Not an album, you'd exactly break out at a party. That said, this album that is so spared down, open & honest will remain a classic. Nothing like it.

When this song came out, I felt like I was sitting in on a man's therapy session coming to terms with a painful childhood. Art can be beautiful but sometimes it has to take us to these dark places to shake us from our own traumas or give us understanding to others' traumas.

Excruciating song. I think that John Lennon is advanced enough to not only showing his pain, but also perhpaps wanting to tell something.. Like family is important. So thankful for sharing this experience with you africa Reacts! 🥰🥰🥰🙏

John was raised by his aunt....not his biological parents, obviously impacting him til the end.

John Lennons mother was beautiful woman and was tragically killed by a car accident walking home his father had abandoned the relationship with both his mother and John very early on. This was made when he was doing Primal therapy with Yoko

Lennon's mother gave him up as a child,but he was just reestablishing a relationship with her when she was killed by a hit and run car driver. His father had left too. Written after he and Yoko had gone through primal therapy.

John Lennons childhood was not a happy one. His cynicism and sharp wit are evident in his songwriting. The pain in his voice in this song is chilling.
