What’s really bizarre is the wright brothers first aircraft design is completely available to the public. They don’t have to build it from scratch. The plans are already done and could easily be copied with modern machine tools. But instead it’s like some acid trip episode of pimp my airplane.
Yes, that's what I thought, and posted on, why not build a ww1 era biplane, with wood, cables and fabric. I'm sure there must be plans for some of those around somewhere. And it would actually work.
Bear in mind a lot of these blokes dinae have access to internet or books on the subject, and by looks of things, they’re going largely off of memory or photographs of aircraft.
It seriously looks fun and educational. It also looks laughably dangerous and inept. They'd learn more by attending aviation engineering programs at a western university but it looks like they're trying hard to get their ideas working without such an expensive education.
This is what happens when you've either ignored or totally side stepped the mathematics from the get-go. I couldn't stop laughing and yet I do feel sorry for these folks.
Hang on a second! Are you trying to say Wakanda does not exist!? Ffs! I have just bought a ticket to Africa to see this legendary city with mind blowing technology. Wait until I see dellboy!😂😂😂😂
Gulag Barf: "it's important to recognize the innovations and struggles of the Black (notice capitalization) Wright brothers." Me; "black? they're white..." Gulag Barf: "Celebrating the achievements of white people is considered offensive and dismissive of diverse individuals of other races, let's not focus on race and instead let's celebrate the achievements of the African aviation community"
They build something that roughly looks like a plane but with no understanding of how a plane works and what makes it fly. This reminds me of the cargo cult that took a similar approach. The one with the collapsed landing gear weighs 800kg. That´s about double the weight of planes of a similar size. And then it has 3 sets of wings. I guess the thought was "more wings make plane fly better". It´s a bit sad that all their effort goes to waste because they´re doomed to fail.
@@Christopher_Giustolisi They're just making a shape that looks like what they think an aircraft is and magically expect it to work 🤣 I've seen better props built for high school video projects lmao
@@kishascape For every logical thinking person this is clear. Imagine you want to build an aircraft. The first step would be to learn what makes it fly. Then maybe you apply that knowledge and build a scaled down model and see if your design is any good. If you got something catastrophically wrong, it would show in that phase. But that´s apparently not how it works in Africa. They want to build a plane, so they just start building it without knowing anything about planes except how they look. When the first planes were built many of them looked crazy and didn´t work. The people back then at least had the excuse that humanity didn´t know as much as today and the little knowledge wasn´t easy to get as today. In the age of the internet there is no such excuse, not even in Africa. Maybe they don´t have internet in every village but traveling to the next town to access that knowledge would be much easier than spending months or years to build something without knowing what you need to build.
@@ElixirOfEuphoria From what I’ve gathered and how everyone is behaving in the footage and stuff, I feel likeeee it is actually real.. which is just unbelievable
@@NamSaiyan595 Any of us would have been just as brainfried retarded if we had lacked nutrients to the extend that they have during critical development. That's mostly what it is, they were fed so little, that their body simply had to ration nutrients, and it doesn't prioritize the brain, so that means a gross underdevelopment of it. It's like they're 8 years old, not even capable of looking up the most basic info (they do have books, phones and internet), like that guy on his 10th plane build had airfoil shaped plates at the tip of the wings, but the wings themselves weren't airfoils. I can only imagine that even if they were to get proper nutrients, it would take several generations for their other features, like the size of their skull, to adjust to accommodate a larger brain.
To be fair, he did seem to use the metal pipe in his other hand to kinda mark/feel the spot where he has to weld. While not the greatest idea, it's still a decent alternative if you don't have a welding mask.
I remember building one of these "aircraft" as a child. Mine was made of cardboard boxes and rope. I swear it would have flown if I just had more funding from the community.
I think everyone should be aware that the guy at the end, probably the most successful of all of these, Chris Nsamba, died last year from diabetes after successfully building the first Ugandan made baby incubator for hospitals. From media reports and his twitter page it looks like it's still in use in hospitals. We should always keep in perspective that while a simple man founding a space program sounds ridiculous to us today, that's exactly how our own space programs began to be developed 100 years ago. I do applaud him for being so ambitious, there are literally people alive today who wouldn't be without his invention so props to him. Rip good sir.
I get where you're coming from but if you want to see where the best and brightest African minds went, look no further than the Apollo program, where we had rooms of mathematicians and engineers calculating trajectories and processing raw data all by hand
@@_MrTrue A simple Google shows them all. They were well respected at the time, as most smart people (like those in NASA) judge others based on their actions and abilities rather than their physical attributes. Also, most of the early space pioneers were laughed at in the beginning as well, until they produced working rockets when suddenly they were taken very seriously. So laughing at these guys as they're first starting out at least means we're treating them the same as we did for the whites.
They should start with drones or radio control aircraft and make them bigger gradually. This would allow them to have short-term success and to build on their own experience through an iterative design process without much expense.
@Archos Coplin Well the Wright brothers started out from scratch, as well and so have many other Aeronautics engineers whom happened to be white. Technology does make one Superior though. That's a proven fact. The United States needs to worry about an EMP attack? Well fortunately for us the United States have already been working on this and we have the technology to combat an EMP attack ,so that is completely irrelevant.
**microphone crackle** "Dear passengers, takeoff will commence shortly. Please enjoy your complimentary bag of transformer-oil fried chicken and mud cookies, while our mechanic uses the Stevie-Wonder-method to weld the wings back onto the fuselage. Thank you for flying Nig-Air!"
Lol when people say that they mean the US was built on the backs of slaves. Meaning they did so much free manual labor that the US was turned into an economic powerhouse. Large swathes of the US were developed because of access to slave labor that's undeniable.
Sure they would be. Safer, too. But it is an expensive hobby, if you would have to import all the parts. I did not see them having such resources. At the same time, most of their politicians and generals reside in enormous luxury mansions and ride in Bentleys. But I do not see those well-to-do folks trying to invent anything except for some new corruption schemes, probably.
@@daakrolb They also don't skimp on construction materials by using new lightweight purpose formulated alloys. That shit's for posers. Strap a 20 HP 1 cyl then use a belt adapter to turn a tiny prop. That's how you get 2 ton's of surface welded old farm steel in the air.
MarkBits I think they should get a subscription to the EAA (experimental aircraft association) Sport Aviation which has many tips in building and development of how to get your aircraft in the air. I’ve been a member since 1984 and I have great respect for this magazine and all people who have the same desire to get each aircraft in the wild blue yonder
Great effort. When STAR WARS CAME OUT. I built a cardboard box with a Casio Calculator glued to the wall and a TIE fighter made out of a Coat hanger. . Wished I’d had a picture. It was COOL
@@vascoribeiro69 yeah weight is a problem of your engine is not powerful enough. How you expect to make that thing fly. Where do you an aircrafts made of iron or steel alone?. Tjey used composed materials and light weight metals like aluminum
That garage space program that will launch a probe to the lower Earth's orbit in five years and has an empty airplane fuselage made for an engine "yet to be developed" was the best by far.
I believe their are school kids who have placed cube SATs into orbit for far less than the donations he received. Last I checked the Russians would take some up for cheap (They are only small and light)

If they believe hard enough, then they can believe it into reality, or so they think. Cargo cult behavior. I'm not blaming them, unless they have Internet access, then yeah no excuse at that point.
Have you ever tried to build anything remotely close to that? It’s pretty funny to see how little knowledge people have of how difficult it actually is to do something like this is, and how difficult it is to get everything to fit together nicely when you’re literally working with scrap.
