If you’re looking for comfortable long lasting vans with the same look as the classics, then get the pro edition of the shoes. They have more durable/better materials than the originals with an thick ultracush insole to boot
@@certifiedgoon0 go half a size up or loosen up the laces, like literally put ypur foot in without laces and tie them with slight pressure to mold around your foot width.
I do hope that Vans keeps investing in midsole and cushioning tech: there is a real market for the Vans look combined with the comfort of something like Boost/React. Vans and Converse just have so much cred and raw style.
@@Skotbro1 Yeah, let people wear what they like though. Vans have a great silhouette, I have Js and shit but once in a while I gotta bust out them sk8 his
@@Skotbro1 um...pretty sure that last time I checked Vans was a company that sells shoes and other apparel to customers regardless if they are a skater or not. People can wear what they want. Sure they might be aimed sligtly more at "skaters" but Vans doesnt really care if you're a skater or not - it's a company that makes money from selling shoes etc, they don't care who buys them as long as they're sold... And guess what, I'm wearing my Old Skool Vans rn, and I *wear them for style.* What u gonna do about that huh? Ppl can wear what they want for god's sake 🙄
Those Slip On Checkers are Surf That's why the material feels and looks different.

@Pbperez 210 No, he is a dumbass. I have the sk8 hi regular, pro, lite and comfycush. They are the same except comfycush feels like the ultrarange, pretty much like the lites but a little bit heavier.
you got the wrong comfy cush to use as a comparison, you picked up some surf slip-on shoes that's what the sf means on any vans shoe. they're generally a way thinner material in comparison to traditional canvas. last year vans released classic models in a "lite" version, they were well received but lacked traction/grip. thus scraping the lites and reintroducing them as comfy cush, same light weight shoe with added grip and a better insole.
So the only con is they don’t feel the same because they’re lighter and therefore they feel cheaper? Great review man, won’t be visiting your eye opening channel again 🤦🏼♂️
I got them for like 3 months and I need to say, that the cushening gets squishier after wearing them down a little. They are lighter, but are a lot more predisposed to scratches and damage on the midsole. After all I prefer them over the regular vans :)
Great video. Been waiting for a review from you on these for awhile Edit: I do disagree with your opinion tho. I think people should give these a try. Much more comfortable and they added some arch support which the OG's dont have. Just my 2 cents
Actually comphy cush are more durable and higher quality then the regular old schools. They also as well seems higher quality than regular vans. This guy didn't know what he is talking about.
U guys being serious? Those are specifically made for skating😂. I've worn the pros and classics and for skating the pros are much durable but arent good for lifestyle usage/walking around.
Cause most of them, the pros anyways, are for skating. Anyways the classics are not good for lifestyle because they have a similar design to the pros(flat bottom). The design is meant for mainly skating😂
The appeal of vans comes from the price and style, plus they’re good for skating. The obvious drawback to them is that they’re not very comfy. I’m personally more of an af1/jordan 1 guy but I like wearing sk8 hi’s every now and then.
The shoes design is meant for skating but it’s a huge con that they’re uncomfortable. I’ve been skating with vans for a while and i’ve decided to stop because my sessions are always great but my feet HURT for the rest of the day. I’m not an expert or anything but whatever technology Adidas uses for comfort is wayyy better. The only con is they don’t last as long as vans do. So if you want more comfort expect a lack in durability
tried on the comfycush old skools in store, felt more supportive and slightly more comfortable than the classics but I noticed immediate crease lines in the midsole. I don't think they will age nicely with wear like the classics do and I don't think it's worth a $10 upgrade from the classics, I'll just stick to the pro skate vans bc those have an ultracush insole.
Glad you did a review actually comparing the regular from the “comfy cush” I actually thought about buying a pair of the slip on comfy cush to see if I liked them better than my regular slip ons and honestly I wasn’t impressed. I by no means have super skinny feet but my feet aren’t super wide and usually my slip ons fit a little snug for maybe a week but once they break in they stretch out and are super comfy, when I tried on the comfy kush ones they felt even more snug than the regular ones(probably cause of the different cushioning). So that was an immediate con for me, and honestly I didn’t find the new cushioning to really be any more comfy than just regular vans. Sure the classic vans might be a tad bit heavier but that’s cause at the end of the day vans are still a skate shoe and they are meant to be more durable than some lifestyle sneaker. Glad someone else also believes they aren’t worth it. If your gunna spend $60 or more on vans your better off getting the pro versions of the classic shoes that have the thicker insole for impact protection while skating. Any vans with the thick insole are gunna be super comfy. Or if you want lightweight but more comfy and fit better check out the vans ultrarange line of shoes.
