What about the funding? All the money the government pays to support your roads, mail, schools, and paychecks. Give me a break, this many without logic is incapable of common sense. He should NOT be training anything. Let alone getting paid by taxpayers money.
I am beyond disenchanted with the process. Have you heard of Uncle Tom? Well, I think there are a lot of Aunt Karens who will surprise and disappoint you.
You can tell they didn’t learn anything in 8th grade history class. I picture these guys as the school bullies who were “too cool” to learn anything because they already knew it all. Grossest of the gross.
They don't answer because they don't agree on talking points. All they know is "I have a right to carry a gun and hang out with my homies looking scary." Stuart Rhodes was an attorney. Other than him, I doubt any of the rest have ever actually read the Constitution they are so much against.
The problem with these sheriffs is that their largely too stupid to know the Constitution, federal or state. And their behavior bears that out. I think all law enforcement of all ilks get a constitutional refresher. I've seen the sheriff's act like god. And that my friends is downright evil. It's illegal. It's unconstitutional and it needs to come to a stop...
You don’t have to be smart to know what SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED MEANS but in America we only care about our rights and not others. It’s absolutely pathetic what the left has done to our country with lies and gaslighting.
Have you made an effort to educate your own sheriff or yourself on the constitution or instill morals, ethics, values and principals. Sheriffs are indeed quite powerful, only the people of the county they're responsible for are more powerful than them as we elect them and supposed to work w/ and help them. He or she is the last line of defense of the constitution. Things were much simpler way back in the day to engage w/ your community but the people have over time been removed from the political process in general, instead we cry online and on the streets and listen to online gurus, alt media heads where it goes nowhere. We don't engage in the real world anymore (meaning police, congressmen, etc) and so America is dying a slow painful death. You're just seeing something you don't understand about your own country that these sheriffs are trying to exercise and you're reacting emotionally. Yes the police need a lot of work but so do the people.
@@westonstaufenberg7278 well, maybe if you would do those things and or not those things. As for me, I'm doing just fine. Not susceptible to any of the bullshit you just talked about. Online gurus? I don't do gurus. Nor do I do bullshit. Which is mostly what you wrote. One bad sheriff is enough to ruin the whole deal. And don't tell me they're superheroes because they're not. We need to get rid of the sheriff system in this country. Nine times out of 10. They overstep their bounds, both constitutionally and otherwise. And yes, I know the Constitution and the rest. You should quit Assuming so much. Might help you make a friend. Don't get me wrong, You waxed eloquent.. and it might seem Draconian, but as long as there's cops out there and sheriffs out there violating people's constitutional rights, they're all wrong.
@@westonstaufenberg7278 oh, and our country isn't heading for any kind of a disaster. That's rhetoric for the gullible. Republicans use it to scare their constituents in devoting for them. And as long as we can keep away from politicians like Donald Trump, will do just fine. Republican and Democrat.
@karenbacon2 White supremacy and anti-Constitutionalism, IMO. These groups want all the rights afforded by the Constitution, but they twist what they don't like to suit their own needs.
Texas: complete distrust of our federal government. Also Texas when a total eclipse is coming: declares state of emergency and requests help from the federal government.
There are too many people in this world who have never been outside the county they were born in. They completely lack any perspective on how the world works.
I see that so clearly. I am an Asian who moved here in 2012; I have lived in 3 states so far (East & West coast) and have visited over 30 states, been to almost all major cities (Philly, NY, Chicago, SanFo, LA, Las Vegas, Orlando, New Orleans...) and I see a pattern of world views in relation to travel. This country is so incredibly vast, gorgeous and diverse, I wish its citizens would travel more, starting with this land called America and then check out the rest of the world. If not doable, read, read, read - be curious about history and other cultures.
I would have been narrow minded, judgmental, stubborn, and think I have no need of the rest of the world too, if I stayed where I grew up. USA travel is important, but world travel will really let you know that you are ignorant as hell. Your statement is spot on and surprised others do not see the heart of the issue.
@@margaretreynolds4394 As someone who loves to read, I agree with you - partially. You can read about all kinds of things and all kinds of subjects. I am never going to climb Mt Everest but I can read about it and watch RU-vid videos of other climbers. That said, reading is at best a second-hand experience and is often tainted with writers' opinions. Reading about French food is not the same as going to France and gorging on it.
