I am lucky. My husband treats me with respect. He will buy me a small gift nothing expensive or a flower just to say thank you for all you do for me when I least expect it. We will be shopping and take me to a new sandwich shop or restaurant. He has always helped me around the house. He will vacuum or help dust or wash dishes. He cares for me when I get ill. When our boys were small he was a great father. He helped with them. We both worked outside the home. I always let him know that I appreciated anything he did to help me. Now we are old and still help each other. We have been married 52 years this coming June.

I think they were not meant to be. They got married when she was still finding herself as a person and they didn't form any friendship as she said which is the most important thing for a marriage to last. So they moved on and she found her true soul mate who is also her best friend. And Gere is happily married to a Spanish woman with two kids together so that was their destiny just not for each other. Sometimes in life you have to try something out to find out if it works or not

I’m pretty sure if he had been a man like her husband is, they'd still be together regardless of age gap. Always liked Cindy Crawford! She has stood the test of time! I saw her on all kinds of fashion mags in the 80s when I was a teen! She's a great business woman and knows how to take care of herself! She's done very well for herself!! In the fashion industry its more than looks! As you get older you got to expand and grow when time is up! Cindy hung in there! You go Cindy!!😉😉😉😉

I met them both while working at a hotel in Tokyo, Japan back in 1991. She was very quiet, and he was very friendly. He came back to the hotel a couple more times after that on his own. He was probably my favorite celebrity guest. He was very down-to-earth. We all loved him at the hotel.

Sadly, females are not just fashion accessories. He didn't have to marry her. She explained to him that the alternative was that they would just move on. If she wanted a family and he did not, that would be a major difference between them. Females have to make a calculation, if they want a family, because their fertile years are more limited than men's.

I think Richard thought he could mold her into his perfect mate and at first she was willing, but he just kept getting more and more cutting in his criticisms of her. She’s not the Stepford wife type. He brutally criticized her for not pronouncing (or maybe it was spelling) the word ephemeral correctly. He’s a high maintenance type through and through. Now he’s with someone from a totally different culture who is not likely to react to his passive aggressive behavior or even recognize it as such.

Opting for tinfoil rings for a marriage ceremony was already a disaster, to start with. In the first place, she tried to hook him by giving an ultimatum because he was famous. She learned her lesson and with her looks, she could easily find a new partner. They had different interests and there was no friendship. She admitted it. They were not compatible.

Cindy Crawford was a huge star in her own right when they started dating. Probably the highest paid supermodel at that time. It’s a grave error to say she wanted to marry him because he was famous. She wanted to be married and if it wasn’t with him, it was going to be with someone else. I agree that the unconventional marriage didn’t help, it seemed she was still setting for less than what she really would have like. I think if your not the exception, marriage kills love. Slow or fast. Men tend to have the idea o nce they have married you , you belong to them like a vehicle. Love dies, it requires attention. It can be different for each couple. I don’t believe marriages is hard unless you married a person that smacks right into one of your walls. When our first child was born it changed nothing in my husbands life and everything in mine. Postpartum depression is terrifying.

You can speak for yourself lol marriage creates a stronger bond between the two. You become as one and do everything together as a team and share life together. It's more intimate and special even your name changes. At least for the women. Marriage is life changing and it may not be for everybody. But marriage it's suppse to unite you even to a stronger bond. It's never meant to destroy your relationship. Some people are just not mature enough or they didn't know what they were getting into. It's another level a more serious one. Even gay people had to fight for that right to be able to marry. Marriage is valuable and worth it.

Still think at 42 years he can wear aluminum foil rings shows how much he grew up. He didn't. True there's no need to follow the rules. But it shows they had so much to get to know more. True ppl who don't know themselves much or haven't understood the world will have definitely have issues in age gap (17 is still too much). I think she was so fresh on the modelling stage. He was older and distinguished and has tons of appeal. She was exotic & very hot. I was a young teenager when Cindy and Richard were together, and sad when they broke up. Whilst Cindy has still remained looking attractive and hot (no doubt with the help of some surgery), Richard has not aged as well. I like when couple's who separate are open about what went wrong, and not just sugar coat it like 'Oh we are still the best of friends' etc.

Age has nothing to with it. The moral Character of each person within the relationship is what guides the marriage. Her “giving up her power” is biblical. Wives are suppose to be submissive. The man IS the “head of the home” and is the “one in charge”. The PROBLEM ONLY COMES in when a woman marries a man who is not seeking Gods will, but seeking his own instead. When a woman marries a man seeking to please God over himself...she has no worries. Because he WILL love her above his own self. I am experiencing this right now. I have been submissive to one man for 35 years. I have not had to give up “who I am” to do it either. And he treats me like a precious gift there is only one of in the entire world. It’s Gods plan. And Gods plan is ALWAYS better than our own.
