EDIT: Whoops, Maleficent is from Sleeping Beauty! My bad!! This episode jumped around A LOT so I hope I explained it in a way that makes it easier to understand. Hope you enjoyed and let me know what you thought of that reveal! Woof woof!
That was amazing. I finished the episode very confused with my wife. And we jumped right into the RU-vid video and now I feel like the grounds under my feet and I’m ready for next week.
The most clever detail in the episode is the fact that Lilia says she was bad at tea leaves and that’s because even tho it was her first lesson she isn’t actually experiencing it until now at the end of her life. She was bad at tea leaves because she never actually learned how to do them until now.
Also she is the only good witch. There costume already highlighted who is the main character. The Traveler. Episode 6and 7 are best episode. ❤ The writing team really put a lot of thought into. Wanda Vision's writing was good but it seems like they mastered the mystery, puzzles in AAA. ( It's handled by same show runner. ) Loki 2 was good, now AAA hope MCU keep the track.
She’ll probably come back on the final episode as a ghost to remind Agatha about the deck she mention. “When she calls you a coward grab the deck” so she definitely planned this ahead as she mentioned the puzzle pieces are coming together.
That was DEFINITELY the best episode yet! I Ioved how the episode executed Lila's storyline and wrapped up her character arc in a wild, yet cohesive way via her time displacement abilities while at the same time focusing on the main story at hand. And that end, boy howdy, that ending! I felt tears hit my eyes when I saw Lila sacrifice herself for Agatha, Billy and Jen. DEFINITELY a 11/10 in my book! 😊
GUYS, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but every card has been interpreted by Lilia, except for the Death card. It was abruptly placed by Agatha on top of the Queen of Cups (which represents Lilia, adding to the foreshadowing of her death and her vision of falling to her death). The Death card in tarot represents the end of something, but also new beginnings. However, the card was placed neither upright nor reversed-it was placed sideways. This is interesting because the positioning of a tarot card determines its meaning or fate. For example, when Lilia made the Tower card upright, the tower, which is the location of the trial itself, also became upright-literally. But the Death card being placed sideways hints at Lilia’s uncertain fate-whether she is truly dead or will be resurrected. Their fate depends on the Road (symbolically represented by the table where the cards were placed, as part of the road itself). I hope the prize at the end of the road is them being together again, alive and complete, given that their trials and obstacles helped them find what was missing in their lives!
Don’t hurt yourself just enjoy the episodes lol. And the placement of the card was in distress. As you see this needed Lilia and not so much as about death It only revealed she’s alongside the road which we knew already. Agatha has most likely cheated her way out the road before however not this time since Billy has growingly held her accountable for a reason.
Agatha was famously a literal ghost on the Witches Road, acting as Wanda’s spirit guide in the comics. Would be fitting that Agatha dies. But I’m sure if that’s the case, it’ll be to save Billy’s life. And she’ll be allowed to visit him as a ghost to mentor him.
Perhaps the sideways placement of the card does mean uncertainty, but i think it's because Lilia experiences time in non-linear order. Earlier in the episode she tells Jen that as a child she experienced a lot of gaps and missing time. Perhaps much of that was already explained, but i would guess that Lilia is only now experiencing those gaps for the first time, meaning she's not truly dead yet from her point of view, she is with her mystra again and living in her past, for whatever little time she has left.
@@Scotty2Hotty1122 You don’t have to be rude, you’re literally on a video about dissecting this episode and examining details. No one is “hurting themselves,” people actually are enjoying themselves by sharing theories about the mystery. If you want to turn off your brain and mindlessly watch, be my guest, but it’s curious why you’re on a video like this.
@@lewismoreton4856 Great interpretation! I’ll just go with any theory where Lilia is alive, because she solidified herself as one of the most beloved characters in the series in this episode (FOR ME, JUST MY OPINION) 😭
Man Lilia seeing everything from the beginning and still going alone with the road is wild and heartbreaking, and she went out as a hero to the rest of the group
But that is because going down the road is what gets her back to her childhood where she is able to see things clearly. For us who see time as a straight line, Lilia died right after finishing her trial, but for Lilia who doesn't experience time like us, she is now a child & able to embrace her gifts & her coven as a result of what she just learned on the road.
