Fucking awesome how Davey is in the crowd like that. You don't see that from bands as popular as AFI. Shows some respect for their roots! This tour was amazing.
not over yet i got 4 more shows to go too =] making it a total of 12 for me this tour and met the guys and hung with them after every show june cant come fast enough and may either cause seeing davey with dreamcar twice in may =]
It is truly amazing but their are (and should be) plants in the crowd. The two huge dudes in black are clearly in there to keep him safe. I'm assuming a few more but all the same it's amazing. A performance I'm sure none of them forget.
the problem is that they don't write punk anymore. which is just a problem for me and people who enjoyed that part of them more. I don't blame them for evolving
Seriously. I cannot stop watching and forwarding this. The person who recorded this should receive crazy respect for documenting something truly special.
That kid was determined to sing with davey. Lol. “This rage I cannot let go”!! I feel you brother. That’s probably the one line I wish I could scream with davey as well.
This show was around the 20th time I'd seen them live, and honestly, while their style has changed so much, they're still an amazing group of passionate performers. Aside from this finale, the best one I'd ever seen was Davey walking out on the crowd, standing on our hands, while they performed the entire song. Really one of the best live groups I've ever seen.
Man that brings back memories of '00 when I got to see them play this live for the first time in D.C. at what was then the Capitol Ball Room now Nations. There will never be a band that performs with such intensity, we'll maybe not as much as back then. But when the want to amp it up they still can. I should have come back home to catch this or the D.C. show. Man right at 3:43!! Fuck us still get goose bumps. I miss this AFI for sure!! Thanks for recording this!
It really was so incredible. It was a second encore and kind of unplanned. As the show was ending fights were breaking out all over the place so turned on the house lights and music after the first encore. Lots of angry bar drunks were there for some reason. Lots of people left and then the band came back out.
I had been watching a different recording of AFI live and hadn’t realized it auto played the next vid. When Davey said thank you Baltimore I about shit myself cuz I’m from Baltimore and I didn’t remember the video I clicked on taking place in Baltimore.
Thanks for recording this. I've watched it about 10 times already. That's Fritch (Jade's brother) in the white shirt, right? My wife and I were at the DC show the night before. We had a 2nd encore, but ours was Lost Souls.
It seems they have been doing 17-19 songs per show . Baltimore got 19 . Its also nice to see the setlist changing each night , with new additions thrown in that they haven't played in awhile
@@ilovemotionman 4 years later I reply verifying that correction. My bad... yeah that's Smith. I got Smith to sign my set list in NJ during this tour...
It's like his voice is a blast ray and he's using it to keep a horde of screaming monsters from devouring the band by blasting them with "giddiness rays" they fight to get to the front then they collapse or get caught like a rabbit in headlights
I wana point out a funny moment, so just over a minute in, pushing, climbing, surfing, guys falling over hitting the floor, people just basically smashing into each other, a great night, modern gigs "could everybody step back as people are getting hurt"
ofc drunk clowns just gotta ruin it all. some tried to hold it back, but dude. the guy graces you with his presence IN the crowd and you cant control yourselves. ffs i dispise drunks.
