Always take decorations down after New Years. My late italian mama would always wait until Epiphany which is January 6. Living in a cold climate we have a lot of winter left so a lot of the winter decor stays up for months.

It worked! I watched your cleaning up after Christmas video Wednessday before New Years and by 10 pm the following day, all my Christmas decorations were taken down, packed away and the furniture was back in it's usual places! Thank You! I don't have my Christmas tree up until February this year and I am So Very Happy about it! Thanks again!

My family likes the tree up until after the new year so I usually take everything down New Year's Day, as I watch my Christmas movies one last time until the next Christmas. I do like to get a head start and put some of the decor away before New Years Day. I went all out this year, just felt we needed it in our family, and red is my favorite color to decorate with for Christmas, so I have a lot of red decor up. Good job on picking up and cleaning after being sick the day before. Good to see all three dogs in this video.

We take our Christmas down after the new year. Today we went out and got marked down Christmas decor, that's our thing lol. I'll purge stuff that's old and not holding up as put it away. It was fun getting the Christmas decor out this year because I couldn't remember everything we got on sale after Christmas last year. Merry Christmas Karrie, sorry you didn't feel well.

@@cleaningwithkarrie2296 there was a lot of people in Walmart, but no one got nasty. A gentleman even helped me get some garland down from the top shelf ☺. Then we went to bealls and there was hardly anyone there. We had our fingers crossed that they still had these big ceramic red cardinals and they had 2 left, so needless to say one came home with us ❤ I definitely get where you are coming from though, I've seen nasty people out before.

Thank you for the video I put my tree up after Thanksgiving.And take it down after first of the year. But will put up other decorations this week. Lot of our family did not get together for Christmas because they all were sick. With fevers and coughs and headaches. My great grandbabies to. Also my friends Husband died of Covid the day before Christmas Eve of Covid. And he was a very healthy man. And I have stayed in to protect myself and others. But I'm not feeling well. And my health isn't the best anyway. Sorry you were sick.but glad you are feeling better.

I know you like your floor cleaner, I had a H2o steam cleaner. It works about the same way and I loved it. It was easy to push it since I am older that is important to me. The floors would barely be damp when done. I could turn the head around and clean the base boards too. I used mine for I over 6 years, nothing but good things to say about it.

After my kids opened their gifts on Christmas morning I started taking down all my Christmas decor in the house and then yesterday we did the stuff outside. So now today I am spending the day cleaning the house and washing clothes. Then the next few days I have to start packing for us to go to my in laws to do Christmas down there this weekend. Then I will be cleaning and washing clothes next Monday as well like today.

@Karrie I wish the vinegar smell didn’t both you so much. That’s the trick with carpets. If you shampoo your carpets with soap, dirt is attracted to the soap residue left behind. Vinegar cleans the carpet with no after residue. It’s what we use to spot clean our carpets when our pets have an accident/throw up. Works like a charm.

My grandson got that tummy virus on Christmas morning too. And a couple of our friends. We do Christmas early with my sons family. So I took all my stuff down on the 23rd. Lol. It's sad but such a relief to have it all back to normal. Great video. Kiddos to Dylan. Bless his heart.

Glad yall had a nice Christmas! Such a good idea to reuse the wrapping paper to wrap the breakable decor. ..we've always used newspaper, but that's an even better idea. Ugh...such a bummer you had a stomach bug on Christmas, but glad you're feeling better! How sweet of your husband to let you sleep in and then take care of taking down the tree, too. We have the tineco vacuum mop thing and love it ! It's pretty similar to the Bissell one you used, so no wonder you like it so much, so far !

Great idea to use wrapping paper. Sometimes when teaching a dog to sit you have to push their butt down lol. I have the shark version of vacuum and mop but I think your blue wave is better.

Great video. Sorry to hear u were poorly on Christmas day. My son and his girlfriend got a Domino's meal on Christmas Eve, however his girlfriend didn't eat much, my son has been poorly since with sickness and having the runs. No more Dominoes for them they said. I take my decorations down on the 6th of January because that's when they are all back to work and college, then I can clean as I go and it stay clean xx

My husband, myself, our 4 year old, 2 year old and 6 month old all had covid for christmas...there is nothing I want more than to clean our house as taking care of 3 kids and a husband (he is way worse than me) has made it the worst it has ever been!!! Not to mention all the gifts still laying out!! Once I am feeling better I will definitely be doing this! Glad you had a great Christmas! Thanks for the video!

I find that xmas decore is still part of the holidays up to new years day at least. Great tip for recycling xmas wrap I usually only use the tissue paper🎄

I put my tree up December 1st and take it down January 6th, and when i pack it up I write myself a note so I can read it when I put the tree up again the following December haha, it's always fun to see what I wrote in the past

It's kinda strange (in a good way) to see how differently we live by each continents and countries. For example Americans start to decorate and prepere like 1-2 month earlier before the actual holidays than the they take everything down the very next day. But in Europe (I'm Hungarian) we start to decorate and prepere a few days/weeks before the holiday and we keep everything up for a few weeks after the holiday.

En México la decoración se retira hasta el 6 de enero por el Día de los Reyes Magos y en algunas familias más tradicionalista se espera hasta el 2 de febrero cuando se celebra el día de la Candelaria y se viste el niño Dios. En mi casa ponemos la decoración en el primer domingo de adviento que coincide con el día de acción de gracias algunas veces, y se retira el fin de semana seguiente al día de los Reyes Magos. Oh gosh Karrie I'm so sorry you got the bug on Christmas. We call it the bedrock bug, from the Flintstones Christmas carol 🤣. Last Christmas my just had it this Christmas two of our nephews had it 😵😬 when I tell you I've never needed motivation more than I do know 😉🤣🤷

Sorry you were sick on Christmas day. That 24hr stomach bug went through our house as well. My brother, my dad, myself and my mom all got it. Luckily my bonus dad, sis-n-love, their twin daughters, my bonus mom got sinus stuff because we have been having up to 75mph wind gusts, so the dirt was horrid but otherwise things were great! The pup cups are awesome. We do those for our babies birthdays!

Just now watching your video. Sorry so late. I had a 24 hour bug also. Started Christmas eve. I had a fever and chills, couldn't eat. All Christmas day I felt awful and slept. Today the day after I'm fine. I also took down my Christmas decor. Now I'm exhausted and going to bed. Thank you for the video. Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

Oh no a stomach bug on Christmas😣 we had a 24 hr stomach bug a few weeks ago but I couldn't eat for almost a week because the smell of food just grossed me out after haha. The little dog treat cups are so adorable 😊❤ btw so glad I'm not the only one over the holiday decor right after Christmas day😅🙃

There must have been something in the air because I woke up with a migraine Christmas eve that lasted till part of Christmas day. Really sucked. Hope you're feeling better.