I just see a bunch of guys mad they never had the skills or stones to rise above the office of sherriff of small pond USA. And after lifetimes of failure believe they should be kings. Pathetic.
I only did because I did not want my son if he chose to go into the military to not be left behind by their possible Commander in Chief. Especially after this video showed American Violence. If Clinton was willing to give up on those few men who fought to live in Benghazi. Especially when we had assets in the area to help them at the time. For 14 hours those men fought until they could not. It was the only reason I voted for trump. After I voted I regretted it immediately. I did not vote trump in the last cycle. Had the Dems put anyone but clinton up I would have voted Democratic.
I understand your decision and realize the struggle. I too was conflicted about voting for Hilary Clinton for the same reasons. What happened in Benghazi was an absolute travesty. @@NAFO_MythicPlague
I find it highly irritating that people who already have a comfortable amount of power- like white male sheriffs- are the ones who seem to feel the most alarmed and threatened by a status quo which actually favors them.
I’m very sorry it took me so long to find this program. One thing that stood out to me in the meeting videos and photos, like when I see reports on the Sovereign Citizens, Maga gatherings, school board hearings full of angry people, militia groups, etc. - is that the participants are overwhelmingly, like me, middle-aged white people. They scream about constitutional rights and freedom to choose how to live your life, but they mean THEIR rights and freedom - not anyone else’s. I guarantee all of these radicalized sheriffs will not lift a finger to “protect the people in their county“ against the federal government if those people are black, brown, Muslim, LGBTQ+ or anyone else who does not fit their narrow definition of “people like us”. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of grifters like Richard Mack, Donald Trump, Rupert Murdoch, and so many Republican leaders who will stoke middle aged white fears, anger and need to feel special in order to make a buck and gain a little more power.
@lanedebbie Your assessment about protecting YOUR civil rights is spot on. Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, and especially Amon Bundy's NeoNazi group are deeply white supremacists. No room for the rest of us.
Except when religious people lead civil rights movements (Martin Luther King Jr., Baptist minister, and others), defend the rights of Native Americans (Fray Bartolomé de las Casas O.P., and others), discover the beginnings of the physical universe (Monsignor Georges Lemaître, and others), or create art (Bach, Michelangelo, the Parthenon, Angkor Wat, Ise Jingu, etc., etc.) The Bible has been considered as flawless by believers, that's why it is quoted authoritatively. Has Mr. Hitchens' thinking ever been officially considered as flawless? It appears his disciples have just replaced one religion for another one. That quote is a fallacy of composition and a gross generalization based on prejudice.
I’m looking into whether or not Cecil Co. Maryland sheriffs department follow this doctrine. I endured a dicey pull over that culminated in sheriff yelling at me that I was a liar ( I wasn’t and sheriff didn’t let me speak one complete sentence) pulled his gun and made me wait for search dog. All was in order .. so he gave me a ticket for … littering.!!?? $500 fine. I took a day off work, went to court … cop didn’t show. I was just happy to have fine dropped.. wish I had a lawyer.
All I can say as a former law enforcement officer in Ohio is God help us. This stuff is insane. Those that want less government intrusion into our lives want to control every other aspect including how we identify ourselves and what we are allowed to read. Very troubling trends in this country.
@wojo802 Thank you for your service to your community. These guys do and will push the law as Far as they can. Stuart Rhodes was a lawyer. He's got people believing that white supremacy and sedition only violate OUR Constitution, which only pertains to him if he thinks his rights are being violated.
Not true. I want less government but I’m neither a conservative or liberal. I took an oath to the constitution and know exactly what SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means and the left knows even a mouth breather knows what that means. The left hates anyone that doesn’t trust the institutions that brainwashed them into thinking everything is fine and no one will ever take our rights. Remember Ruby Ridge.
It started way before that in 75 Military Officers were BRIBED by criminals at the World Bank to sell Drugs and Guns to the Working Class, and use EXTORTION of resources from Nazi ideology Technologies. All of it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and against the LAW !
