Honestly i feel like they were going to this route because there was a survey of what character design we wanted to see more. And tbh a lot must have chosen the waaifu and husband types. I still love to see the varied character nonetheless, but i feel like people are being too sensitive over this. I do like lenya design she fits the martial artist aspect, and she gives Chun li, juri, and mirio vibes to me. And no one bats an eye with those characters.

Dude, PREACH. Thank you. There's way too much hate, and I guarantee it's "because furries ew." She's a martial artist type, they wear less. Look at MMA fighters. I'll agree her character design could use a bit more love, but overall I like her design and see her as a welcome fit to the AFK universe. And yes, it's a gacha game. Sometimes there's gonna be eye candy be it male or female. Don't suddenly pretend all of the buff shirtless men in the game don't exist.

For me the thing is that at the start the game had a somewhat nice variety in female desings unlike most gachas where the majority of female characters are oversexualized fanservice and now we have 3 oversexualized characters in a row. It gets boring, I know they aim to sell but it doesn't make the ultra sexy female design less tirying.

I dont care, but if I were to give an opinion and lean a certain way, I would say it is a bit much. For many people, thats like 3 waifus in a row, with this one somehow outdoing the rest. It really is on the nose with how its just a sexual prop to throw money at. It's almost a parody at this point. Just add ridiculous curves and a night worker's attire to anyone and all of a sudden, they are worthy of our time and resources. We all see it. As for me, I just roll my eyes and shrug my shoulders. If she is good, I will pull.

I can't lie, as a slightly older female gamer, characters like Granny Dahnie and Arden do make me feel welcome (not quite there yet, but still)! I guess somehow I'd feel out of place only being offered waifus xD but if they need to cater to their target audience, I can't blame them. Still, the characters that always seem the most authentic/intriguing to me are ones like Reinier, Smokey, Coco, Silvina, Ludovic, Viperian, Damian who have such unique designs and skills, tied to their story.

@@alyshira to me, most wilders, lightbearers have the most story, so they're the best ones, the rest I feel weve only gotten bits. Song of strife explained antandra, koko, and satrana, but I feel alsa/soren/Krueger/shakir all became just quest npcs at best. Wilders to me are the Devs favorite because they have personality, and that's what Carries it for me. Even granny has personality even though she's not a waifu (though I bet she was bad when she was young )

I care about lorsan. he's the best designed character. I'm glad lenya seems fairly skippable though, 'cause I can't afford another banner-up right now.

100% the sexualization of lily may is way creepier than lenya, especially with her story quest revealing that she's practically a baby that's been speedgrown into...a teenager? I wouldn't mind if she got more to wear. .-.

@@remnants9974 I like lorsan, dont get me wrong, but there's a reason he hasn't been released. He has the skill of wind whispering but has no combat skills that have been noted otherwise. It's similar to a chippy and hammy level. Yelping about it every character release is kind've just whining at this point tbh

@@ShawnSetGOAnd i got a better response for the whole defense of: "but her maturity level was on a different stage compared to the time she lived"... Have those guys ever seen how Lily May acts and comports herself? Constant approval seeking from a parental figure ("Will i be praised for this?") She's extremely naive and gullible... Overly obedient to her imprinted authority parental figure, unable to think for herself. Which in turn makes her extremely exploitable. She has all the hallmark traits of the mind of a child.

Only major complaint about Lenya is she's way too similar to Kaz from afk arena down to style of dress, class and even parts of her kit. I actually wanted Kaz so unless they give her a class and wardrobe change it's unlikely I'll ever see her in afk journey.

I can understand that. It's hard to tell if the intention is to steer into afk arena releases or to make characters that only scratch the surface of their previous counterparts.

There was at least 4 posts on reddit & also on the 3 or so tweets but if you look in each of the comments some have massively downvoted or upvoted comments so it's at least a decent amount of people
