Nice treat.. Sunday African Violet video.. plant is huge! I wonder if backing off the light first would help? Just me thinking out loud 😊. Never knew about the scraping method, good to know! I have a crazy Alocasia that got bashed a couple times.. leafs shed themselves and I did an air layering before cutting off the old section. It’s establishing and I already had to add dirt since it loves to grow roots at the base of the leafs which make the leafs die. It’s a trip. Nice video Miss Paula. I have mine in self watering pots. They are doing great. 👍 The only thing I do differently than yours is when rooting violet leaves I dip the stems in rooting hormone. I have never spilt the stems. Growing plants is such a fun hobby. Hugs dear one. ❤️🥰👏💐
Hey sweetie Miss Shirley 👋 yea self watering helps so much. I find it works pretty good. But you can forget them on the bottom shelf like that. 🤣😬 Yea rooting hormone would be a great help. I have the growth hormone in the seakelp so I'm sure it helps. Yea usually you don't have to slice them side ways. They are hardy enough to just grow. Hope all is well my sweet friend! Hi Paula, nice AF collection. I started growing AF's over 40 years ago, though I haven't had any for YEARS. 😂 I started leaf cuttings from my mom's plants. There is so much more info available now with the internet and access to friends who grow them too. I LOVE the noid that you got from Lowes. To me, it comes through as hot pink color, but my eyes see pink into the salmon. Is that correct, or is it a straight up... deep, hot pink? For the large one, me being me, 😉 I'd take off the large old leaves since they spoil the look and, to my knowledge, wouldn't be functioning much to nourish the plant. A nice treat Paula, thank you! .......Paula....your doing fine without any input from me......they are blooming hard and growing like crazy......You realize....every leaf you toss is making someone cry somewhere....😉..I would send you a few violets..... but where will Chris sleep.... ...faded leaves, damaged leaves,... pull those and tidy the plants up......mainly cause pest will be attracted to those........Jan said she missed the violets just yesterday.....I may not show her this video......lol.

Your violets are very pretty. They always bloom so nicely. I'm attempting leaf propagation on my variegated ones. I put them in water. They have roots but I don't know how they'll do when I pot them up.Hopefully they take. 🤞🤞