As a Texan raised in California I'm both disgusted and heartbroken to see my birthplace destroying their people. I understand how many citizens agree, some are my cousins. Unfortunately Texas needs to secede from the Union, cut all government funding. Texas has had some shady history and it all comes to light again. I thank my dad for taking us out of Texas for these exact reasons.
That Bundy Ranch standoff was so stupid! All the government wanted was a fee- for private use (and destruction, via grazing) of PUBLIC land. This was asking too little of ranchers from the start; the total selfishness of wanting to use a public natural resource for one's own financial gain while paying nothing for the privilege should have been an embarrassing proposal to anyone.
@erinthesystem9608 Exactly!! Look what cattle ‘ranchers’ have done, and continue to do, to OUR Herds of Wild Horses, Buffalo, plus all other wildlife and predators that have been roaming free since the beginning of time… because they want all the delicate and nutritious plains grasses to go solely to their cattle… so they go in on weekends or even bribe officials to notify them if they’re being watched- so they can round up trucks filled with herds of these magnificent and ancient creatures then sneak them over the borders into Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered and sold for their meat!! Some ‘ranching’ (poaching) families have made millions from butchering herds of our plains wildlife alone… and the profit they make from freely grazing ’their cattle’ on Our Lands is just icing on the cake!! It’s sickening to think of the narcissistic insanity behind their unhinged demands of entitlement!!! And every GQP administration since Ronnie “Ray-Guns” Reagan has gone along with it… to the point of eliminating the restrictions on killing Wild Horses and the Buffaloes!!! Now I can truly empathize with the Native American People who had their way of life completely destroyed and devastated because of “white man’s greed!!” The long term goal of these psychotic charlatans is to completely take over the lands which they’ll claim as their own… along with any remaining Wild Horses and Buffaloes, which they’ll eliminate to make even more room for cattle… which compacts the soft loamy plains soil into a hard mass that cannot support anything but noxious weeds that depletes the few remaining nutrients needed by any grasses, which quickly transforms that earth into a nearly lifeless desert!!! It’s no coincidence that most of these lands also have huge deposits of coal, oil, natural gas, and minerals they’ll exploit the land for as soon as it can’t support or sustain any substantial amount of wildlife or wilderness!!!
51:18 And then the reporter should have said- "That's not how the First Amendment works or did you skip the part of the Constitution about free press?"
Holy moly, this should be a ep. on every channel in the country. Dateline, 20/20, 60 minutes....etc Great show/reporting. These same people support Tom Coleman in Tulia, TX (look it up. yes it was 60 min.) Pulitzer Prize consideration.
i live in idaho. hold on its getting real. we have christ church in our neighbor hood. this is not a joke. we need to educate our kids and keep an eye on them so they dont get recruited.
we have checks and balances for a reason. law enforcement, the executive branch, enforces the law. Leave the interpretation to the courts. Sherriff's need to focus on serving their communities, respecting and enforcing state and local laws. Im so sick and tired of these my way or the highway attitudes. Thankfully i believe its generational and is receding. These groups know their values are not that of the majority and they are trying to hang onto the last bit of power they have. I see good things on our horizons.
@@LisaPhillips4494 There definately are more good than bad people, but too many good people of all ages don't know how to keep their guard up against exploitation of their good intentions by recruiters who want to radicalize them. Let people know that extremist ideologues campaign peacefully until they feel they no longer have to or should.
@@LisaPhillips4494 Unfortunately Lisa, the bad guys in this situation don't care if you're a good person if you have something you want. They are more dangerous than people want to believe. Google Amon Bundy and Stuart Rhodes. His Oath Keepers played a major part in our Jan 6 insurrection. They'll do it again.
The water tower said it all, “history lives”. You can’t live in the past, or the future leaves you behind. There are few certainties in life, but one certainty is, nothing stays the same. I noticed it was 99% male, caucasion, and aggrieved.
"Self-described constitutional Sheriffs assert that THEY are the supreme legal authority with the power and duty to defy or disregard laws THEY regard as unconstitutional. " 😠
There was a task force that studied domestic terrorists. However, the republicans dismantled it during Obama’s presidency, when they took control of house and senate. Our DOJ is limited in how they can investigate “domestic” groups like this. If these were foreign terrorists, it would a whole other story.
Amon Bundy has been fighting the State of Idaho, FBI, DOJ, Bureau of Land Management....for decades. He's been arrested, been jailed and ran unsuccessfully for state office. He is a scary piece of work.
