That’s really neat! I like that the agave fibers are probably the by product of making agave sweeteners. Hahnemule is always coming out with interesting papers. Thanks for introducing this to us Marty!

Hi Marty, so nice to learn about a new paper from Hahnemühle. Your video reminded me of that extreme test you did with the Stonehenge paper. That was funny! 😁Anyway, the Agave paper looks appealing and it is affordable, too. I think I will purchase a block with my next order. I need to get me some drawing supplies; yup, I got into drawing portraits. It's so fascinating! Interesting how you started with watercolour and then drew the face with the fineliner! Love your tree painting, too, of course. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️✨

What no washing machine no car wash no letting dry out the window of a moving car…..is this really a test? Okay, just kidding I still laugh at that video, it was sooo funny. The Agave paper l🐼ks so interesting. I would really like to try it. I am just happy to be sitting here. We were so close to a partial lowering of a tornado, I still shake thinking about it. Luckily for our community it went back into the cloud and stayed there until the storm dissipated. Being from Oklahoma I know all to well what they can do. Okay back to your video, the second Korean paper seemed to take the Pitt pen a little better than the tube paint. It will be great to see the follow up on it. Take care and be safe! Essie

I'd like to see that Hanji paper put to the test. When I was in Junior High, my family and I lived in the Mojave Desert at Edwards AFB. There was a variety of agave plant that was everywhere in the desert.

Hi Donna - I had no idea you could make paper from this plant, very cool. When you lived in the desert did you ever think they'd make paper from this plant? Hope you are great Donna.

@@owingsart while I never considered paper being made from agave, it is not a far stretch to imagine that it could be done. In ancient times, writings were done on papyrus which was a thick paper made from the pith of the papyrus plant - Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge.

I prefer eco/animal products so these are going to be fun to try. It will be a long time until I paint well enough to worry about heavy scrubbing. Tried to leave a comment on your website about how much I love your trees. They always bring me a sense of calm.

Hi Marty, lovely review! The agave paper looks pretty cool, I want to try it as well at some point. Have you tried the hahnemühle bamboo as well? How does the agave compare to it?

Both papers were really impressive and I'm glad Scott at Wet Paint told me about them. Things are good here. All vaxed, and hopeful this nightmare will end for the rest of the world soon. How are you Shannon?

Hi Marty! Thank you for sharing this. What is the bristle brush that you used to scrub the agave paper with? What are the bristles made of?

I'm finding very difficult to adapt to this paper.. everytime I try to draw something with pencil and (I promise) gently lighten it up with the eraser gum the fibers are lifted up and ruin the next steps 🥺

Oh no, sorry to hear this. Have you tried different erasers? Maybe a plastic eraser or instead of rubbing I sprinkle eraser shavings on the paper are rub them around lightly. The fibers are sensitive to erasure so it’s tricky, not like other papers.
