Well, that's a good surprise, thank you for sharing ! A few years ago, I 've been attending to a concert from a Malian band, called Songhoy Blues. It was at a festival and I caught them by chance, because they were playing before a band I wanted to see. But it's still good memories.

Some of the double-kick patterns this drummer played were really locked-in with the guitar riffs. "Open-Handed Playing" - A fairly atypical manner of playing where a drummer avoids crossing their hands over one another. Most drummers cross their hands in order to play the hi-hat cymbals with their dominant hand, while playing the snare drum with their non-dominant hand. When playing open-handed, a drummer primarily plays their hi-hats with their non-dominant hand, while playing the snare (and/or other parts of the drum kit) with the dominant. The drummer in this video plays mostly with his hands crossed, but in several instances you can see him switch to playing open-handed, with his left hand on the hi-hats and his right hand on snare, toms, and crash cymbals.
