He said in the beginning that weaving came to West Africa more recently, which isn't true. Weaving has been in West Africa since about 1000 a.d. But Kente cloth itself has only been woven there since the 15th century. There's a difference.

Would you mind sharing the source of this information?

@@mononix5224 my source is a book titled "The Early History of Weaving in West Africa", chapter 6, printed by Cambridge Univ. press. Sept. 2020. They were made of wool. According to the article the oldest preserved textiles in West Africa were discovered at Burkina Faso and dated to the early first millennium AD.

@@marielaveau6362 I'll definitely have to give that book a read, thanks for sharing!

@@marielaveau6362 The book seems to be titled: "Mobile Technologies in the Ancient Sahara and Beyond", not "The Early History of Weaving in West Africa", which seems to be a chapter in that book. So am I missing something or did you make a mistake?

Man I always wonder going about bare foot while swinging those axes ! How are they kept so sharp? They really need ear protectors while hammering the anvil, at least earplugs

Weaving has been in West Afrika for as long as the Nile has functioned as the river, most colonists are just IN D NILE when they "narrate" any Afrikan genius. 🙄

Every culture weaves, uses clay, iron, makes art and even masks etc, however each culture has distinct ways and meaning to do, and for doing such things. Thus it’s special to their culture as it would be to yours. Thank you.
