I like how the French units spoke Popular Latin at the beginning and their language evolved with time to finally be speaking Old French.

I'm Italian, I can understand most of what they say until the second age, after that it's french 😂. The way they speak in the second age sounds like a Northern Italian dialect, that really shows that French is a Latin language, even though nowadays doesn't sound like one;I personally love it.

@@shrektheswampless6102 France has seen its fair share of linguistic influences from its neighbors, especially those from Germanic countries such as England and Germany, that may explain why French is the Latin language that deviated the farthest from Latin.

Yeah it makes it more immersive, you truely feel the evolution of the society, at the beginning you could be a Gallo-Roman in the *Kingdom of Soissons* en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Soissons , then a frankish citizen under Charlemagne, then a french under Francoys I
