I got one tooth extracted yesterday and my dentist was like: "Don't eat hard foods like cookies or beans. And take pain medication because it will hurt" That was literally all he told me. Yesterday I was sucking and suctioning without knowing my blood clot was washing away in the process. Thank you for your tips, you were much more helpful than my trash dentist.
@@Gabyg007 Most dentists are lazy... This video is clear. A new blood clot will form when you stop bleeding with a gauze, and bite on it for 30 minutes to an hour.
The tea bag worked. This thing bled ALL day until I did that 😶. He had a really hard time getting it out. I mean that sucker was in there for life! Poor tooth. I should've taken better care of you 😿
@@venzarez-ili680 i lost my mole tooth BC of how I terribly looked after my tooth, I fell the same😟😥😔 I wished that I looked after my teeth better too...
Mine was also hard to get out. After 4 pieces, and crackling noises, it finally got all out. Now I’m here boiling water and about to steep tie tea bag, let it cool and place it on there to make sure no more bleeding.
Thank you for sharing this information, Doc! My dentist was very patient and nice to me and my tooth during the extraction, but she didn't give me any guidelines, do's, or don'ts to observe during the recovery, so thank you for this informative video! I watched this prior to the procedure, and I am following your instructions and others as well religiously. ❤️
Hey guys i just got one of my upper back teeth removed and 2 extra strength tylenols helped right away & continually changing the gauze 3-4 hrs after , slurped mashed food down my throat and i feel good! You got this! Blood is normal and eventually lets up
Just got a tooth extraction done yesterday. Blood clot is formed, this has helped me so much. I removed the gauze but my mouth feels so funny coz I can fill that something is missing. I will have to shred all my foods into small pieces when I'm able to chew food. For now I am eating soft foods and only have them lukewarm as I don't want to burn my self or have food stuck in the socket. After a few months I'm going to have the other tooth removed so I can have no cavities and start saving up to get tooth implants put back into the empty spaces.
I received an extraction and bone graft today about 5 hours ago, and I am experiencing some pretty severe pain. I haven't eaten anything and have only had water. Is severe pain normal? I took over the counter meds and hasn't helped completely.
@@TheToothRestorator Ay doc how long would yu recommend me not smoking for it been 7 days I got mines worked on a week ago day 8 would be went I went can I smoke or would you say wait another week it looks a lil darker now than before when it was lighter yesterday
I got my middle molar at the bottom right removed and my wisdom tooth on the bottom left I been watching video saying 72 hours and stuff but I ain't feel it was ready yet
I agree with a lot of the commentators here. Had my lower wisdom tooth surgery and upper wisdom tooth extraction just last Monday and all the dentist tell me was that the tooth is completely out then the nurse just told me to change the gauze every 1hour (no instructions on how to change either)(had to search RU-vid for that), no hot food or spicy food and that's about it. This channel gives better info. I've been sucking ice water using straw for the next two hours after the next 1 hour without me knowing the risk. Thank goodness I found this fast or I don't know what else would happened. Going to see a different dentist just to be sure I'm okay. Coz I do feel a radiating pain on the extraction area..
Thanks. I'm having an extraction tomorrow, and this was useful preparation. The teabag is a useful suggestion. I can currently only drink if I let a cup of tea go cold to body temperature, so the used teabag will be useful as well. :) This is my first extraction since 40 years ago, so I'm naturally feeling anxious!
Is it normal for your cheeks to get swollen (and look like a chipmunk) the next day? I know the icing on and off helps, but am unsure if the swollen was this much.
My doctor didn't even say anything about gauze, a nurse just said "some people some times feel blood on their mouths after the surgery, of you do, just make a ball with gaze and bite on it". So after the surgery for at least 6 hours I didn't wear anything, and it was still bleeding. I couldn't feel the blood because of the anestesia...he also didn't tell em anything. I just hope everything is alright
My right side uppertooth was extracted before 3 months.but still paining severely..and the severe head pain at right side .can you give me any suggestion please? Is it is dangerous?
