Though the introduction is quite hard. I'm not sure if new players are going to want to play with without a learn-to-play campaign. Even for people who play AoE1, it's still a big difference.

Man! I can vouch. I was so saddened when at some point in the past I wanted to revisit my childhood favourite and had to do a lot of workaround to make it even playable. Fast forward to now, the series has hit it's second prime. Love never dies.

About that... The game has been review-bombed on Steam right now for not shipping with original campaigns. Bugs on pathfinding and lack of tutorial for AOE2 players coming to this DLC does not help the rating either. Looks like waiting for a patch or two then the Steam/Publisher Sale would be a way to go at this time of writing. It took a year and a half of patches and improvements before AOE3 DE become good so this might be similar case.

Now officially AoE2 has more ancient civilizations than AoE1. And now I believe that there will be 2 civilizations of Romans, the Byzantines and the Romans. It would have been the perfect time to rename them: "Eastern Roman Empire" for the Byzantines and "Western Roman Empire" for the Romans.

I'm really glad they introduced a vietnamese civ. AoE 1 is still, to this day, extremely popular in Vietnam, just like the og StarCraft is still played in South Korea. Now we only need the new(ish?) AoM and continuous support for AoE 4 and the golden age of RTSs will be back in no time!!

My soft spot for history will always be : ROME ! From architecture and art ( visited rome) Over language, history and military culture ( latin in school+ extra course on roman culture/military) And even roman law ( one semester during university when studying law ) Rome is still fascinating and echoes in our world today. (F the middle ages 😂)

im enyoing this game so much since this last dlc. Reviving my childhood memories with AOE 1 and 2 in just few clicks. Amazing. Would also love if you could include the original OST for AOE1 and 2 as optional track to choose from. I think you should think about that.

Updating my game now, I wonder if they replaced the Romans in the Alaric mission 4 The Giant Falls. Almost reached the achievement but managed to complete it in 30:25 minutes. The ally ai can be random at times and annoying.

Years ago I played the original game from 1997 in the 2000s. Now that we can play it in Age of Empires 2, it will be a good experience. The best thing is that we can finally create entrances in the camps, because yes, I played AOE 1 of 2018 and I remember that I hated that the enemies easily entered my camp. And I couldn't even get out if he enclosed me with walls. In addition, when I played Attila's campaign I realized that in only one of the missions did Roman units appear correctly characterized, when they attack us in large numbers after destroying Chalons.

Arambai is not for burmese , Arambai is used by Meitei warrior in Kangleipak kingdom now known as Manipur state in India , Burmese scared everytime when they saw arambai tenngol , tenggol means army armbai means weapon they use.

DEVELOPERS MUST UNDERSTAND that ROME NEVER GETS OLD for it is ETERNAL. ROMA AETERNA EST. So ANCIENT Rome is ALWAYS good theme for VIDEOGAMES or MOVIES
