I have lived in Killabakh, (northwest of Taree) for 26 years. My property is absolutely gorgeous and is surrounded on three sides by Killabakh Creek. Apart from the horrendous bushfires in 2019, I have never felt so alarmed in all my life by this particular flood event. When the creek is "up" NOBODY can get in or out from my property (unless of course, they are travelling by helicopter.) Due to the constant rain in the months leading up to this flood crises, some mould had started to build up inside my house which exacerbated my asthma causing significant breathing difficulties. I then developed a fever (indicative of a bacterial infection} and the onset of bronchitis, which I have suffered from in the past and became quite unwell. I realised that because I had no home/mobile phone or internet connection I was either going to have to improve sporadically or...die. I suspect people reading this will be asking "why didn't you just ring 000?" Yep, I would too but the answer is, I did and it didn't work it just said "No Network Coverage." I don't live in the middle of the bloody desert for crying out loud! This whole experience is something that I don't want to repeat any time soon. Your footage was absolutely heartbreaking but beautiful, nonetheless...I would love to see more of your work so I have subscribed. I will show my two sons and daughter (all raised right here in the Manning Valley) your video as well and they can show their friends. All the best Sam.
