I know this vid is 3 years old, but your tank looks almost identical to my 55. I'm running two Penguin 200's on it with the Aqueon LED hoods. I almost got the Marineland hoods like you have, but liked the ability to add a second light with the Aqueon hoods. Tank looks great!

Hello thats a nice set up.... had a query regarding mbunas.Since you are an expert... What are the reasons for sunken belly in mbunas....??they are eating but sunken belly not going... What can be done?? I feed my fish twice a day.....dont want to over feed and encounter issues... Would be great if you could advice...
@inventoryking
@inventoryking 2 года назад
David, thanks. It is likely from an internal parasite in their gut. You can soak food in metroplex and focus with some Garlic and feed it to them. That will introduce the metro to their gut. It may of may not help. This is what I would do.

Congrats on the Demasoni fry. When I tried they just wanted to make war not love so had to get rid of them, that was on a 1 male to 7 female ratio in a 4 foot tank. I might try on a 1-9 or 1-10 ratio in a bigger tank at a later date.

@inventoryking
@inventoryking 4 года назад
I wouldnt add a yellow lab with those fish. African Cichlids are mouth brooders. So they breed and take up the eggs in the mouth to protect them from predators. The eggs then develop in the mothers mouth and when they are ready she will spit them out.

How Do You Keep Them From Cross Breeding I So Need Some Of Your Advice

Thaxton's Aquaticz - I had luck because these two fish are completely different. It's best to keep them separate. Hope this helped.

a buddy was making some room in his tank and threw me a few random peacocks/haps/and apperently 1 demasoni... am I doomed? should I try and get him out asap? so far I haven't noticed any real agression towards his tank mates

+Anthony's Marine and Malawi -- I would just keep an eye on him. Since I have a lot in my tank, the aggression isn't that bad.
