This video saved my sanity!!! I literally did the same things he did (multiple harnesses, head units, ect.) and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. watched this video and thought "it couldn't be that simple" well sure enough it was and now I'm enjoy the tunes in my car again. Thank you for finding this solution and sharing it.
I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Had the same problem when I installed my radio. Lights and all functions worked, but got no sound. Tied in the power antenna and the power wires just like you said, and I got sound! Thanks a lot, man! Def saved me a costly trip to the audio shop.
Awesome information! After watching this, I went out and tested this successfully! I've researched this for close to a month and this did the trick. My local radio would work but no digital sound. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you sooooo much for this great video!!! Literally saved my day! ! I bought a pioneer radio, all the lights were working but no sound. I followed your advice and it worked on my Honda Accord 2000!
Ahhhhhh, thank youuu! I've been reading and watching videos for 2 days on and off and YOU just fixed my whole problem!! , very much appreciated that you took the time to do this video! Thanks again
Thank so much!! I was working on this for an hour already but you saved me hours of troubleshooting!! I never would have thought to do this! Thank you!!!!!!!!
GLAD I FOUND THIS VIDEO! I just replaced an Infinity stereo on a 2000 Durango with an Alpine, and after doing this for over 45 years, THIS was the FIRST time I got NO SOUND after a head unit swap! Like you, I went online and found out the same thing; that the signal from the deck speaker wires FIRST go to the factory amp, THEN to the speakers! Well, I can NOT find even ONE wiring diagram that shows the exact same wiring colors as this 2000 Durango has, so I figured what I would have to do next would be to just run speaker wires from the Alpine to the speaker wires coming OUT of the factory amp. Makes sense to me. Until I saw your video! Now I'm going to take a second look! This Durango factory harness is a little different than yours looked but not much. There is a black plug and a grey plug. I never thought to look on the top of a factory deck for the wiring diagram! In fact, most factory stereos don't have this because the stereo was already hooked up at the factory and they assume you don't need to know how. But when I go back to finish this job, I'm FIRST going to look at the top of the factory stereo I took out to see if it has this diagram! OH, one question I didn't see in your video: after you connected that blue wire with the red one, did you then connect them both at the other end of the butt connector to the new deck's red wire? I'll let you know how this all works out, but you answered my question!!!
Thank you so much I have been spending 4 hours trying to find out why my truck has no sound after watching your video I tested everything and it worked thank you so much even Pioneer could not figure that out
Took me a whole day went on you tube asking for help(typing why there’s no sound on my 2003 toyota sequoia on after market radio)and nothing about my toyota sequoia i give up for a few hours went again and ask a similar question and again nothing i was about to take it to a professional to get it installed but when i was ready to go to bed I searched on the internet and took me to this video on you tube and learn what my problem was, thank you so much now i got sound and found out that i need new speakers too🤪🤪
Omg! You are so freakin awesome!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! If it wasn’t for your video, I would have ended up taking my 98 Dodge Dakota RT to either a Dodge dealer or a professional stereo installer. You rock!!!!
Thank you so much! I’ve been going over all of the connections and asking everyone and anyone if they know what to do and your video was the missing link, THANK YOU! I am working on my 01 Intrepid Motorsports r/t with infinity speakers for anyone else whose working on this particular car
Your are an absolute bloody legend, this fix my after market head unit in my 2003 Chrysler Grand Voyager, as I wanted to keep all original wiring in case I get rid of the car, all other videos and advise were taking the amplifier out and changing wiring seemed like way too much work for a head unit. Mate your a legend 👍👍👍👍
Dude thank you so much for this video. I'm over here in 2019 pulling out what little hair I have left trying to figure out why I couldn't get any damn sound from my 03 Ram with the infinity package when I swapped the radio out!! Much appreciated.
Thank you very much. I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty that has that exact same radio. I thought it must have an amp but I could not find one. Bought used so we had no real idea. The impedance of the speaker wires were WAY higher than normal speakers. This fixed my problem and I appreciate your taking the time to show this.
Thank you so much! I ran into the same problem with my 2002 dodge intrepid and my friend found your video and fixed it for me you saved us so much time and hassle very grateful for your share 🙏
Hi I just had to tell you thank you so much. We bought a new stereo for my son for Christmas and have been trying to get the speakers to work for 2 days. You are awesome Thanks again
Omg!!! Idk how long ago u posted this...BUT I need this today!! I've been trying to figure out what the issue was for 2 days now!!! I did exactly as u did and BAM!! IVE GOT SOUND!!!! UR THE MAN!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you I've been hooking up my own radio and amps over 20 years and this is the first problem I ever had This should be the first video that pops up
Thank you so much been looking online for hours then I came across this video by typing in radio turns on but nothing coming out of speakers. You helped me so much. I have 96 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo with the infinity gold system in it
Hell yea!!!! I was super upset when I wired everything up correctly and had no sound, thanks to your advice I plugged in those wires together and fixed my problem!! I have a 2003 grand Cherokee overland.... I think this problem should fix 2002-2006 jeep and other Chrysler Manufacture cars
Thank you!!! Helped us with 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. When we first installed.. it would come on, lighting and everything except the sound. No sound. Until we watched how you wired.. sound started working!! Thank you again!!!!!
