If Don had attacked with just a couple less hoplites, he would have taken out FitzBro's TC before the heroic age, and probably won. They had no other TC to age up in, and wouldn't have been able to build the fortress, manticore, or petroboli.

@@Yodesla I didn't have the beta, so not sure. Either way, I don't think he had a village centre either, so the time and cost of building one, then doing the entire research over again, would have been more than enough for him to be defeated.

@@Yodesla No u cant (at least not in the beta) Vill center can only train workers, but nothing else. So he literally would have won if he attacked like 15 secs earlier. Insane game

Wow Fitz Bro really nailed it, if Zeus Hoplites didnt have extra dmg to structures, he probably wouldve even be able to defend his base with the manticore spwam. GG!

what is a village center? O.O never heard of it. everyone talks about the new norse building but no one about the village center??

Isn't that a bug? Village centers should only be able to be build on certain spots on the map.

@@UnderKingDuck Yep in retold village centers are a new thing -- basically a town center that doesn't give population and trains villagers more slowly, but can be built anywhere! (the regular old town center still exists, and can only be built on settlements)

Another B.S. cheese strat the devs have to nerf. The TC rush is hardly a genius or innovative play, people have been TC rushing using Persians in AOE2 for 2 decades. The abundance of misusing defensive structures for offensive play (castle drops, TC rushes) is why I stopped playing AOE2 and switched to AOE3, where it isn't allowed. If I have to deal with this strat often in 1v1 ranked I won't play AOM.