If you stick with the OG comfy cush they are worth it , especially the sk8 hii. Avoid the slip ons they will slip off heel no matter what size you get. If you desire low tops with comfy cush buy the ultrarange models. They are absolutely comfy for everyday usage and stylish . They even have the checkered ultrarange . They are light as well , easy to slip on , no sock holster and no break in period . Truly ultrarange is the way to go .
They’re already creased just from your on foot clip. But an upgrade to the soles on a pair of Van’s shoes has to be better than the originals. Your outro is all futuristic and ish.
MY BEST SUGGESTION IS TO RESEARCH ANY NEW PRODUCT, BEST WAY TO FIND OUT IF YOU LIKE THEM IS BY GOING TO THE VAN STORE, FEEL THE SHOE, MATERIALS, OFCOURSE GIVE THEM A TEST. I ALREADY DON'T LIKE THAT THEY CREASE. THANK'S HES FOR GIVING THE CONSUMER DIFFRENT VIEWS ON A VARIETY OF SHOES!!
seriously, buy them. you felt like they are cheap quality because you chose the lite model, and who cares if they aren't as durable as the normal vans, you are not going to skate on them (unless you are a masochist), they are completely worth the 10$ extra because they are really comfortable (i have the old skools in the normal and comfy cush version). So go buy them because they are worth the money
i have the sk8 hi in comfy cush and those are solid. Another pro is that the midsole doesn't break where the foot bends, if that is something that bothers you
I've had countless pairs of standard slip ons, a handful of pairs of the pro/skate slip ons, and 1 pair of comfy cush slip ons. The comfy cush were BY FAR the least comfortable 🤷♂️
I purchased the van comfycush distort shoe and I actually love the shoe so comfy I purchased Black on Blanco that says off the wall in bold print they are super comfy again .
Thank you for the review HES! Been waiting to hear an opinion on these from someone I can trust. From the reviews I'd read online the major problem experienced by consumers are that there are major heel slip issues with the slip-on comfycush. Did you experienced this HES?
Okay I think there’s a lot of good points but tbh he didn’t really talk about the new comfort itself, I tried these on in store and I was very disappointed, I admit I am used to boost, so maybe it’s not a fair comparison but when putting them on in store it, as he said, felt very cheap and wasn’t nearly as comfy as it should be.
Just a nit to pick, you shouldn't really call the foxing tape around a vulcanized shoe a mid-sole because it's not a one. It's just tape, and it binds the outsole and whatever serves as the mid-sole (if there is anything there) to the shoe. Even if there is something that serves as a mid sole, it's not the tape.
So these are like the slip on pros but softer? I’d be interested in a comparison between those. I like the classic slip one but I put a heel insert in them for the comfort. For what it’s worth my favorite shoes from vans are the various laced pros, or the pro version of the regular old schools. I forget the name of the shoe, but I have some Vans that are basically old school pros with vented sides that are incredibly comfortable, my favorite summer shoe
Got a pair of the Kyle Walker Coral Snakes. I only have a few pairs of Vans and always forget that they are a bit narrow for me. The Coral Snake will be a tough break-in since they're leather but the Cush is actually rather nice. They have a few non-traditional looking Vans now that I want to try out (like the UltraRange Rapidweld) because they look a bit wider. I think it's worth trying. If you're a Vans fan, you probably already have a pair. If you've never owned Vans, you should try on a pair in store rather than buying online right away but yeah, buy the pro models, not that newer, thinner canvas. On a side note, people saying your opinion is wrong make me laugh.
Vans have a very hard, stiff outsole, no comfort at all, I can't where them for along time, comfy cush is the reason why I got back into Vans, company should keep making them and in more cw's.
I agree with you. I own 3 pairs of vans but the problem of the shoes are the soles. The soles tend to get flat like if you’re touching the ground with your bare feet. I recommend getting comfy cush if you need that comfort. I will buy one soon
Have you ever tried the Pros? with the ultra cush? made for skateboarding and also pretty comfy, I use those insole in other skate shoes. Classic are trash and only posers buy them or people who don't know much about a product before they buy it as long as its trendy and looks cool.
you forgot the major con, the collar cushion that make the shoe tight and and stable. I really those without make my feet easy get out and a hard time skating
I have a different pair of vans I used for skating and they got thrashed, but they are not the regular version either, they were s special lite version that i didnt like. I should review em honestly the upper ripped even.
@@heskicks thank you. I've always loved vans for skating and bmx riding but I hate how the upper rips. I've grown to love suede and other leather ones for this reason.
I would recommend comfy cush as it feels bouncey and feels great way better than pop cush. Also pop cush usually weres out faster than comfy cush. Like after walking in it for a month for the pop cush the insole bottoms out and looses its comfort.
