had an amazing voice. I mean the dude still kicks most singers asses all over the place, but he nailed Death of Seasons and that has got to be one of the hardest songs to sing live I can imagine.
i saw my first afi show a short time after black sails came out and even then every person in the audience knew every word to every song.amazing, my favorite band of all time to see live.but honestly i'm not to in to there new stuff
Mytop10afis songs1love like winter,2Death of the seasons,3 beautiful thieves,4 man ina suitcase,5silver and cold,7dont change8miss murder,9missing man,10this timeis imperfect
i agree with drunken monk his screams on i heard a voice were pretty bad but that was awhile back i seen them 3 times early 2011 and he did this song wester and love is a many splendored thing amaingly his screams have gotten better since i heard a voice.
It was shut your mouth that fucked him, he was spitting out blood literally on that album and black sails he was overcooking the songs but shows he was doing his hardest to get people's attention to them
Hmm, I have to disagree with people saying Davey can't ever scream well after the surgery... Sometimes he can and sometimes he can't. I've seen plenty of recent performances where he sounds good and where he sounds like he has to force it... Granted, it's never been quite as good and as effortless as it used to be, but he still has the ability to scream well. (And that person who said he doesn't dance around anymore, are you kidding me? I think he finds it impossible to hold still. Sure he dances more at Blaqk Audio shows, but there's plenty of his (ridiculous but charming) dancing to be found at AFI shows. In fact, he probably dances more now than he used to.)
+marty uribe take your elitism elsewhere and come to the realization that bands change and evolve. EVERY band changes and experiments with sound and that isn't a bad thing. Of course we cater to the older sound but be glad they're still around making music and playing their older shit at shows still.

THANK YOU!!!!! Just saw them again last night , one small encore, no GOD CALLED IN , no songs before "SAIL" and I felt I was oldest person in the pit , if u could call it a pit, and I'm 34. So ooo many little Emos , very different band from when I first saw em. Kinda sad actually
Kyle Pruden look up the setlist that they did for the troubadour show is Hollywood, CA. I was lucky enough to be there for that and can definitely say that was a setlist I or anyone else, was not expecting. And also keep in mind that they are touring their new album so they aren't going to be reminiscing as much as we'd like them too.
@@Roy19189Death of Seasons was on Sing the Sorrow which came out in 2003. And having seen them on that tour and going off of Daveys look, this is probably 2003.
@spyhunter1223 Im guessing you havent seen I Heard a Voice? He still performs at this level after the surgery. Theres a bunch of new, mediocre performances on youtube floating around but theyre all from lame festivals where bands never give it their all.
i love his voice now is more armonic but wow this is amazing so pasion he doesnt dance like that anymore now he sings better but in that days his live performance were much better
