Age of Empires 4 - Leenock's French Takes On Hera 

Former sc2 pro entering the aoe4 scene feels like when Zlatan joined the MLS.

As an HRE main, I always like to pull for them when watching these casts. Despite Drongo putting them as a high A-tier in his last list, they seem like a middle B at best. What is their win rate in these high level games? 40%? Sure, they may have the highest ceiling of all the civs with their Palace of Swabia, but they hardly ever make it into Age IV. I would have loved to see Hera try a Meinwerk Palace into Burgrave Palace strategy this game. The two work very well together and really help propel the HRE through ages II and III, especially going up against a civ like the French who you already know are going to press you with knights. Would that have been enough to get him into age IV? Maybe, maybe not. He was playing against Leenock, after all. But it still would have been cool to see the attempt.

I remember when I was 16 back in 2008, it was 3am on a school night and I was in an MLG match for Gears of War. Then all of a sudden my mother stepped in front of the TV with a sledge hammer and asked me if I had done my homework. I responded by trying to look past her and she pointed at the window with the hammer and said “you have two choices, the hammer or the window. You should choose to go to bed.”

How do I join the ladder presented in this casted game? When I look at games available in online multiplayer, there are no ranked games so how do I gain access to the ladder ranking the players in this video?

Everytime you cast Hera playing HRE he loses. It's almost like he doesn't understand that you HAVE to fully commit to feudal age and apply pressure as HRE, no one is ever going to let you fast castle.

Is this a relatively new thing for people to become huge fans of casters & follow them? I know nfl casters and such gain fame but I’m not sure if it’s to this extend

Hera is the bestt tho

HRE so hard to play until castle - especially against Feudal knight. They have to make spearmen better at taking out knights, or create a pikeman whose slower but has more armor against bows or something.