It's what you call, "Making up your own rules." There is a simple solution, let the DOJ investigate and take appropriate action, then will see how tough these 🙀's are.
I'm in NH where many law enforcement are of the same mindset. Hell, I have a neighbor who works for Merrimack Co corrections and his house displays a lot of Nazi stuff like Mein Kompf, weapons, etc
Didn't ANY of these guys serve in the military?! If they did, they'd know better than to commit insubordination this way. CHAIN OF COMMAND & structured hierarchy is there to prevent F-ing chaos in a conflict or war zone...which is very nearly our present domestic situation, unfortunately. If they're veterans, this makes for some insidiously evil behavior.
The fear and trepidation is apparent in the voices of those who disagree with these sheriffs. That fear is real in TX these days, for people who just want continued normal adherence to the law.
No lawman, police officer, sheriff or other such gets to say "I will enforce only the laws I choose". He or she MUST obey and enforce them all or none at all. These officers are the sheep dogs of society and society must bring them to heel or they will run feral and begin eating the sheep.
What happens there with you gus in the USA is kind of similliar to germany...history repeats itself an seem to have the abilty to "adapt" and "tryhard" for a new aproach to maybe compensate or even erradicate a former "error". In Gerrmany its also a "special" movement that claims an own version of legislature: these call themselve "Reichsbürger". For a very good and historical reason here in Germany we can not get into such "trouble" as the people of the USA have atm - so its a very big challenge and the world is watching you guys from the great USA who have once saved the world from totallyrism and tyranny. USA looks more than ever like a "we wanna bring you democratie wannbie" instead of a honest bearer of freedom and liberty... pls forgive me if I harmed any grammar or wrong spelling..
There's only one reason I feel a bit better after watching this. There's still people out there that respect our rule of law and cherish our Democracy. If you love God and Country do not vote for Trump who wants to take it all away and we will be answering to the Trump family for many years to come. Save our Democracy and Country. Vote blue💙💙💙
I have an old friend. I do mean old. Haven't talked to him in 15 years as he became more and more extreme. He was an oath keeper. Until January 6th. Then the organization changed it's name. But it's still the same garbage.
Our Sherriff in Brevard County Florida is also involved with this organization. It is petrifying. I have asked a million questions about this, and all I get are crickets. Everyone should be scared about this and start working to stop this madness
I saw a movie that left an impression on me. It was called Betrayed with Tom Berenger and Debra Winger. It is about this. I’m going to watch it again, tonight in fact.
how can anyone live in a state with lower taxes, lower criminality, good weather. Yeah, it must be hell. LOL. You liberals, are the reason americans are the laughing stock of the world.
I was looking for the Meidas Touch Network's (MTN) new documentary called _Against All Enemies_ and I'm not sure if this is the same film since this predates the recent release and it might just be a coincidence that they have the same title. Regardless, I just watched this video and it's very eye opening and disturbing. Sherrifs are elected by the people they have a duty to serve and protect and are not supposed to just make up laws! These extremist, Christofascist, white nationalists need to be voted out of office! Same with all the far rightwing MAGA Republicons who are seriously trying to turn America into Gilead! The Handmaid's Tale is a work of fiction intended as a warning and wasn't meant to be a how-to playbook for authoritarian theocrats!
I thought Sheriff's authority was pretty limited, sheriff department personnel are usually restricted to county jail supervision . What Richard Mack suggests is insane. He walks around with a gun. That's his only weapon
When I was commissioned peace officer in Texas the governing office was TECLOSE not TCOLE ( Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training) perhaps it's changed?
It’s bewildering, even though one sheriff received an email sharing warnings about the CSPOA, he attended a training session with them. When questioned about it the sheriff responded saying he didn’t know Mack was a former oath keeper 🙄.
The 'sniper' on the bridge pointing through a T Wall is just plain ridiculous. It highlights the amateurism of this group and how dangerous they really are. All the gear and no idea.
Was thinking the exact same thing lol...his ability to shoot at more than like 1 target shooting thru that little crack in the wall, funny as hell. Made for an easy "I'm a GI Joe" pic. Not to mention the sight limitations. What a bunch of clowns!
