In this video I show how to use twixtor and adobe after effects frame blending to convert 30fps or 25fps footage into 60fps video. If you follow this tutorial video's instructions you will get good results. after effects cc 2015 2016 2017 smooth results easy

I made two 8D Music videos using after effects and they were both 30 fps, I can notice a little bit of lag in them. They are Post Malone - Sunflower and Post Malone - Rockstar, those ones are in 30 fps. I will have a Post Malone - Better Now posted tomorrow from today and that one will be in 60 fps. The only downside is that when I use Media Encoder to export it as an mp4, it takes probably 20 minutes longer but that's ok. The more time you spend, the better the quality.

I´ve got some really old vhs family video on a dvd (digitalized in 2003 by my dad with nero :D), it´s in a very low sd quality with 25 fps. With detail upscaling & your amazing help it looks really really good. The Render time in mp4 on my i10 hp envie was about 30 hours for 54 min. Thanks!!

I know this is an old video, but THANKS a lot mate! I make architectural renderings and usually render in 2K at 25 fps ( which already takes a shitton of time on my ancient workstation ). 60 fps would just double my render times and kill me haha. This method is way faster and surprisingly really good. Thanks again and have a wonderful day ;)

What do you do in export settings??? There’s smth called time interpolation & it’s set to frame sampling by default. Do I change that to frame blending too? I don’t understand since we already changed it before we export

I can't check the export options right now, but let's just say that if you followed the tutorial exactly, you should export the video normally, without any added options.

1:10 In my opinion, I think the footage without twixtor is better because it looks like twixtor added in a lot of motion blur which I dont like

It’s a feature in it called motion blur compensation which is used to make warps less noticeable, but it can be turned down too 0 so it’s completely turned off

Hi, was a good tutorial. But i still having some questions, i know how to conver from 30fps to 60fps, however i don't know how to add twixtor on the project (u don't show this), and i need to add it, because in some videos i got too much warping. So, if u can show or answer this (With the configs that i need to add twixtor, like the step by step in your video), i would really appreciate it. Of course, thank you very much.

Which version of After Effects are you using? Frame blending is way worse in older versions and I don't think twixtor can help with that. If you are using CC 2015 or newer, you should not have warping if you are using the exact same settings as me in the video.

Converting real video worked well as you said, but coverting 2D animation video didn't worked. The video I rendered Breaks off and flashes. Is there any things to do when rendering 2D animation videos?

Not sure what exactly your situation is, but if you have made an animation in after effects yourself, you should only have to change the framerate to 60 in the composition settings. Nothing else.

LifeWithNick If you want the whole video to be in 60fps and the video has only sharp cuts, then you can do it after. But if you have any fancier transitions or you need slow-motion on the clips, then you need to do it first. Hope this helped!

im guessing if i want to use twixtor on this im gonna have to render my "footage" in 60 fps and import it back onto a composition that is 60 fps? how is this possible will this footage still look good once i mess with the speeds on twixtor or time remap?

If you render the footage in 60fps and insert it again to into the composition, it will definitely look good and not mess up. I'm not sure, but you could try to make the frame blending composition into a precomposition for the other one where you are going to use twixtor. That might work as well, and you wouldn't have to render it twice.

There may actually be. Usually these programs figure out quite well which frames to use to make it seems natural without any extra work, but if it looks bad, you might want to try that!

no it just makes it to where your clip only has moving frames so it’s very smooth bc there are no awkward pauses in between clips

From this I can't say what's wrong, but make sure your original footage is 25-30fps. Also do not put anything else on the clip or into the composition.

Same principle but change the frame size insted of the frame rate. Also, you don't have to click the motion blur on. Remember that 1080p footage won't look any better in 4k. It's just about the theoretical frame size.
