I am not half way through your video and I am in tears. I have been to Africa 14 times. Took my son twice. Was going to take my daughter and she wanted her oldest to make the trip at 18. I was not wealthy my job took me to Africa and I made great friends there. I am sure your children and grand children will remember those days in Africa until the day they pass to a better life. To share the experience with your family is so special. I wish I could have taken my whole family there. Africa is so special and I would be there now if the virus had not hit us. I love your video and wish every family could experience your thrill. Cheers, David Fowler
I'm sorry you couldn't make it to Africa this year. Hopefully we can get back some normalcy soon and hopefully you can still make it over here. Family time is Africa is priceless. As you mentioned a trip like this is unforgettable. Best of luck and health for you and your family.
I’m really very very happy to see this young boy taking the professional role of his father. This is the exact time to teach them how to hunt. 👍👌 keep it up boy 👍
I can see from the emotions of this family their huge respect for the wildlife. What a great memory for this family. We've lived in Botswana, Zambia and now South Africa for many years and have shared the joy of the African bush together. All of my kids have had the opportunity to walk and stalk and harvest an impala or warthog. Great memories.
Thank you for watching and for the great comment. Hunting, if done right, is something that forms a very special bond between families. I'm glad you had the opportunity to experience it.
What a hunt we all had together thank you Martin for a awesome movie and thank you Tim and Rick for letting me be your PH. I don't think I can put a number on the amount of times I have watched this and though back to all the fond memories we made on this trip.
Definitey. These people became good friends, more like family. I value their respect to nature and to others. Thanks for the comment, Tim. Much appreciated.
I am absolutely delighted to see how hunting helps the African wildlife and people! after this madness of Covid19 is over, I know where I am going to travel!
@@movoshedayan2686 I have a few clients from the UK, one of the few places I haven't been to personally. Will fix that after Covid is under control! You can find more info on www.africansunproductions.com. You can also DM me your email address and I can send it directly.
Great Video !! To the Decker Family : Trust me when I say that I watch MANY hunting videos !! This was the best family hunting safari video I have seen !! It is truly a pleasure to see hunters like you come to South Africa. The appreciation, love and respect you have shown towards the bush & animals is awesome to see !! Many come here to "shoot". You guys came here as hunters to "hunt", not just shoot trophies. There is a huge difference !! J(T)immy : 200meters (220yards), 1st kill, with your Grandpa and dad to witness it !! What an experience !! Great shot !!
Best comment ever. I agree on all of it, the Decker family are more than just clients, they are such nice people they have turned into mom and dad 2.0! Love for nature, love others around them, just good people setting the perfect example.
Glad you enjoyed it, and yes I agree the family is awesome. I just finished filming with Tim, Jan and Dan (Tim's older brother). 25 days all over South Africa. In 2025 they want to bring the whole family together again. Thank you for watching and for your comment, I appreciate the support.
Good morning, Last year I took my daughter, who is 30 years old on a safari in Namibia. We had an awesome time. I believe this is the reason I enjoy watching your movies that involve families. After seeing the pictures my youngest nephew said that he would like to go on a safari and take a zebra. I am now in the process of booking another safari (in four years) with the same family we stayed with last year. As we get “closer” to our safari I will very much consider contacting you to video our hunt. You and your company do an amazing job!!!!
Namibia is great, and taking you family on a hunt in Namibia is awesome, well done sir. I always enjoy working with families. I'll be honored if you'd consider ASP for your movie, I hope you can do it in less than 4 years! You can email me any time, my address is on all the movies. I hope you enjoy each and every movie I upload!
Thanks for the positive comment Nelius. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. It sure was a pleasure filming this family, they are awesome and even call me on of their sons!
Wow, you have literally been this family's "African videographer" for years now. That's pretty crazy. I imagine you will be for years to come with the size of that family. Not sure who you have spent more time with, this family or Greg, man Greg is a hoot to watch.
Indeed! It will be a close match between the Deckers and Greg. I definitely won't be able to chose only, even if I was forced to. The love and respect this family has for everyone they meet, all the animals they see and for one another is amazing. They set a beautiful example. Greg is definitely one of of the most fun people I've worked with, and he has a very small heart. He'll go out of his way to help others and make your life so much happier. Thank you for watching and for your great comment, I appreciate it.