Billy usually says what he wants to happen to use his powers in the comics just like when he says "I wish lilia was here" and she immediately falls through the door with Jen
Having the hourglass as the timer must have been important. When Lilia flipped the card and the tower, she also would have flipped the hourglass ⌛️⏳ which would reset her lifetime in a sense. So although she passes in this episode, her “time” is also reset like an hourglass being flipped, which was seen when she returns to her childhood at the end, returning to her lesson.
So Lillia appears to have the ability to see a person’s end. To see their death. And it seems as if she’s seen her own death since she was a child but chose to start ignoring it. Having seen so much death, she’s seen Lady Death countless times but didn’t know she was disguising herself as Rio? Lillia foresaw William Kaplan and Alice’s deaths. Did she also see the Salem Seven’s death? Did she see Sharon’s? This is so interesting.
It seems like Lillia has the ability to see the future as she lives it. More like she can move through time or herself from different timelines soooo having that in mind idont think she’s dead because she told Agatha to hit the deck when “she calls you a coward” so she must be present when that happens right?
@@ardoviv0ye but that is her spirit as the guide. And i think this is actually what is going to be because she is literally guiding them forward right before death and says things that are going to happen after death so its like spirit as our guide
@@ardoviv0 I think her ability to see into the future doesn’t necessarily mean she herself lives through it or is present at the moment her visions occur. I say that because she told Billy during her trial that she saw what was going to happen to him the night of his bar mitzvah implying that she saw him die and knew that he was going to become Billy Maximoff but she wasn’t actually there when he died. She also saw that her entire coven would become sick from the plague and die but it appears she herself wasn’t actually there at that time either or she would’ve died with them.
@@ardoviv0 I think she told Agatha, Billy, and Jen what she’s seen in her visions of the future to help her coven successfully continue on the road because she knew she would not be continuing on with them because her time had come to an end. At the beginning of the show, Lillia mentioned how they’d be facing their greatest fears and it was implied that Lillia’s greatest fear was death. She’s seen so much of it during her lifetime and has been afraid and running from it but this trial prepared her for death and she finally accepts it and was able to transition. I believe she’s definitely dead.
Everyone trash talk about this series even before the show even aired lol😂... This series is probably the most surprising TV show for MCU... Unexpected but fantastic... Two back to back successful projects for Marvel Deadpool and Wolverine and then Agatha...
It makes sense that her costume in an earlier episode resembled Hela's who is the Asgardian goddess of death. It's fun how they played with the comic costumes.
for sure perfect casting, shes hot and scary at the same time just like Death in Infinity Gauntlet. Super cool that they FINALLY incorporated her. Marvel should really do more dark stuff like this, Just heard they cancelled Blade and that's a huge bummer. I love superhero stuff, but going into more dark supernatural stuff would be a really cool way to battle the "superhero" fatigue everybody is experiencing, Agatha is a massive breath of fresh air in the MCU and I'd love it if they did more stuff like this.
Okay… But did anyone notice the song they played as the credits rolled? That was Quicksilver’s speed music when they first really showed off his superspeed talent in X-Men: Days of Future Past breaking Magneto out of prison.
Coincidence I think not especially now that Disney can actually use the word Mutant hopefully Evan Peters turns out to be Quicksilver but has amnesia or something
@CyberHaunter This is why fans get so many things isn't the " quicksilver" song it's Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce referring to Lilia perception of time. This is like when fortnight players assumed Mephisto was a hint for him to be in show because he was standing in ghostrider promotion reveal in the background peaking around the door. None of them knew ghostrider only exists because he made a deal with Mephisto. Watchings this video he got so much wrong. Biggest that death is the Villain. She isn't
Loved this episode, with the writing, editing, and acting to lead into an episode with non-linear storytelling and subtle foreshadowing. 9/10. Would've loved to see more of this power
Yep! Jac Schaeffer, the show runner really put lot of thought and care. It seems like we only saw the gleams of mystery with WV but getting it in full dose in AAA. The whole team did amazing job!
