"It’s a song that is close to me in many ways. The idea was developed during a time when I was very interested in schizophrenia and the mentally ill. The sample was taken from a documentary I watched whilst taking a 'domain of the sciences & society' course at the university. We were studying medicine and the mentally ill. We watched this video (from the prof's personal library) and I was incredibly moved by the son's conversation with his father. I wanted to use it for Sculptured originally, but this track really provided a better opportunity for it." DON ANDERSON
Amazing! This vid was uploaded at the time more or less I found Agalloch. I was 16 or 17 and now I'm 30... and still looks like "tomorrow will never come"...
This song....that guitar with those mad ramblings over it (which are pretty heart wrenching and sad) and that noise in the background...my god what a bleak atmosphere. Agalloch are the masters of creating atmosphere
When asked about the self titled song, "Tomorrow Will Never Come", Don Anderson said: The idea was developed during a time when I was very interested in schizophrenia and the mentally ill. Hail and a toast to wonderful bands such as Agalloch , Virgin Black and Graveland indeed. Bands with an original sound are all too rare in the era of Lady Gaga, Katy perry ,and Britney spears where a provocative image is valued more than its artistic value. I will continue to sing my praises of their music, even if they were to start lynching people. the music is what I love, not the peoples ideas. I plan to fast for the end of agalloch when it finally comes, and sing their praises on the street
In my psychology class they showed the footage of the son with schizophrenia in this song, it was very shocking to recognize the dialogue, this song obviously pop into my mind, I've been looking for that video for so long and to see it in my psychology class was very odd and shocking this song sure has a lot of feeling and meaning to it
@PartVIII Cos we were getting 20 gunshots that night and I couldn't figure out where they were coming from I went out everybody was shooting everybody, there's a lot of stress in that city, in Detroit as far as stopping crime if you wanna stop the crime you better talk to john nichols cos he knows what he's doin.
@PartVIII That's the least of problems, there ain't no fun out there killing people no. I've got a certain amount of common sense I know the precedence of morals, whether you believe it or not you've taught me a lot. Don't worry if you wanna screw off the past, I'm scared of you! Who do I go to, where do I go?
@PartVIII Man you know how it feels, i feel worse tonight. That man, if I wanted his ass to get up and go to beverly and leave me alone he would do it. He's a father complex, I wish he was the father complex he's 68 years old & he'd still kick my ass even though I can squat for 2000 or so I don't have any fun at all.
@PartVIII What, it's very fashionable to say that it's schizophrenia so I guess I'm unfashionable. Which would you rather: sleeping alot and staying on the subject or being more awa/sleeping in alot, and being awake, cos now I feel I've got a fairy friend out of childhood who got very anxious around people; and last eultide took the resolution "i don't like people" and my reply: this eultide is, mad chicken
@PartVIII Nothing that you knew what you were doing 'cept I've always known what I was doing doctor fratelli tells me gearld there's nothing wrong with you, you're so sane you're insane! I don't have no fun ever! You worked 30 years at chryslers well hell I got 15 years seeing your ether what are you talkin about? I don't have no fun at all.
i love the intro, but I can't seem to like his voice, it is too rusty and not singing at all. but that is the only bad thing I have, The intro and the rest is just super great, 4/5 rating from me (:
