It’s a shame that it seems the comments have missed the beauty of this scene and fight Shichigoro is an honoured man and warrior,the reason he was taunting and teasing Afro was a thinly veiled masquerade because he knew Afro was what he wasn’t……a cold blooded killer
And yet, in the end, it seems like Afro MADE him murder. Even if by accident/via a dirty trick. I have NO idea what this even is, stumbled upon this video at random but I am ENTHRALLED.
Using the dj as a meat shield was perfect because the dj tried killing afro with the record by giving the green light to the soldeirs with a track. dj voiced by the RZA.
Don't get me wrong, that was one of my favorite aspects of Afro Samurai, but it was literally done like that from start to finish. I just thought there might be room for variety. I know his first journey was essentially a path of bloodshed and revenge but I can't help but think Afro could've developed into a more merciful man after exacting his revenge at least to people who weren't evil like Shichigoro.
All these bandits and novices trying to take the headband. I think Afro and Shichigoro prove that you need more than just a blade. You need Samurai Swagger.
I understand your main point, my point is though it IS fair when you consider the weakness of a chainweapon like that or even projectile weapons. Sure you can attack long range but it's difficult to defend yourself short range and attack long range simultaneously. Besides, he stopped using the chain(and was what you wanted sword vs sword) far before Afro used that cheap means of victory.
Theres the real catch. Afro couldave done that and just beaten goro and taken the headband that way but he was too devoted to following the rule of the headband and his own bloodlust.
Lol @ comments over fairness of fight. Afro is against the odds in here, he is basically being hunted down by all them goons while fighting this Samurai guy and shit including that DJ and using him as a shield just proves how smart of a fighter he is.
personally i think shichigoro is the only dude other than afros dad that could possibly kill him.....if afro didnt use that dirty trick at the end. then again its the fact that afro fights slightly dirty that makes him the better samurai. im not saying hed lose if he fought honarably just fairly like all his other fights....1 on 1...no hideing ,no decieving,fight to the death. then shichigoro would win
brandon roman no he wouldn’t. Afro beat Justice an Android hisself, cyborg Jinno and a whole lot of other mother fuckers. Shichigoro wasn’t ever gonna win.
The reason Afro used those tactics is than He desperately wants to fight #1 and He can't stand the idea of #1 being worthy of wearing The #1 Headband and such scumbag needed to be erased from existence.
That chain is actually a known fighting style, I wouldn't call it cheap especially when compared to Afro using a casualty as a meat shield. But that's just my opinion, I won't say your opinion is wrong :P
Does anyone know the song in the beginning of this video? Not Nappy Afro, the one that plays later in the video, but the one that plays from 1:00 to before they enter the city.
I'd say theyre equal, since shichigoro's chain was not exactly fair either, and given the interferance and setting, there really is no way of knowing who is truly better in complete fairness.
I see what you are saying and perhaps that would be cool. Maybe when he is much older he will develop into that sort of man. Anyway, aren't they working on a season 3? Cause wasn't resurrection considered season 2?