I was terrified to get a molar removed due to an abscess, omg I can honestly say it was a breeze, for me anyway I know everyone is different but the removal itself took no more than five minutes and my dentist was very gentle, I felt a little pressure and a little crunch and it was out, I was then prepared for lots of pain after the anaesthesia wore off, I waited and waited and nothing, kept taking the painkillers every four hours just in case, but honestly don’t think I needed to, clot formed straight away started eating soft food, rice pudding, soup, yogurt for first two days, on day 4 healing is going very well, and eating more solid food but trying to avoid chewing on the extraction side I’m still a little nervous lol….I’m very happy how it went and all the worry and stress was really not necessary, good luck if you have a procedure coming up hope it goes smoothly for you like it did me 😊🙏🙏
Dentist had one huge long green container for nitrous. I questioned assistant. He said regular nitrous leaks thru nose mask, this does not. ???????? I did not smell that sweet nitrous sent nor feel that familiar buzz.
I get 2 molars 1 on the left and 1 on the right pulled tomorrow. Seems like bone broth will be my go to meal. 🙄 thank you for this video. I've never had a tooth pulled and these are due to bone loss as I've never had a cavity or a root canal. 😕
Great tips ! But I would like to add another few tips here. If someone is on hypertension medications, and one of the medicine is a blood thinner (for example "Cardiprin") please stop your blood thinner at least 7 days before going for the tooth extraction. The rest of the hypertension (high blood pressure) medicines remain taking. If you're a long term hypertension medicines taking person, (example myself had been taking for 12 years), best is to stop the blood thinner 2 or 3 weeks. Myself, I'd stopped my blood thinner (Cardiprin) for 21 days before I went to get my tooth extracted and implant. Fortunately because of I'd stopped my blood thinner for 3 weeks, during extraction it was very little bleeding. But the rest of the hypertension medicines I remain taking. And other tips are, stop using normal toothbrush. Buy a nano soft bristles toothbrush to brush teeth, cause normal toothbrush's bristles are too harsh when brushing. And select a good toothpaste specially for tooth's issue like Sensodyne. It does help a lot. Don't use normal toothpaste like Colgate, it doesn't do much except just general cleaning. Whereas Sensodyne toothpaste heals the tooth to right inside of the canal (root) and also the gum. A day prior to the tooth extraction, get some sleep. Although it's stressful, worryingly, nervousness and extremely anxiety, but think it this way "It's Rather Get It Done Once And For All Than Keep Suffering Everyday, Regardless Afraid Or Not, It Will Be Over After Tomorrow". And sleep lowers your BP, if your BP is too high, you may not able to get the dental procedure done. And here are a few things you may need to prepare. 1) Gauge (for biting on the wound and to stop the bleeding), besides gauge, you may also use a tea bag. Best is green tea bag, soak it with chill water then squeeze it dry and place on the extracted wound and bite on it. It does help to stops the bleeding. 2) Rock Salt Dilute the rock salt with hot water then adds room temperature's water, if it's still too hot, may adds some ice to cool down the water. Use the diluted rock salt water to rinse your mouth after eating or drinking. It helps to eliminates bacterias or infection. 3) Get ready with some pain killers over the pharmacy's counter. The few good and effective pain killers are :(1) Ibuprofen 400mg (2) Paracetamol 500mg (3)Ponstan 500mg (4) Naproxen 550mg. These pain killers does a big help in reducing the wound's ache. Except antibiotics you can't buy over the counter. But I remembered I was given Amoxycillin 500mg, and it's a controlled drug. 4) Get "Gengigel" Gingival gel and it's mouth wash. This Gingival mouth wash and the gel helps to relieve pains and reduce inflammation, also soothe, restore and protects cavity. It has no side effects, and it's not a controlled drug, easily to get from any pharmacy. The mouth wash helps to eliminates bacteria that may cause inflammation, each time after eat, rinse mouth with it. And before sleep, apply the gel a moderate amount on the extracted wound, it helps to reduce the pain and heal the wound faster. Or you may apply the gel several times a day as needed. This Gingival gel really helps a lot. 5) Store up some soft foods or something easy to eat. Example like breads, buns, oats, soy bean milk, fresh milk without sugar. Or if you knows how to cook congee, may take congee (porridge) as well, but chew slowly