In reference to the argument as to why no elections were held in the early 1950s is that there was no constitution in place yet. The national assembly was a constituent one. It was in the process of framing the constitution which it did in 1956. Pakistan then became a republic.

Ofcourse all civil military leaders enriched themselves, their relatives, their close aides with US dollars received as charity money & grants for the services rendered. Wealth, properties of civil, military leaders & of journalists of mainstream of Pakistan in Pakistan & at abroad revealed recently speak loudly about whole corrupt ruling elite of Pakistan. In addition colorful lives of civil military leaders are too known to whole public of Pakistan as revealed by many close aides of dictator Late Yayah Khan & audio leaks of former PM IK & Mrs Aliya Malik.
