In 1867, an ancient manuscript was discovered in Athens containing a polemic, perhaps the last of its kind, against the rising faith in Christianity. The identity of its pagan author is still contested, but a certain consensus seems to point to a philosopher named Porphyrios (Porphyry), who wrote during the twilight years when the Roman Empire was fading into the coming Middle Ages. It was called "Against the Christians" and was written on the dying breath of a culture... the Greek Culture.