This was such a great episode! I love the writing. Lilia was one of my favorite characters. Everything she has ever said in the beginning tied to her ending. It was so sad when she died
please stop labeling Rio as the villain? She really isn't one. Agatha and Rio made it clear that she can't kill due to the rules; her role is to guide souls to the afterlife. Death isn't any more malevolent than a natural disaster or an illness; it simply exists. It's the one thing we all share-every journey ends with death, and that's just part of life.
@@trungdao7827 we know this isnt going to happen. That wpuld be the worst writing ive seen. The characters that died are dead. They wont come back- which is what i beleive the story is about. Finality. "We cant bring back the dead, no matter how much we want too" - wanda
You’re talking about death in a literal sense, and yes you’re correct, but narratively, it is pretty clear Death (Rio) is the main antagonist of the series.
Agatha's resemblance to Elvira Gulch was cracking me up. She even kept on pursing her lips beneath that largr humped nose as did Elvira Gulch, the wicked witch of the west. I loved that!
I don't think Lilia is dead. Hear me out : we don't see her body impaled and, above all, she warns Agatha about her future. The thing is that Lilia always see something that her future self is experiencing, so... In order to Lilia to know that she needs to be present in that moment of the future, isn'it?
See I didn't see this as sad for Lilia. For us who see time as a straight line, Lilia died right after finishing her trial. But for Lilia who doesn't experience time like us, she is now living life as her young self & able to embrace her gifts as a result of what she has learned on the road.
✨CRAZY THEORY✨ OK this might sound weird but I think everyone is getting their prize along their road , see Alice - she got the answer she was looking for about her mother and she killed her generational curse . See agatha - she got the power she wanted from Alice . See Lilia - she got the answer for her time jumping and eventually her answer to her constant visions of death. I don’t know about Jen and Billy but this is just a theory.
7:58 This ability is called chronoskimming. It's when you can transfer your mind/consciousness to your younger or older self. It's like time travel of the mind in the same body at different points in time. The problem was she couldn't control it because she never fully embraced her power because of fear.
I think that Lilia is referring to the preview of the episode when that object flies out of the house in Agatha hits the ground. That's what Lilia meant by saying “hit the deck! “
Maleficent is from Sleeping Beauty but yes a classic Disney fairytale. And Disney actually purchased the rights to the Oz franchise except it is only partial. Anyway, none of that matters just minor details. Great review! That’s guys!
Awesome Video Warren!!! This Episode was Absolutely Phenomenal and Definitely My Favorite One Yet. It was So Brilliantly Written and I Loved that we got to see it from Lilia's Perspective it was Such Clever Storytelling. I Loved how they intertwined all the moments from the previous Episodes where She was seeing into The Future. Patti LuPone was Phenomenal and deserves an Award for Her Performance in This Episode That Sacrifice at The End was Beautiful. R.I.P. Lilia. And That Lady Death Reveal was Insane!!! This Show just keeps Getting Better and Better Every Episode and I Can't Wait to see how it Ends!!! Woof Woof!
@@nitrozconcepts I think I like Wanda sticking with the Avengers then her own tv show the beginning of Wanda vision was kinda a 😬😬 until it got towards the ending
This was such a great episode. This series might be my favorite so far. Even knowing certain spoilers ahead of time they have been doing the reveals of things in such an unexpected way. I love it.
It has been stated that she has been ON the Witches' Road before but it was never clarified if she reached the end or not so while may have possibly been ON the Road she might not of FINISHED the Road.
@@johnnymanize yeah the last trial in trailer only shown agatha and billy, jen would neither died or cast out from the road (if we believed the scene trailer that jen came out from underground in the middle of houses' yard). but i hope she is alive
This series is really good and has been great at making you care about the characters we’ve only known for a short time while also building towards the future of the MCU. It’s really well done and I can’t wait for next week!