This was very helpful you saved me from spending a ton of money at the store that were trying to sell me thing that wasn't even necessary. One wire who would of thought
THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! fixed my problem 100 percent!!! only difference is I used my power to amp wire from aftermarket harness. But totally helped me and I am so thankful you took your time to do the video!!!! have a great one!! 5 years later lol
Wow bro u have no idea what iv ben through with this same situation. Thank you so much for figuring this out and making it out to those of us that have gone through it 👍
Thank you very much for the video. Somebody stole my radio and I could not figure out why there was no sound until I watched your video. You could have put it at the very beginning however I did not mind waiting until you specifically said which wire to hook up so that I can have some sound :-)
IT WORKED!!! I have had no sound out of my stereo for a month since I transferred my aftermarket stereo to my 2000 Dodge Dakota. I had an appointment with an Auto Stereo place next week for a $150 fee to find the problem. You just saved me a ton of money and it was so simple! Thanks dude!
I just finished getting defeated by time and sunlight has now gone. I came across this video as I did some research to help me with my problem of having no sound and I feel a lil bit of hope after watching this. Going to give it a try I have a 04' Chrysler pacifica with no sound after the aftermarket installation
Thanks for posting. Have 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Different harness set up. BUT, using your idea as a foundation. I noticed 2 wires that didn't match in color. Upon closer look noticed both wires stated power antenna. Attached That did the trick. Worked. NICE.
Geez Lew-EEz I should have just spent the 100 bucks to get it done like i did me other vehicles but it was like 10pm when I decided to install an old stereo. I hooked it up and same proble. No sound. Figured I hooked it up wrong so undid all the wires and the next night which was tonight I did it again. Same problem. So ended up taking it all apart again. Found another stereo in my closet (actually found 2 more) Was going to try again tomorrow when I looked to youtube and found you. I bet this is the same problem I'm having. Thank you bud. Im over it at this point. This truck isn't my daily drvr so maybe 1 more time. IDK, I might just have it put in professionally cuz every time I try to save a buck it costs me aggravation
Bro bro bro bro... it worked bro.. most definitely.. much love bro it was so simple bro, factory amp still in the whip, wires still connected thru harness and tunes only flow from the radio thru the factory amp and into the speakers..( the blue wire gives the factory amp power to come on and music to flow to the speakers) but bro big thanks!!
Niyaana Ngu Hey I'm having issue with my poineer, power to radio but no sound now I no I should connect the blue/ white wire from the pioneer to red power wire but then what do I connect the red wire to? I tryied to put all three together but it didn't work.. please help.
actually I'm not trying to be a mr. Know it all but the correct correct way to install it would be on the back of the aftermarket radio it has a blue wire with a white line usually that's the remote wire for an aftermarket amplifier if you were putting a whole sound system in your car so rather than grouping them together and pulling power for the head unit and the factory amp off the same circuit you connect the red ignition wire to the red wire on the aftermarket head unit like you're supposed to and then you connect that solid blue wire from the harness to the remote wire on the back of the aftermarket stereo which then in turn does the same thing when you turn the car on the head unit comes on and then that remote wire on the back of your head unit sends a signal to the amp to turn on the same as if it would send the signal to an aftermarket amplifier
@@m0ney_mase50 basically you hook it up the same way he's doing but rather than hook the blue wire to the red wire like he did you hook the blue wire to the blue wire with a white line typically on the back of your aftermarket stereo which is also known as the remote wire
@@m0ney_mase50 and also just a little bit of heads up I actually installed a stereo in one of these trucks last week with all of the proper aftermarket harnesses and everything and it did not work I basically had to end up just taking out and eliminating the stock amplifier so with that being said just keep in mind that it may not work.and as well believe it or not the comments are actually correct that's why some people say that it's working and some people are saying it's still not
bro you saved the day!! 2002 Tahoe, and I had that extra blue wire that everyone else was say to connect to pink wire from amp. I have no pink wire. I tried bur to power, BAM!!! KUDOS BRO!
Hey thanks alot bro I have a 96 jeep Grand Cherokee and I had the same issue.could not find a solution anywhere..you saved me thanks so much for sharing
Thank You Thank You Thank You...My Radio was giving me hell, who knew this simple fix would work...although i feel stupid lol im definitely grateful for your knowledge.
Wow, thank you so much for creating this video. I saw that auto antenna wire and I deliberately left it disconnected because I don’t have an auto antenna, so I figured why would I connect it? Going to give that a try I think it should work.
great vid just to add to it theres a module you can get to keep your can bus system working properly all the dash warnings and key off memory stuff its pretty much necessary if you want your computer to keep working properly if you put in an aftermarket head unit. also the amp is usually on the wall behind the panel at the front passenger floor area some have them some don't
