Once again, the privilege of joining you in your kitchen and your garden, has uplifted my spirits! I now feel so peaceful and happy❤. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

OMG, I pulled the cookbook right off my shelf and found the recipe. It was not my grandmother's cookbook, it was my mom's and she has all kinds of notations within the book of the cakes she made. FYI, my mother got a kitchen aid mixer in the 1950's. I have had mine since 1986. I have fond memories as a little girl of standing on a kitchen chair and looking down into the kitchen aid bowl knowing that I got to lick the beaters when it had done its job. That same kitchen aid sits proudly displayed on a prep table in my kitchen. It provides memories of my very loving, cake-obsessed mother. BTW, I'm 63 and also in the Hudson Valley. Happy baking.

I had to laugh when you mentioned my grand parents might be your age. Mine were born in the 1800s. Later in the video, you mention your beautiful home is 200 years old, I thought wow, born in the same century as my grand parents. That cake looks so light. My grandmothers, and mothers electric stand mixers (1940-50s) were very heavy and were on a lazy susan and the beaters were aligned over the platform offset to have turning action. Good old days. Good morning from Germany .. I had a wonderful calm and inspiring breakfast while watching your Video... Again today my son Nr 3 is having another match fighting for trophy of European Football League and every time my nerves need calming down- Your garden tour was what I needed..... Because of your videos I got inspired and planted tomatoes parsley( I make your signature parsley every other day basil thyme peppermint strawberries rosemary chives and-I love -while cooking-just to popp out and collect the ingredients.... All your advices and instructions I followed.....and all is prospering Now this cake of today seems delicious and I will try of course. Kevin-you are very important to us-your followers...you bring joy and calmness in these stressful times. I have an aquaintance who owns an ice-cafe in this historiscal little village that I now live in.. He plans for this year...NOT to close down for winter whrn all touriests are gone...but keep it open for the locals. He thinks of offering" cake in glasses" and sandwiches. My friend Köti was asked to prepare those. Now we will go through all your cake recepies and reflect which ones would work...because your fine decorations as finish would not work in a glas I remember your wonderful Pavlova-recepie..delicious in taste-great in name and looks for me-being an ex-ballerina. Now I heard about a PAVLOVA-called ETON MESS That could be eaten in a glass ..because-as the Saga goes....rhe students of Eton dropped a Pavlova and put the destroyed dessert in a glass It looks wonderful and Käti and I will try your Pavlova-recepie for the taste and continue further.... I will let you inow;if it worked and if so....one of my students will do a little choroegraphy in point-shoes for the opening from the ballett GISELLE....because the story takes place at the Rhine-embankment....where we live and where the Cafe is. I’m from your school of adding the cream to the cup first but we would both be booted from Buckingham Palace where the cream is always added after the tea is in the cup. It is then stirred in a back and forth, not circular fashion, soundlessly. Your gracious videos are very civilized and relaxing.

My winter squash didn't produce as well this year as last. I'm tempted to try for another crop with this crazy weather we have now, I just might get lucky.