on the other side. For myself, I survived on breads and oats with soy bean milk for a few days. It was alright for me. If you're taking congee, do not take it instantly after cooked and still boiling hot. Wait for 10 - 20 minutes for the congee to chill down and it's lukewarm. Do not drink alcohol, carbonated drinks, coffee, or tea with sugar. Drink lots of water but may be chill water, but not icy cold water. Do not drink hot water. Before going to the dentist / surgeon, have a solid meal. But chew carefully. Cause you want to make sure you had your meal before the dental procedure and you can't eat after that. When comes to brushing your teeth, brush the other side, do not brush on the wounded area. The wounded area just rinse with Gingival mouth rinse or use Sensodyne toothpaste with your fingers gently rubs on then rinse away with water. Lastly, is true you can't smoke (if you're an addicted smoker). But, I have a mild suggestion for you if you can't live without cigarettes. Place a gauge on the wonded area and bite on the gauge, instead of smoking cigarette, choose to smoke with electronic cigarette / Vape temporary. The differences between a cigarette with a Vape are, cigarettes are with higher nicotine, and electronic cigarettes / Vape are just aerosol and vapor. It contains nicotine but lesser. This is just a temporary solution for people that really really can't live without cigarette. It's better than nothing. After the puffs of the Vape, rinse your mouth with the Gingival mouth rinse immediately and throw away the used gauge. Place a new gauge if needed. If doesn't need a gauge, just apply the Gingival gel on the wound to prevents inflammations and keep the wound clean for it's recovery. The reason why can't smoke after a tooth extraction with a wound, is to prevent dry socket and grows with inflammation. It this occurs, you definitely needs to go to your dentist / surgeon again to get the dry socket remove. This procedure it hurts very much. So, the consequences are on your own choice. But best is smoke less for the first few days and always keeps the wound clean.
Thank you so much. You explained the care of this dry socket after I had a Marijuana cigarette. 4 days later. So far no problems. On my fifth day. Thank you.
I brushed my teeth 8 hours after my tooth extraction ( my 1st upper right molar) and it has stiches!! I didn’t brush around it but the toothpaste most definitely touched it…Will it cause any complications or infections? 🤞🏻
it’s been about 9 days for me and i had a few extractions , im not having any pain it’s just very hard for me to fully open my mouth it’s like i have lockjaw .. is that normal or should i bring that concern to my dentist !?!
Hi can someomen help me. I would like to ask if is it normal that blood may stay even if it stopped bleeding. And I can see white something above the i think blood clot. Pls help me
"No exercise" you say? I was scared of pooping for the 24 hours after extraction.... But went to work next day no major disruptions... 😂🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 I got my wisdom teeth extracted a week ago, but now I have mild swelling in my jaw, I guess my body trying to fight off the infection naturally. I didn't take any antibiotics before extraction or after, I can say it healed well but the pain seems will take it's time to go, mainly feels muscles around the mouth becuase of holding for the 15 minutes trying to dig out my tooth, and tonsil area pain and very mild pain in my jaw line. Fighting infection I think my body will take time.. will wait till 10 day..
HELP! I just want to know if I can use my toothbrush on my extraction site to dig out possible food particles. It’s been around 12 days since I’ve avoided brushing it. I’ll keep rinsing for now. I Can rinse pretty vigorously with no pain…
@@chinhuilee7136 i got 4 removed yesterday. did you still taste blood in your mouth even after your blood clot formed? im having trouble tellingwhen ive stopped bleeding
Just extracted one wisdom tooth yesterday. My dentist was on point including staying 9n soft meals and salt water. I have no pain except little discomfort. But I've decided no eating- I don't know why I'm so nervous to out any food in my mouth
Did your doctor prescribed Opiod for a pain reliever. I'm just curious to know because I have to have my wisdom teeth extracted plus two others but I don't want to take Opiod.
@@ceo3877 not sure if you've had that work done yet but some do prescribe an opioid however you do not have to take it. The pain for me after all wisdom teeth got extracted and 2 were impacted I was fine on the ibuprofen they prescribed me! If they only provide an opioid you can take an over the counter med if you don't want it.
