Nasza polska DIVA , śpiewa do dziś.
This voice should conquer the world stage, but unfortunately the person who owns it was born in Poland, not in America or one of the Western countries.
A i jeszcze ten tekst genialnego Pana Jacka Cygana i równie genialna muzyka Pana Stanisław Syrewicza!
Tekst i muzyka to osobna sprawa.
The Chorus is about her nor being biblical Eve, who commited the original sin, so therefore she's not to be blamed for everything. I guess it partially is a love song, but mostly it's about womanhood. My favorit part is when she sings she wants to be a huge flame before she turns into ash.
It's not really a love song; it's more about self love, self-discovery, self-growth. She says that she's a blank page, a paper marionette doing what she's told, but she longs to be a huge flame before she turns to ash. The chorus says "I wasn't Eve (the biblical one), it's not my fault the world is the way it is". She talks about being tired of her tears, she wants to follow her dreams.
Those were the times when a song was a song and Eurovision was a pleasure to watch. Now the songs are hopeless, the singers have no voice, and they only win the competition thanks to politics and image. Now that's all that matters. I haven't watched Eurovision for 4 years. I suggest listening to Edyta Górniak's performance of Whitney Houston's songs. I think they have similar voices. Cordial greetings
I get where you're coming from, Eurovision has been a mess lately with over the top politicised or idiotic and talentless entries, but there have still genuinely been some great performances in those 4 years, like "Voila" by Barbara Pravi or "Saudade" by Maro and "Bridges" by Alika only to name a few. I recommend giving it another try
@@johnf8067 Thanks but I probably won't watch anymore. Moreover, the current work of some musicians scares me. Good lyrics and music are rare these days. I come from the music generation of the 70's and 80's. I grew up listening to rock and metal, but I also listened to pop. I am a musician myself and for me the most important thing is the lyrics and good harmonious sounds. Thank you once again and I will try to listen to the artists you recommended. Greetings from Poland
@@chanell59 alright, I totally understand your point but since you said you'll try and listen to the artist recommendations of mine, let me at least give you some more whom I think you'll like: "Fai Rumore" by Diodato, "Space Man" by Sam Ryder, "Tout l'univers" by Gjon's tears and if you didn't watch Eurovision 2019, "Scream" by Sergey Lazarev is also a great song. Greetings from Greece
@@johnf8067 Let me comment on the songs and singers you recommended to me . Diodato _Fai Rumore ,a fantastic song, perfectly composed music and great lyrics. Diodato's perfect voice makes it a pleasure to listen to. l'univers" by Gjon's ,Very good song, great voice. "Voila" by Barbara Pravi ,Beautiful lyrical song the artist has a voice similar to Edith Piaf. Very nice and clean. MARO - Saudade Saudade , Nice song, perfect voice and harmony of sounds. ALIKA - Bridges , fantastic song and perfect voice. Sung cleanly. Scream" by Sergey Lazarev , One word: Great!!! I remember it because I watched Eurovision 2019 with Madonna's memorable performance. That was the last time I watched Eurovision. In 2022, I made an exception and decided to give Eurovision a chance because I really liked the song by Polska Krystian Ochman - "River" and I was supporting this song, even though I knew there was no chance. And I was right, good songs were eliminated and a crappy song from Ukraine won. All these songs that I have commented on now had no chance of winning at Eurovision. They are beautiful, but they are not festival songs. You listen to such songs in the comfort of your home with a glass of wine. Now, finally, the last song.Space Man" by Sam Ryder , although I have a weakness for British music, this one didn't blow me away. The vocal range is amazing, with a lot of potential, but unfortunately sung dirty. Generally, this is the song for Eurovision. Such songs win and would probably win if it weren't for the hopeless song from Ukraine. Well, once again Eurovision focused on politics, not music. Best regards from Krakow, Poland. ps; Recently I have been fascinated by the Korean rock group The Rose. In March this year they had a tour around Europe. I was at their concert in Krakow. I have several unprofessional videos on my YT channel.
Hi, Forgive me for writing this comment a second time however since I have the same thing to share as on the parallel YT channel. I guess it's OK(?). This is one of the best voices in the history of Polish popular music. The best part is that then still girl was a natural raw voice. She just sang like that. Such talent happens once in a billion. It's a pity that Ms. Edyta was never guided in such a way to become an international star. I always compared her vocal conditions with such mega stars as Céline Dion or Barbra Streisand. She had great talent, great beauty. A little luck was missing...
