At 4:04 I misspoke, conveying that Tripura was part of Assam. It was not. Tripura was a UT till 1971 and then a full state. What i meant to convey was that AFSPA was applied separately for each state as and when created. The mistake is regretted. - Mahipal

I am from Assam and I can say that 90% of extremist groups are now talks with Government and now they are sitting peacefully inside their designated camp. Rest of 10% , majority of people will not support them. But confidence building among the public is very important. So Army should be very careful before taking any steps. Otherwise all the situations will going worst. Slowly and steady after 30/40 years all the students unions, civil societies are now support our government and Army's. In the main time if Army doing anything mistakes it will be disastrous move.

AFSPA should only be a temporary measure, within a restricted area only instead of whole state, and should be subject to checks and balance. Otherwise there wont be any difference with the Rowlatt Act of the British period.

What to say? We have seen lots of innocent people lost their lives due to AFSPA since our childhood. Not a single proper enquiry has done yet. You are absolutely correct it is very easy to comment but in reality nobody is serious to remove this article. Just think those 13 innocent civilians who losts their lives. And their family members will never get justice. Just a little amount will be released as compensation. But very soon similar incident will took places some other parts of Northeast. And it will continue...

Buddy our army is the last resort can CM of nagaland or people of nagaland deal with militancy? It's easy to say remove AFSPA ..once it will get removed nagaland will become a state like Taliban .. i feel sad that our 13 citizens lost their lives , but there are so many army people lost their lives too while protecting the local civilians

@@mayankmishra8863 ok. So can you demand AFSPA in Red Corridor area of Naxal affected? Where 17 CRPF jawan were killed by Naxali? Can you justify why only NE has AFSPA and not in Naxal affected areas? Can you give me a case where anyboday from Army has been punished for Sexual harassment in NE? And yeah Taliban and insurgency are of two different things.. North east is more peaceful than UP and Bihar, Punjab.. Yoi feel sad for death of 17 civilian. Yes you can only feel sad and can't demand justice for those who lost their life.. The problem is noboday care about NE. It is like to protect integrity AFSPA is required and fundamental rights are secondary for NE people. When you say AFSPA should be there, remember AFSPA gives a feeling of 2nd class citizen to NE people along with feeling of being alienated by Delhi. Remember Pakistan exists because someone felt Alienated?? Removing AFSPA is not only good for NE people but for India also. If no removal, at least there should be accountability for actions of Army. Bu your logic Punjab should also fall under AFSPA nh? Khalistani People do exists even in a small portion.. then why no AFSPA in Punjab??

सर मुँह पर तारीफ करना ज़ुर्म है फिर भी करूँगा मैं आपको लगभग 4 सालों या उससे भी ज्यादा time से देख रहा हूँ मेरे लिए आप ही पहले teacher हो जिससे मैंने youtube पर कुछ सीखा। आपका कन्टेन्ट तो शानदार रहता ही है उससे भी ज्यादा शानदार आपका explain करने का तरीका होता है बस आप लगातार नियमित समय पर अपने video upload नहीं कर पाते है शायद यही वजह है कि आपको ज्यादा लोग नहीं देख पाते है मैंने हमेशा यही देखा है कि जैसे ही आप लगातार video डालते है तो आपके video पर view बढ़ जाते है।

The Armed Forces Special Powers Ordinance of 1942[11] was promulgated by the British colonial government on 15 August 1942 to suppress the Quit India Movement.[12] Modeled on these lines, four ordinances-the Bengal Disturbed Areas (Special Powers of Armed Forces) Ordinance; the Assam Disturbed Areas (Special Powers of Armed Forces) Ordinance; the East Bengal Disturbed Areas (Special Powers of Armed Forces) Ordinance; the United provinces Disturbed Areas (Special Powers of Armed Forces) Ordinance were invoked by the Indian government to deal with the internal security situation in the country in 1947 which emerged due to the Partition of India. Article 355 of the Constitution of India confers power to the Central Government to protect every state from internal disturbance.