I like mine. They did run narrow and there was a day or two break in time for them to feel "comfy". And I have yet to have any durability issues yet and I have been wearing them almost every day for the past couple of months.
@@icecoldcaller they lasted roughly a year before they wore out. Right now I have a regular pair of Slipons and a pair of Skate Eras that are in regular rotation. I think the Skate version is my favorite so far, as long as you do not mind the extra weight for the added durability.
Hes! Great video, but I just thought I'd let you know that those aren't the classic Slip-Ons! Those are the Slip-On SF, SF meaning surf. There was a change in upper material to make it lighter and more surf like, I guess lmao. There are the Classic Slip-On Black and White Checkerboard comfycush for sale with the canvas upper.
Why not just get the pros? They're made for skating so they're durable af and the insole is designed to jump down stairs. It's suuuuper comfy and soft.
They are more confortable but less durable, the "not rubber thing" midsole is EVA Foam, the rubber is thiner on the outsole so sooner or later you Will be drifting on Eva. The all sole is narrower that the upper and that comes with breaking points problema
barely more comfortable than the og vans bro... they just added arch support. im sad i bought cc at all. vans pro so much better if were talking strictly vans
I like them, but I only wear them for work. Where I have a sit/stand desk and carpeted floors. Definitely wouldn't recommend them for skating, feel like the grip tape would eat up the sole pretty fast
I have the skate high bmx Scotty Cranmer that has c9mfy Cush in them and the only difference between skate high is bmx model is 5 times more comfortable.so this review is only for the vans slip on.
I don't really understand the durability aspect. I've been rocking a pair a while and they hold up just as well as a normal pair of vans. I treat my shoes with no respect either, especially vans lol.
So I have the pro model old skool with the comfy insole also have the regular old skool and also have the old skool lite which was a comfy Cush version vans tried to endorse but ended up discontinuing and bringing the comfy Cush.. the pros with comfy insides are cool but with my fat foot they look disproportionate and all over the place now.. my regular old skool hold its shape.. the lites are the same soles as the comfy Cush and wow they are comfy but midsole looks like shit with all the creasing.. so my bottom line can’t go wrong with the old skools ..
1: Who wouldn't trade discomfort for comfort? Are they even human? 2. The shoes are light and primarily made for comfort. To say it feels cheap and looks like a knock off is harsh. GR vans aren't durable and feel cheap. They're infamous for their mid-sole separation after a few wears due to the cheap glue used to hold them together, whereas the Comfy Cush are constructed in a unibody design which results in a more polished shoe. If you're in search of more premuim and durable Vans, then the Vault Line is the way to go. Afterall, the line was releasing OG quality shoes long before Nike's inception of its "remastered program", all the while providing its costumers with poorly made shoes. Y'all bitched about it, but you still bought them. 3: The model you have is from their surf line(if you fold in the back, you can wear it as a slipper), so of course the material will be different. You should've done more research before you made your purchase. Also, there is nothing premium about GR Vans. 4: They are narrow from the start, but as you wear them, they will eventually stretch to accommodate your feet(I'm a wide footed individual). When that happens, you wouldn't have to wear "really, really thin socks". 5: Your final thought is mute due to your overwhelming ignorance about the product. I can't take a Vans review seriously from someone who primarily wears Nikes and Adidas.
Yup I agree with all your points. His lack of knowledge in Vans' products makes this review look bad. When he pulled out the surf version instead of the regular Comfycush Slip On, I already knew the vid was a big nope. I just watched it to see if he did enough research or knew what he was talking about lol
@@CaliKiid714 Hypebeasts should stay away from anything that's not Nike or Adidas. Whenever they do a review on a different brand they're not used to, you can smell their bias and ignorance.
So they are definitely worth buying then, if you use them for BMX or mountain bike. I only use Vans because the waffle design helps me stick to my pedals. The only thing they lack though, is comfort when I land and feel the pedals shock through me. I will definitely try them. 🤙🏽 🤙🏿 🤙🏻
Lighter and softer doesn't mean cheap and less durable! Actually every shoes I buy in some very high quality brands (and I don't talk about stupid popular sport brands) are light as a feather and soft as a cloud inside and outside. And yeah, they last and last and last. You should know better if you are making shoes reviews.
Lol. What a dumb review. Ive owned the same pair of comfycush vans era for about 3 years. And I can tell you. They last. They are FAR more durable than traditional vans. They do not destroy your feet when you’re wearing them in. And they are the most comfortable vans that I’ve owned.
I have comfycush and regular Slip-Ons and the comfycush is leagues better. Once you wear a pair of comfycush vans the regular ones feel like walking on concrete... Get the comfycush ones 100%
