Boosted Media Are the color of the wires on my stock amplifier the same what you’ve identified in your video? I have a 2012 BMW 650 convertible. I’m new to this so hope you don’t mind providing some advise. I want to add a second amplifier to get addition bass. Thanks.

I have worked in car audio in years. I'm a mechanic today. Anyway... I always created my own remote wires, by splicing an ignition wire. After testing them, to find the one I want. Is there any reason you know of, that I can't do it to this car?

Considering installing subs in my F30. Do you experience any electronic faults due to the power draw from the battery? Is it advisable?

I’m sure that it would work for non-Logic 7 E90s as well! I think all BMW 3 series models from this year have some form of amp in this location. Just look up the diagram for the wiring harness for the amp model you have and tap in the same way! Thanks for the comment!

The speaker wire and power wire should be long enough! I had about 2 feet of leftover wire.

@@DEVINE.IMAGE. Nope. I'd recommend wiring an actual remote wire to the HU. I uninstalled the subs entirely. Hated the gas cap rattle.

I pulled the clip as far to the right as I could with my fingers, and then had to pry it out the rest of the way using a flat head screwdriver. Just be gentile, and it should slide and pop out with a little more pressure! :)

Factory amp will be hard to replace because of the fiber optic wire (logic 7 systems), but it’s doable. I would recommend these two websites to get started: bavsound.com crutchfield.com

Correct the connection gets complete when you unlock the doors and power on the car but the loc also has constant power as well it’s not solely running off speaker wire. I believe there is no draw until the car is powered on.

The remote wire will go from your line out converter (I used the PAC audio one) and connect to the remote terminal on your amplifier.

The BMW logic 7 system doesn’t have a remote wire natively.

And does changing the amount of bass on the I-Drive change the sub bass? Sorry I’m new to aftermarket subs

Hey man! Thanks for checking out the video! The way I installed mine with the PAC audio LP7-2 converter, it sends a remote wire to the map and my map turns on when the car is unlocked and on accessory The BMWs with iDrive and/or Logic 7 systems don’t have a remote turn on wire which is why you need a converter like the one I mentioned to turn on the amp when the car is unlocked And yeah! Turning down the bass through iDrive turns down the bass on the aftermarket sub due to the fact that you are tapping into the bass signal wires. Therefore, turning it down through iDrive gives less subwoofer input to the amp! Hope this helps!

@@boostedmedia1812 im still trying to understand exactly how the convertor acts as a power switch. Does it turn on when it gets signal from the lines its tapped into? I just dont understand how else it would get a signal as its plugged into the amp.

You will have to remove interior trim and tap into the wires heading directly into your base system's subwoofers! As far as I know, some bimmers have the base subs under the front seats or sometimes on the deck below the rear window!

Why is the stock system so shit. I don't even have tweeters but there are 2 shitty subs under the seats.

As far as I know it should be pretty similar, not 100% certain though.

I would not recommend this, power wire is designed to carry the extra power supplied by the car’s battery. It is usually thicker gauge and insulated to protect against fire.
