I wanted to sayThank You!! I was pulling what’s left of my hair out of my head, And I found your video which was the most straight forward to the point one there was, and now my 2000 Tahoe has an aftermarket stereo! Again thank you!
thank you, as you stated that lil pink wire was to blue was my problem hopefully, it's cold tonight will try to connect in the morning and hopefully get back to you and tell you it worked.
Thanks for the video bro. Just finished my install on the Avalanche. I knew i was going to need another harness once i saw the extra connector. Hooked everything up nice n no sound. You saved me some $$$ and time. THANKS AGAIN.
That pink wire is the factory amp remote turn on so yea it’s not bypassing it, it’s actually just turning on the factory amp so the music flows thru the factory wires
I just started having the same problem with my 2004 Yukon xl I was like what the hell is going on thanks man imma fix it later on this week and my touch screen radio it’s a pioneer it’s really old we had it installed in the early 2000’s
We needed to replace a misbehaving stock radio in our 2001 Suburban. After seeing the many wires on the old unit, I did lots of research before the swap to a new aftermarket radio was done. By far your video was the most helpful because it addressed clearly what could have been a major problem. Our new radio works perfectly, every speaker in each door plus the tweeters and bass speaker in the rear compartment sound just fine! Many thanks to you!
Hey that didn't work om mine. But i did bypass the the factory amp completely by disconnecting the amp and buying two Metra 70-2002 plug s depining them and jumping the speaker in to the speaker out. Look up tahoesteve amp bypass it will give you what you need. Beside what you doing is useing the amp . If you want better sound and aftermarket speakers the factory amp will make them sound bad. Do the bypass and all will work and sound great
I think you gotta get power to factory amp. So like some eles commented you get one of those blue wires to somthin with power like the red wire. And your good to go. Dont connect it to yellow because thats a constant 12v. Red turns on with car
I don't have the solid blue wire I've only just got the remote wire the blue and white and that's it but I've got the exact same setup as you I've got a suburban which is the same underneath the dashboard as what shoes is but what word I hook it up to if I don't have this to solid blue wire
Mines weird, i only lose amp on AV in ( use for Onn tv streaming stick and screencast mirroring to radio. ) AM, fm, Sirius, aux, dvd etc all work fine??? Mygig RHR in 2010 Ram with lockpick and av adapter. I already tried to replace av adapter but had same results?? If blue wire is for amp, i splice in and ground it ? It worked fot weeks then suddenly stopped ???
What I did was install a line converter to the rear stock subwoofer so I can have rca connectors then installed a small sundown audio SFB600D and mounted it to the side of the stock subwoofer box. Connected power and remote and now I can run a external subwoofer box, I still have the stock sub hooked up to the trucks sound system so if I pull that box I still have some bass. The good thing is that its all under the panel so you don't see anything I even installed a speaker cup connector to the panel so I don't have to take off the panel to disconnect the speaker wire.
@@ElGordo107 hmm only thing i can think of is maybe u have the wrong wires? Have u checked for duplicate colored wires maybe theres 2 pinks or blues or something?
Dude... I hit the same issue in my 2001 Tahoe. Thank goodness I found your video because now it's working. I would have never guessed blue to pink! Thanks for putting this up!
Hey bro so I have the same situation in my 03 Sierra 1500 but I only get sound when the switch is on and I don’t get sound when I turn the whole car on can you tell me what it is?
hi I'm having a problem with a Boss Audio amplifier, I put it in my truck and it has the rock, class, flat, pop, and eq off settings. When I have it in every setting but eq off all 4 speakers work, but when I have it in eq off only the drivers side works, could you tell me what's wrong.
This little trick works perfectly👌 splicing the blue antenna wire from the aftermarket harness into the pink wire from the smaller On-Star harness worked like a charm. Thanks again dude!🤟🇨🇦
Will this work on single din also? I'm having this same issue on a 02 Escalade no sound. I just have the blue and white wire no solid blue. It's a sony cd player, but I do see where it looks like someone already sliced into the pink wire. Do u think I should try connecting my blue and white wire to the pink?
Dont know wat adapter u dont have and it would be alot easier for me to see what u have u pretty much have to connect that pink stock amp wire to a power source its kind of like ur remote wire on an aftermarket amp.
Hey i have the same issue but not that issue. Earlier today i was listening to music just fine and have been for months. And usually I have to turn the deck off then back on for the back shelf speakers to work so that's what I did today and as I turned it back on none of my speakers were working and got no sound. But the radio was on and everything. It does have a factory amplifier in the trunk of the car that came with it as well. Wondering if that went bad? Hope you can help!!
@@ListoPalDesmadreRacing hmm it would seem kinda odd for all speakers just to go out like that randomly at once. I'll still check that tho as well. If not that then more than likely factor amp?
Well u could have burned them just double check to make sure if amp is also good then u might have a loose wire or your wires heated up and melted just double check those things
Yo bro similar thing happened on my cobalt ss 07. I didnt switch back to the factory yet bc this is a recent problem. I do have a factory amp, and even my turn signal and door bell sound doesnt work. Do you think its similar to this?
The unit and harness came from a friend in an 07 comablt different model. His worked. My radio, amp and boppers worked before installing. I hooked the unit up to my ignition switch. Everything works on my car except sound, no signal sound, no door lock sound.
dude i have the same issue but i just looked and i dont have lose blue and pink wires, was concidering replacing the stock amp with a better one but not very experianced in this, i have a 2000 durango btw
@@ListoPalDesmadreRacing so took a pic of my wireharness aftermarket of course but i cant upload it here, i have a red wire is the same as the pink but both are already plugged in, thoughts? would it be easier to just change amps?
@@heresjohnny4836 well if u change amps u are going to have to run each speaker wire from all directions to new amp do u have instagram fb tik tok somewhere u can send the pic to me
Where did u get and how can I get the pieces that are on both side of the stereo? I have an exact same one and I’m trying to find one so it can hold it with no problem, please help me man!!!!
Yo bro it’s simple fix man Go online look up your radio harness make n model for your vehicle then find a picture that matches up the same colors as yours and look for the “Radio On signal that’s what tells the amp to turn on
@@CressidaWrench u know to be honest this exact unit has been working perfect i tried to order a similar one not worth it i took it out my truck but this exact unit is great shows song and artist and it hqndles all my rockford fosgate door speakers well
I had a shop install my aftermarket stereo and I’ve got sound but very low and no base so you’re saying they probably didn’t connect the blue wire for the factory amp?
