You're very welcome, thanks for the kind words! You can add expressions to Pseudo Effect controls, just Alt+Click the stopwatch on the property. Reference syntax is essentially the same as a normal expression control: effect("Name of Pseudo Effect")("Name of Property")

Hey Man great tutorial. Have you ever run into the the issue of making a preset where there's a stroke in the shape layer and an expression to control the stroke size? when opening the preset the stroke is not shown and is driving me insane! lol. Let me know, thanks!
Hey Angel, thanks for reaching out! Haven’t had this specific problem but can look into it if you can provide more info. Are you saving a preset from a Shape Layer, then applying it to a new Shape Layer and the Stroke expression isn’t carrying over? Are the Contents of both layers structured the same? Not sure if a Preset can create a Stroke property on a Shape Layer. It can only add effects and properties, not new Shape properties like Stroke or Path. Send some details to look into.

This isn't official support from the plugin maker, but you can click "Read Controls" to clone an existing pseudo effect, tweak it, and re-apply it to a layer. Please reach out to the plugin's dev team for any questions you have, especially before buying.
Yes! Be sure to test and make sure you don't have issues opening on another computer but they should work. Some Animoplex freebies use them, like this one: gumroad.com/l/animoplex-hexgrid
PLEASE HELP :( Can't work this on AE2019. The .xml file is not located in the specified location (Mac). managed to find it in /Applications/Adobe/After Effects CC 2019/Adobe After Effects CC 2019.app/Contents/Frameworks/aelib.framework/Versions/A/Resources/xml/PresetEffects.xml However, I can't save the edits to the file - gives "The authenticated save for this file failed (application error code: 20004)" error message. I'm stuck. Thanks, Daniel
It seems like the file does not have read write permissions. Here's a possible solution you can try: copy the file to another directory (like your desktop) and then make the changes there, then copy it back to the original location and override the existing. Be sure to make a backup when you do this and see if that works for you.

Can you specify the exact feature that's not working for you? Pseudo effects, presets, Pseudo Effect Maker plugin, etc. If you can include links to the other tutorials that would be helpful as well.
Is AE giving you that error or is it the script editor? Do you have a layer selected in the comp when you run the script? Can you share the code (or a portion of the code) you are using?
@@Animoplex 1. it is the script editor 2. i didnt select the layer 3. i pasted the example code into the xml file that you provided and used the small line that you also provided and i didnt change anything.
Try this quick test: copy the example code (no edits just yet) and run through the steps but make sure you have a layer selected in a composition in AE. The script editor is looking to apply the Pseudo Effect to a layer, it needs a target or it can't be applied. Post back with the results, let's see if that works. Good luck!