We didn't see Lilia die. The camera cut to black before she hit the swords. We did see Alice and Sharon die. Even saw their bodies after, not Lilia, though. There was also Quicksilvers theme playing after it cut to black. If there's one thing Marvel as taught me, it's if you don't see a body, they aint dead.
I really didn’t want the two who have died to die. They would have been so great in other areas of the MCU. Hopefully they’ll somehow bring them back as part of the multiverse. We barely got to know Lilia, and Patti Lupone is too much of a treasure to just toss her after one project. I’m really disappointed.
I do wonder if in Avengers 5-6 Agatha and her coven will appear or not. Atleast this much is confirmed that by A5 Doom will dispenser everyone in Battle world. I hope Strang and Clea recruits them.
You forgot to comment about this episode ending song "Time in the bottle" that we can relate to Evan Peter's Quicksilver at least as a homage to Peter Maximoff that is a twin of Scarlet Witch.
Now I wonder why Joe Locke said in an interview - this was the best episode of the series, no doubt in it now👌. What amazing writing, screenplay & direction.😊 Patti LuPone's acting as Lilia is top notch as usual in this episode.🙌 🔥 Especially the last part. The ending was so emotional.🥺
@@TheCosmicWonderyeah,the beginning of this series wasn’t that great, but this and the last episode have completely rationalized the reasoning behind making this show
Something extra touching is Jen saying “I’m not going before you” to Lilia… in the previous trials, Jen was wholly self focussed, pushed through to be first out of flooding, stayed in her protection circle…. but now we see her truly care only to lose Lilia. 😢😭
I had a feeling that there would be time travel in this show. I have a feeling that the end goal is perhaps to kill agatha, but these other witches may try to help her. I think billy will somehow begin to trust her or at least deal with her, help her against rio, and they go together to search for Tommy, wanda and maybe vision. Which at the end of the road they find info about where they are. Favorite Hero: Batman
@@kmtkmt1374If he did, he’d absolutely despise her. First she lets him and his brother die, and then she tried to replace them by moving to another universe. The MCU has WAY too many parental issues if you ask me
I don't think he hates her or anything. He doesn't have any memories with her to call her his mom. He don't even know who he is to begin with. He is totally confused. The only connection he have felt is with Tommy. Deep inside he still cares about wanda that's why he asked agatha about whether she is dead or alive.
I think that everyone in the coven has had their powers all along. Alice used her powers to try and save Agatha, Lillia could always use her gift of sight, Agatha can still absorb powers, and Billy clearly has his powers. I think that Jennifer will find out that she can use hers as well in the next 2 episodes. This entire series is based off of The Wizard of Oz and in that movie, when they finally meet Oz, each character realizes that they had what they wanted all along. Hence, Agatha All Along.
I don't think Jen will factor much into the final two episodes. In fact, the trailers clearly show her coming up from under ground, seemingly back in Westview. I think 'Death' will eject Billy and Jen from the road, which then ties in to the scene where Billy is re-opening the doorway to the road in Agatha's basement- as he races back to save her.
As for Agatha walking the rode before, it can be, but I will say she could have said she did, but who's to say she actually didn't walk it before. But she has studied about the rode and so knowing about how the rode works, that makes it different from walking it urself.
It does make sense though for Agatha to walk the road. She is power hungry. She can come this far to Wanda. Why won't she try her luck then? Knowing there's a short cut for immense power? I suspect in the finale we will see why she failed at the road and learning from the mistake.
I also love the detail of the branches glowing in the underground tunnel--like the sacred time line branching, another clever detail to time isnt linear. And Billy wishes Lilla was there and poof, they fall in--a hint at Billy's abilities?
It’s cool that Lilia’s costume is Glinda the good, maybe representing the good of her when she completed the trial and sacrificed herself to save everyone else.
yeah it has similar move just like time slip. i know her granny said that her job is to see. but i wonder it is truly same with loki or she just only see. bcz if it same with loki that alter his concious to his past or future body, then she would be alive since she saw agatha's future. but yeah if it not, it's ok i will accepted her death