Thank you Percival. I agree! It's an amazing experience. When you are ready you are welcome to contact me via email and I'll put you in touch with the right people. Thank you for watching and for your comment.
in the days after wrestling I am back to home I don't want to be on my phone but every time I think in my head African sun and then I just need to watch it
What an awesome family hunting safari ... thanks for sharing the video, respecting the wildlife, ethical hunting, some shooting by camera lens and for sharing some love, God bless
Just love the family interactions and easy rapport between PHs and family. Great hunt!! I also like the way in which trophies are filmed - having the face concealed while displaying the horns - very subtlely, and well, done. 👍
Couldn't agree more! This is an awesome family. Both myself and the PHs know them for a couple of years already. It's always a pleasure when they come over to Africa.
@@AfricanSunProductions For pure connectedness between clients and PHs - and in showcasing PHs skills in making a safari "work" this is almost unbeatable. I've shared this to a pal - who wants to come with me on my next hunt. 👍
I love this video, and I've watched it more times than I care to admit! Besides the .270 and the .375, could you please talk about the other rifles used on the trip? Ms. Jan's mannlicher is gorgeous. Thanks for everything!
I'm so happy to hear how much you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching and for your support. Unfortunately I don't have footage of the other weapons used. I'm filming the Deckers again in July and hopefully that will be another great movie. I'll make sure to get rifle and ammo information for you.
Awesome! Thank you for watching and for the positive comment. I've been to Canada last year, just passed through unfortunately. Beautiful country. Looking forward to return someday!
What are the names of everyone including the guides? I was confused the entire time haha maybe I cannot follow it well. Great video and love the respect had for the animals
There really was a lot of people, right! AND there was three generations sharing the same name so we names them Tim, Timmy and Timmiest. Thanks for watching!
@@AfricanSunProductions ok I got it! There was also two different guides (maybe not the right term) what were their names? So a quick question are their differences in the ability to hunt Black and Blue Wildebeest? (Maybe one is protected)
The guides, or Professional Hunters, were Super and Nicus. Great guys. The Black Wildebeest used to be protected, their numbers were very low. Due to continued conservation efforts fueled mostly by hunting outfitters, their numbers grew to a very healthy and sustainable amount. This is the whole idea behind sustainable utilization. Increase and maintain wildlife numbers through funding generated by hunters. It works very well.
We take it back to camp, some are used by the hunter and camp staff, the rest goes to local villages or a butcher and then utilized. Thank you for the question.
Good day Roosters. Unfortunately I don't have this information, I'm a camera guy and forget which rifles were used. I can try to find out though. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Timmiest used a .257 Robert's to shoot his impala. Timmy used a .375 Holland and Holland Magnum, a .300 Winchester Magnum, and a .300 Winchester Short Magnum. Rick used a .375 Holland and Holland Magnum and a .270 Weatherby Magnum. Tim used an 8x57 Mauser, and Jan used a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser.
@@roosterslounge1697 I love the .338 Win Mag. I took mine to Africa for our first safari and used it to take a kudu, a gemsbok, a zebra, and a black wildebeest. I think the .338 Win Mag would work very well on most plains game including waterbuck and eland. I would not use it on buffalo for a couple of reasons. First, it would be illegal in most countries who have a minimum caliber restriction of either 9.3 millimeter or .375 Holland and Holland Magnum. Second the .338 does not create a large enough wound channel to reliably and cleanly kill buffalo.
I sincerely apologize for taking so long to reply. I have no excuse other than I just simply missed seeing your question. In brief, the .338 Winchester Magnum is a very versatile cartridge that worked for a wide range of game animals during our safari in South Africa and Tanzania. I selected it because I knew that I was going to hunt a sable antelope in South Africa, and they have a reputation for being very hardy, or tough, animals to put down. I did not know what to expect in Tanzania, so I wanted to have a rifle and cartridge that I could use on the widest variety of game possible without having to worry whether or not it would be adequate for the task. Some would argue that the .338 Winchester Magnum was "too much gun" for the little civet cat - it certainly was much more than necessary, but it worked, and well! - and it was perfect for the Niassa wildebeest, Lichtenstein hartebeest, warthog, and impala that I used it for. Additionally, I did not expect to take an eland in South Africa, but when the opportunity presented itself, I knew that the .338 Winchester Magnum was "enough gun" to take Africa's largest antelope cleanly and humanely. @@roosterslounge1697
Hi Kim. It's all part of sustainable utilization programs designed to increase wildlife numbers by getting funds to protect the land they live on. Bigger picture, a few gets hunted to save thousands.
