I opposed this, it doesn't say he loves his wife it was never included because Scott wants you to find the piece of the puzzle. Or he seems he wants you not to understand William behavior of killing the kids people think will is neglected his kids and others don't but like I said you have to find that out because that's what Scott wants. Although William was a scumbag pardon my language. So this further takes the idea from the book and the game.
But that’s not canonically cannon as it’s not shown she’s even in the picture so she must have been loved atleast once or else William wouldn’t had have kids,unless there adopted that would explain why they don’t show Mrs afton in the games
