Many people in response to todays video recommend this charity as being the best way to donate to the victims of Hurricane Helene www.samaritanspurse.org/article/pray-for-those-in-helenes-path/?Ggl&YGND-B24V&HurricaneHelene&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpP63BhDYARIsAOQkATYUT53b0JfRHSUhd4P80pA2-geuz15ytyMfmFx3srRfgxDP_6C3ckIaAjJoEALw_wcB

The markings on the vehicle/buildings work as follows. Single slash = search in progress team in building. Vehicles this is not needed obviously. X with writing in each quadrant works like this. Top is time and date, right is list of known hazards present if any, bottom is survivors and bodies recovered displayed as 0/0 hopefully or 1/0 and left is search teams id tag. Hope this helps you.

I wholeheartedly agree with supporting Samaritan's Purse! Not only do they have experience responding to all kinds of natural disasters domestically and internationally, they have the infrastructure to fly out supplies and have many crews in multiple states responding to the needs of residents.

A young RU-vidr took a hike back into Chimney Rock and got to speak to some of the clean up crews and residents. Amazing video! Hey, can you check on the railroad? I heard it was annihilated in many sections.

Samaritan's Purse is a good organization to donate to. They took tons of supplies including 2 tankers of gas to Georgia. Prayer continues especially for those who lost loved ones, and for those who lost their homes, job, business, pets, eldctricity, water, heirlooms and access to services & goods. Be strong. You are not alone.

We are about an hour and a half away from you. The devastation out here towards Burnsville is unreal. Our community is amazing and the help we’ve had from other communities. Thank you for sharing this. I’m comforted in seeing your face. We all survived although we almost lost two of my three sons and my husband. Most of our animals survived. We lost the roosters and older hens in the back yard when the river rose. It came to the bottom of the top step to our upstairs. My house is built well. We are blessed. So glad you and yours are safe.

My sister and brother in law live in Asheville. They still do not have power, but, otherwise we're blessed to make it through the storm with only some downed trees. Water must be boiled, but they have bottled, too. They ate their first hot food in days days at a Chick fil a that had managed to open. She said it was like a gourmet meal! My heart goes out to those who were so less fortunate.

No disrespect meant, but there are far too many corrupt individuals who run the big "charities" such as "the Red Cross" and "Salvation Army". OF COURSE they're going to immediately set-up a web page for "victims of hurricane Helene"......I'm telling you, I know people who worked for these corrupt "charities" and they warn against it. Only a tiny portion of your funds actually winds up where it is truly needed. It's so disgusting, it's despicable. DO YOU SEE ANY VIDEOS OF "THE RED CROSS ON THE SCENE". NO, YOU DON'T. But the INDEPENDENT organizations ARE ALREADY THERE, who truly know how to deal with such disasters and use 100% of YOUR donations for 100% aid, supplies, food, water, medicines, rescue, recovery, and restoration efforts are groups such as "Free Burmas" at: "freeburmarangers.org"......Cajun Navy at: "unitedcajunnavy.org" and US Mens Academy ( an actual local group to the areas hit hardest ) at: "usmensacademy.com" ........these are just 3 of many GOOD independent organizations where you can be assured ALL of your donations are being used the way they're supposed to at the specific areas needed.

I live in Asheville, within walking distance of the Swannanoa River. I am beyond grateful that my family and I were not harmed in our home. We have been without Wi-Fi until today. Due to the safety roadblocks, I have been unable to walk or drive to these footage areas. I knew that it was bad, but this damage is horrendous. Seeing this is making me sick 😭. However, I appreciate the footage; it will buffer the shock when I see it for myself within the week. This town is pulling together, and we are helping one another, but there are also looters and criminal predators. Prayers and donations are greatly appreciated by all of us. Bottled Water is like gold to many, to include myself, because we will be without it for at least a month or more. 🙏💕

Without the full walking tour with your comments and the industrial sounds, the devastation would be ‘abstract.’ The severe losses to people’s livelihoods, the loss of jobs, income, resources is beyond mere belief. This will take extraordinary amount of manpower to remove the debris, let alone how people will be able to buy another car to get to work. It’s staggering what the force of the wind and water did. Asheville is one of many towns and communities impacted in 6 states. Staggering. So sorry that everyone has to face this, and I’m glad that you took the time and effort to make your video for us. Blessings to all from Berkeley, CA.

I would definitely recommend giving to the Mercys Chefs charity organization. When we had historic flooding in Eastern KY they helped immensely. Giving food out 3x daily to everybody in the counties. Our hearts are breaking for all of you. Everything looks unrecognizable. I'm so concerned about all of the people that are still unaccounted for, and ones that haven't been rescued from their now isolated homes. We have quite a few towns, here in Florida, going up our gulf coast, that have also been devestated. My husband and I live in the middle of the state, so fortunately, we were unaffected. When you are able, bring Jen down to Atlanta to see the High Museum's quilt exhibition that opened in June. Thank you for sharing the situation in beautiful Asheville, there is nothing worse than water. When there is a fire, everything is gone, but when there is water, everything is ruined. So devasting.

Hi Jacob…. My name is Kris. This show brought back so many memories of Florida when Andrew Frances Jeanne Ivan Charlie and even David from 1979 hit Florida…. I am a native here but I seem to stay here because it’s my home. My heart truly goes out to everyone and I’m donating as well because without the help from neighbors way back from those storms mentioned, I may not be here. God bless all in this time of need. Faith have it. Hope have it. Pray…. I cried throughout this video. But it’s reality. Mother Nature is powerful. Come together one and all. Rebuild a stronger village. God bless!!!! So glad u and Jen are safe and your family and other families. We pray from south Florida for you all. Much love and please if you can fellow Americans donate if you can anything. Love you all. God Bless….

This reminds me of something. There is a creek on this property that used to have one of those concrete dams that could be driven across. Eventually it deteriorated so either it broke apart itself or someone busted it up, not sure which. So, one day in summer I was walking the dry creek bed and I found this big chunk of the concrete dam the size of a small car about a mile away smack dab in the middle of the creek bed. The water had moved it all the way down there.

It’s so important to see the reality of natural disasters and the impact that it can have on a community. This is eye opening and really makes me grateful for the things I have. So often we take simple things for granted and some people have lost everything. Thanks for posting these update videos. This is real life and worth sharing too even if it’s not fun travel videos. Happy that you and Jen are safe.

Jacob wow 😢 prayers for all! The markings on cars meanings: Top quadrant is the date searched. Left quadrant is initials of who searched. Right quadrant is hazards, and bottom quadrant are bodies found 0DB = zero dead bodies or 0-1 equals zero survivor, 1 dead. 🙏 ❤praying for all affected 🙏

Thank you so much for this. My brother lives in Asheville and it took 2 days to get ahold of him. I haven't really been able to talk to him because of the spotty cell signals and no power, it's so much worse than I imagined.

Thank you for sharing this footage. I think it is important to document when disasters like this happen. I cannot fathom what it must have been like to live through this. My heart goes out to everyone who were affected by this storm.

Thanks for doing this. North of town is just as bad as south of town. This was not normal, no one saw this coming. Flooding yeah, but nothing like this. Everyone I know up there is ok, so I thank God for that and really feel for the folks who lost literally everything including friends, family and animals. The helicopter community, yes that is a thing, showed up big time. The outpouring from around the country is encouraging and pretty amazing.
