Age Of Mythology Retold Is Everything I Needed 

Most disappointing thing is the videos beta text not fully hitting the sides of the screen. i really wanted to see it hit a corner....

just a little precision, the engine is not the old age of mythology engine its the engine used for the remake of age of empire 3.

It is just shame the Portraits and the VA are both so horrible. They really should just keep the original. The artist who done many of the artwork of the gods honestly has some of the best art out there, the difference between original Zeus and the cheap MOBA knockoff Zeus in the reborn I think highlights the change the most.

It looks even better than my nostalgic memories.

Petition for mods to return the original voice actors

Voice acting is weaker then in the original, but mods will fix that. The rest is just great.

They moved the troyan dock. No seriously, the docks on mission 3 used to be on the right and left corners of the landmass, with the southern corner that has a base now being an empty settlement that served as an expansion. Not sure how I feel about the change.

The UI doesn't even tell you which God you are, or what map you are on. UI needs a lot of love.

I wasn't a fan of the cartoonish looking style until I played the game then I fell in love with it. Those animations when attacking and breaking down buildings! Love it! Thank you for acquiring the i.p and working on it, I know for all of us who loved playing age of mythology back in the day and have played the campaign over and over again over the years will love this, thanks again xbox game studios and the devs.

Remastered? It's not a remaster my friend, it's a remake. The devil lies in the details. 😉🙂 They used the engine of aoe3: DE for this - with some upgrades like raytracing.

My only complain would be the voice acting and the lackluster cutscenes showed during the beta

The intro XD just him singing XD childhoods are wild but ey I gotta say I watched people play this and it COULD be better and also the music is offtune sometimes doesn't mean I hate it but it bugs me since I'm also a more musical person 😅

New Arkantos and Athena voice acting is so horrid and emotionaly flat compared to the original, i hope it's just a temporary placeholder.

I really hope that along with fixing the pathing, they should fix the attack button. I booted the old AOM and realized that the A-move attack click on the ground doesn't get the units to attack like they should in AOE2. Sometimes, I have to do it twice or 3 times before it works. And occasionally, the units just take time attacking the nearest wall section to kill time. I hope they also fix that. I also hope that the devs would stop the units attacking adjacent wall sections and gates if they finished destroying one. Also, the rate of fire from the siege ships seems to be on par with the arrow ships. Shouldn't they be a little bit slower ?

I tried to get into aoe2 years ago… I went into it full thrust, then only to discover that people with steppe lances was an automatic win. (Steppe lances were absolute unbalanced and busted). Matchup without them, and I would win… but too many picked them for obvious reasons and I quit. I haven’t been able to get back into it again, because how daunting it was to learn everything from scratch. I’m taking baby steps into learning Warcraft 3, but I’m certainly gonna give AoM a whirl! It was there in my childhood, I just didn’t pay too much attention to it at the time, even though I knew it had a cult following.

I wish you couldn't zoom out so far... something about it ruins the experience.

My biggest question would be if they removed any content. Age of empires 3 definitive edition had entire portions of dialogue of a woman native character which made me scratch my head because I remembered her playing a bigger role in the story. I hope the story is left untouched because i want to experience it as it was in the original gane.

It's so good. Maybe even better than Aoe2 DE in term of new features. Infinite god powers, empower for other surround buildings with one monuments, infinite favors, etc... The only thing i see it lack is the healing. Greek one again lack the healing unit beside temple of healing (Poor Poseidon again), while Loki and Odin players must choose Foresti/Freyja if they want to heal. And Egypt healing now even more baddass than before, especially with Isis.

4:20 Pathfinding is fine. Just like the Old game. Arkantos didnt go for the kraken because it was in the water, arkantos couldnt hit it as he is melee while the kraken has extra range. When you moved Arkantos a little bit inland the kraken had to come to you, allowing Arkantos to reach him. The wall hydra, One attacked the GATE, because of how big their hitboxes are, they cant go besides each other. If you ordered the other to move aside it would have enough space. But what i do genuinly love are the new missions. I have the original physical copy with the atlantians. Some of the missions you showcased i never played. Never had the chinese expansion. Maybe they are added there? But i do love the graphical overhaul. But i do dislike the 2d Portraits when the characters talk.

Worth to mention that you can now rotate buildings before you place them on default, which i believe was only possible through mods in the original from 2002, so i am happy they did that in Retold.

The helmets for the hoplite is not accurate. in warfare the brushes would be facing side ways as to not block a line of sight of other soldiers in the formation behind

The only problem i have with it is the keybinds and the camera scroll speed. Keybinds get broken af if you rebind and camera scroll speed from edge scrolling is soo goddamn fast.
