Thanks :) I’ll see what I can come up with, but it’ll take a few weeks at best, getting ready for the annual adventure ride through tha Balkans, so will be more or less offline for a while.
Hey there, thanks for your two video's. I just finished the front forks. I poored in 600ml, but I don't own that suction device. Do you remember how much ml you poored in/sucked out? The manual says to have an air buffer of 200mm and the backside of the manual states 180mm lol. I poored in 600ml and hope for the best. Tommorow I'll be doing the back shock, with the help of this video. have you noticed difference??? I'm really curious because the stock springs and me being 105kg (118-ish with gear, panniers) are making it hard to manage the bike!
Sorry, don’t recall the ml’s, but you can just measure with a normal ruler or whatever you have, 180mm down from the top. If you have oil on it, poor some out, wipe of the ruler and measure again. The suction/measurement-thing is just an easier/faster way to do it :) You’ll love it, much better than stock setup for those of us with slightly more mass than your average japanese engineer :)
@@adventuregarage4230 Thanks! I'm in luck, Hyperpro offers free check-up service after installing it yourself. I live in The Netherlands so I'll drop by their workshop as soon as possible. The ride is very different, much 'stiffer' in a good way. It sits firmly on the road. I used 8 clicks of max preload in the rear. I did not fully understand the '8t from std'. But anyway, thanks for the videos (which I shared on the AfricaTwin forum online).
Cool - mate did you (decide) have to remove the rear wheel at some point? Saw another CC doing this and he kept his rectifier and wheel on? Main question is how is the new +20mm spring after 1 year? Any comment now?
Hi!! Is there a need to change to hyperpro 461(rear) or is the spring kit +20mm only is good enough? Meaning i will just service and use back the oem showa shock...
It'll definitely help with the front dive issue, I found the rear to be too soft as well, which obviously can't be rectified with just a fork spring replacement.
I dont really believe in the 'progressive spring', as its essentially just two springs in series. One stiff and one less stiff. The result is simply that the less stiff spring is dominant, until you compress it so far that the coils touch (never happens in a bike). Although I do think the default rear spring of the AT is way too soft for most riders, especially in the west. Front forks were spot on for me though with default factory settings.
Assume you’re looking for the spring compressor? Got it from eBay a while back, can’t find it there now unfortunately, but it’s this one: www.unit-products.com/tool_sus/p1124.html
Hi! You have a very good videos. I want to put the same spring on my bike. I am traveling with passenger and full equipment (boxes). Is that spring make stronger suspension? Can you send me a like where did you buy it? Tusen takk for svar.
Sorry for the late reply. I got these from Rugged Roads in the UK. Should be ok with a passenger too by tightening up the preload, if not take a look at Nitron shocks, I know they do custom weight adjusted solutions.
It’s firmer, and doesn’t dive as much in the front. Very happy with it, although I imagine a full blown Öhlins fork kit would be even better. For the price the Hyperpro’s are well worth it! (Comment based on full install front and rear, obviously)
The touratech is, afaik, just a rebranded hyperpro kit, so the exact same product. Back when I bought them, it was a lot cheaper to just by the originals instead of paying the added Touratech markup. I'm very happy with the upgrade.