Thank you for Sharing This Video, I Had My Upper Left Wisdom Tooth And The One in Front of it! At Night I Still feel Bleeding and I Didn't Have Any Gauze To Put in .is it Safe To Just Leave it Out? Until it Stops!!
I got my tooth removed on Monday.. N after having medicines yesterday 3 times a day.. Today morning I got blood clot near my stitches. Is this a problem or what
I had a bottom extraction yesterday..it looks reddish, with white and gray color. The dentist said it was sitn right on nerves, and was kind of difficult to get out.
i had 2nd molar extraction 2days ago and my palate turns black and now i feel pain and saw yellow spot in my palate. my gum that inject the anesthesia still paining. i cant eat. pls help me what should i do?
Tooth next to wisdom tooth pulled and packed for implant later. No pain. But I keep bleeding. Haven't eaten because of it. Called nurse line and told me to try biting on gauze. If keeps bleeding I'm going to Emergency room.
The sutures at the extraction site are like SHARP NEEDLES poking my tongue. This is not tolerable! I have been holding a small piece of bubble wrap between the extraction site (bone graft included) and my tongue for the past 3 days. I tried dental wax also. Frankly I cannot believe that dental professionals send you home with such sharp objects in your mouth! I guess you make a knot and cut the suture close the the knot, this results in tiny sharp daggers that are very irritating to the tongue. That suture material is like fishing line!!!! It is very sharp!!!! Either make some device to wear between site and tongue, or use a different suture thread that is soft!!!!! I am concerned that the wax is suffocating the extraction site, but I cannot deal with the pain underneath my tongue! The bubble wrap didn't work as well as the wax, it kept moving. Please share any ideas you might have. My suggestion would be to invent a soft suture material that doesn't poke people's tongues.
So why would my tongue be swollen after? Please someone explain to me. It’s been 7 days after and I’m in more pain. I followed everything that was instructed to me. The dentist office all they want to do is send me straight to the emergency room
How has it been? I got mine pulled five days ago and I'm finally able to eat good foods again like mashed potatoes. I really miss tacos. Have you started eating normal, crunchy or hard foods yet?
I got a question, do you get severe pain if your wisdom tooth's roots are weak or strong after there are removed? Because i have a impacted wisdom tooth that is scheduled to be surgery removed 2 weeks from now and my wisdom tooth's roots are weak and based on my own Oral Surgeon's words, he told me i dont have to worry about it.
Thank you for sharing. This was very helpful. So I have my 4 teeths extracted today, 2 from upper jaw and 2 from lower jaw. I guess I was more afraid of the numbing injections given in the areas of Teeth extraction, different areas inside the mouth including the roof of the mouth, i almost passed out because I hate injection. Immediately my Orthodontist put back the wires in there, have it tightened and then with a rubber band at both sides of the teeth closing the upper jaw and lower jaw together. So that's double pain 😢. My mouth is kinda of bloody right now. The injection Numbness made my mouth and lips looks and feels like a balloon is now finally wearing off. But am in pain right now, but my other worry now is how am I going to eat with this messed up teeth, because am really hungry right now. My 4 extraction area was stitched up, but thank God they used the non removable stich, so I wouldn't have to sweat about them removing the thread and causing me pain. They told me to eat after the numbness has worn off which will be more than 4 hours later.
I am 15 just got one of my lower molers removed the day after I had a fever no and numbness in my cheek and it's now day 4 and I realized I have some exposed bone on the back of the extraction site and it hurts tho I still have my blood clot I don't know what to do should I go back to the dentist?
Total removal of all my teeth 10 years ago by the VA and I started having constipation or some horse since I didn't receive any dentures that fit right no I was wondering if that would be common problem with not being able to chew your food properly? Thank you
Right after my procedure the numbing wore off 5 mins into my car ride home insane pain felt like they were still taking my tooth out couldn’t sit still they didn’t give me any pain meds ended up falling asleep after smoking weed through my nose woke up with minimal pain
Thank you so much Doctor I a extraction done since last Tuesday I still have a little blood coming out in it and it’s smell do you think that’s normal please I need your answer please thank you 🙏

Those who have never had a tooth abscess or cavities will never know how to look properly after your teeth also when there's a problem, solve it now and dont leave the problolem otherwise the problem gets bigger