@@angelinasiel Unfortunately, I don't know her. Maybe she fucked up her career maybe not but I know many stupid guys they are super stars. So, sometimes U need luck and strong support even if U R not too smart. She still has a great voice even without her international career.🙂🖖.
She has plenty of songs in EN and she sold alot of albums in Asian countries. Still she was the best polish entry into EN by far, she won a second place.
I was not Eve It wasn't me who stole heaven Though I"ve had enough of tears My tears, so many tears I am here to be loved I was not Eve It wasn't me who stole heaven Don't blame me I was not Eve It's not me, it's not me I am not... ... not Eve
How can you judge her personality through the image the media creates? It's like judging actors by the roles they play. This is very stupid. And I had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Edyta in person at that time when the media slandered her so much. She is a wonderful, nice and empathetic woman.
My world, so usual. Under a sky of black and white. People are, cut out of the grey pages From inside books Beautiful ones..are from the romance background. Tired ones..only from the newspapers. And I... I am a white, clean sheet Among you I wasn't Eve. It was not me who stole the sky. Though I'm tired of tears My tears, so many tears I exist to be loved. I wasn't Eve. It was not me who stole the sky. Don`t add me blames It's not me, not me Not me! ... I'm Eve. Sky blows coldness. Hell bows the fire to the feet. And I... a paper puppet, I need to play. I wasn't Eve. It was not me who stole the sky. Though I'm tired of tears My tears, so many tears I exist to love, I know! Before the I change into ash, I want to be a big flame. I want to soar above the world! Heat the sky with a dream! I don't want evil Not me!!
Here are the lyrics, it is not exactly a love song :) Much love! My world so ordinary under the black and white sky People are cut out of gray pages From inside the books The beautiful- from romance The tired- only from newspapers And me.. I am a white blank sheet of paper Amongst You I wasn't the Eve I didn't steal heaven Although I've had enough tears, my tears, so many tears I exist to be loved I wasn't the Eve I didn't steal heaven Do not add to my sins It wasn't me I am not Eve Heaven is blowing the chill Hell bows with fire at your feet And me, I am a paper marionette I must act (pretend) I wasn't the Eve I didn't steal heaven Although I've had enough tears, my tears, so many tears I exist to be loved, I know That before I turn into ashes I want to be the greatest flame I want to rise above the world Up to the stars Warm up the heavens with a dream...
Hi, you can also check it a Polish singer named Paulla "Od dziś". She has that same voice sounding. And if you enjoy very creative artist, you'll like Justyna Steczkowska.🙋

Edyta Górniak is the best Polish singer now. But you need to listen to Kasia Moś (she is soo gifted) and a very young The Voice of Poland's winner Alicja Szemplińska (very low, mature voice).
Lyrics My world so ordinary Under the black and white sky People are cut out from gray pages From the middle of books They are beautiful from the romance of the background Only tired from newspapers And I... am a white, clean page Among you It was not me who was Eve It was not me who stole the sky Although I have enough tears My tears, so many tears I am here to love It was not me who was Eve It was not me who stole the sky Don't add to my guilt It was not me, it was not me Not me! ...I am Eve The sky blows cold Hell bows with fire at my feet And I... a paper puppet, I have to play I was not Eve I was not the one who stole heaven Although I have enough tears My tears, so many tears I am here to love, I know... This song is about not being at fault and not being the bible "Eve." Poland came second in this eurovision contest and never after have Poland got any closer. She did conquer the world, but her private affairs, divorce, and life took her on another path. Above that, the doctors have told her she should not be singing at all,as her vocal cords are very gentle and could break under the pressure of singing. Amazing singer, but privately, she's a diva and uses her fame in public to always say, "Do you know who I am?" She has changed since she was recognised. Always humble, came into charts, and turned her back on everyone who supported her and made it possible. Nevertheless, this is one of my favourite voices of all times.
Poland was erased from the map for 123 years. This song was written in that times. Poland was divided into Russia, Austria and Germany (that line about germanise our children)
