If Agathat Christie was alive to see David Suchet as Poirot, she would have fainted to see Poirot coming out of the Book in real human shape. That's how 100% David was in portrayal of Poirot.
Ukato Farticus One must notice that this show was British. So he also had to sound inbetween French/Belgian and English so one could understand what he speaks. Also David himself being British, he did his best to portray a foreigner.
I met David Suchet outside a theatre in London some years ago, he was so friendly & kind, he let me inside the stage door as it was very cold outside & he let have a couple of photos with him.
J C Oh I did the reverse as I've read all Agatha Christie books during my high school and college days, and then I saw this show. Every episode of his was portrayal was 100% match and that's beyond perfection. I could only tell that cuz I read all the book beforehand.
In my opinion, one of the best musical themes composed for film ever. Remembered it since childhood and keep coming back to listen every once in a while.
It's funny, we all love Suchet, as the only one who can play Poirot, and the Brits have some other guy, who they think of as the only guy who can play Poirot. I've never heard of him, nor will I bother.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 David Suchet is English and stopped doing Poirot of his own accord when he'd finished all the stories. I feel like I can speak for all us Brits when I say that we agree with you and Suchet is the best to ever play the part. Nobody thinks that anyone else is the only guy, not sure where you got that from.
"Miss Lemon dreams of the perfect filing system, besides which all other filing systems will sink into oblivion. This morning she’s close to the breakthrough."- the most hilarious Poirot quote ever!
Inspector Japp : I think you should wait for us in the car. Miss Lemon : No Thank you, I used to work in the Morgue during the war. Poirot : More Filing, Miss Lemon? Miss Lemon : Mr Poirot! 😂😂
People go on in interviews about how such and such actor "becomes his role" during a performance, but in David Suchet's case, there legitimately is no other way to describe it. My man's portrayal of Poirot is more of a real person than my own portrayal of myself in reality. This series will never be forgotten.
I always love that Belgian comic artists tend to use the "I'm BELGIAN not FRENCH!" as one of their joke. I bet Gosciny and Uderzo made at least one joke like that in their comic.
Such a master piece.. this show... takes me back to the time when I used to devour Agatha books...David suchet brings poirot to life in a way that nobody else ever could!! Thank you !!!
@@sknerus1234 both are great depiction of detective and mystery and i love them both. no need to compare. in fact, holmes' fans could easily refute your argument.
@@sknerus1234 Holmes doesn't use any so called "ways and tricks", he uses exactly his mind. Also nobody uses a "deduction" in detective fiction, neither Holmes, nor Poirot, not anyone. They all use abductive reasoning.
This show is my whole childhood ❤️ My mom used (and she's watching it right now) to watch Poirot, and I was so curious about it. I began to watch it to, and it was the best choice of my whole life. ❤️❤️
Same here. It was the "Dumb Witness" episode that hooked me up all those years ago when I saw it on TV. Finally I came back to finish the job. And what a journey it's been, mon ami!
Same 🙂 my mom was always big fan of Hercule Poirot. I remember the most the episode where they are somewhere in Middle East at excavation. The scene with flying mask in window always creeped me out 😄
Wow, this music brings back such memories. I've watched ALL of the episode with David Suchet more than once; indeed many times. From the time they were on PBS here in the US and then different sources. I miss them and need to start again. Nothing like them on television.
Christopher Cunning wrote the film score for the first 9 seasons including the main theme and contributed to the legend of POIROT. They don't make them like this anymore.
Absolutely wonderfultheme !It's so dark and mysterious ... Especially the piano part they plays in 1:24 !Just magical... Hercule Poirot will always be my favourite detective ,even if my family thinks that Christie's stories are cheap compered with Conan Doyle's ones ...I mean ... Sherlock Holmes is great (especially in the BBC 's series "Sherlock")but nothing compares to the Belgian fellow with the mustache ... David sushet brings him to life so well .I really have the time of my life watching in a new episode how efficiently and carefully Poirot makes the investigation...And when the mystery is finally solved and he gathers all the involved persons to analyze the facts with his spectacular certainty he is just magnificent! It's so exciting.. Every time I feel my little gray cells become a bit stronger...🕵️🌟💯🇧🇪🧠🕵️⭐💯🇧🇪🕵️🌟🤩🎆💯🇧🇪🕵️🌟💯🧠🕵️🇧🇪💯🧠🇧🇪🎆🤩🧠
@@dr.mamatarevankar8857 to be fair thats not true...Actually christies books are not even litterature ...But still I prefer Poirot than Sherlock Holmes ...
"Clever mysteries, need not a clever detective, but an extraordinary one, who makes the clever mystery, as mundane as a children's bedtime story." --Me.
@@AndresGarcia-ul1wk "You need not a Clever Detective, but an extraordinary one." I am saying the detective needs to be beyond clever, he needs to have a sort of omnipotence in his solutions to the crime.
If the Dallas Symphony scheduled a “Great TV Themes” night, I would definitely buy a ticket, if they included this, All Creatures Great & Small, the Vicar of Dibley, and Jeeves & Wooster. Great great music!
I heard from my mom (an Agatha Christie fan) that she actually hated Poirot and wanted to stop writing him, but fans loved him so much that she kept going with him.
"Mon ami, you have an insight into the criminal mind, which I myself lack. You show me what the criminal wishes me to believe. It is a great gift.” “Insight,” I said thoughtfully. “Yes, perhaps I have got insight.” I looked across the table at Poirot. He was smoking his tiny cigarettes and regarding me with great kindliness. “Ce cher Hastings,” he murmured. “I have indeed much affection for you.”
Poirot was the highlight of my childhood. Still go back to the series for the impeccable acting and amazing cinematography. Thanks for sharing the theme song!
it was one of my wonderful and lovely mother in law favorite show ... everytime i hear this soundtrack.. it s for me impossible not to cry. She was amazing.. lovable and nicest person i ve ever wanted in my life.. and God.. decided to take her away from me... she was such a blessing . Love you mum... everywhere you are.. ( watchin .. poirot i am sure with the angels )
I first saw an episode about a month ago, on a complete lark. Its the episode where Poirot is at a all girls academy and a princess goes missing. Ive been on a mission to grow that mustache ever since i saw it on hd. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the episode...I must watch more of this masterpiece.
I came across this ‘show’? When on holiday. There was no internet there so I was searching through the basic tv channels they have and found this. I have to say it’s really good.
Che grande dispiacere ! Innamoratissima di Poirot il primo gennaio 2020 ho trovato tutti i films eliminati ! Come posso ancora vederli ? Che tristezza...
I haven't watched Poirot in years and yet, today, I can't stop whistling the theme tune! Had to come listen to it to see if I can get it out of my head.
My absolutely favourite series, and very glad that it's quite long. Suchet is perfect for the character, and the entire cast and settings are genius as well. Lovely.
