All rumours are rumours until we have confirmation from Games Workshop, but this is one from discord I wanted to share with you all. What are your thoughts?
Most of it seems pretty sensible. Beastmen being transferred entirely to TOW without getting a revamp in AoS seems not realistic. They are featured in a lot of books etc. GW would need to have an in world event to get rid of them.
If anything they may just make a new Beastmen faction with brand new model range and send the old models over to the OW. So far GW has been producing a lot of new factions and returning armies back into their games, I highly doubt they are just going to get rid of a whole faction from their game just yet.
I can’t understand GW bureaucracy at all. I started collecting Age of Sigmar precisely because I like old school fantasy miniatures, but don't like the overly generic Old World setting and the square "rank-and-file" game. Vintage orcs on round bases, that's what I started with. Then the GW killed the Greenskins faction. Then city elves, soon dwarves. Then the Beastmen. This is so bad. RESUME: for me it would be totally OK if Age of Sigmar and ToW are use the same miniatures, but different games and settings. And bases
I agree with a lot you say here, I am also happy with using the same miniatures across games on different bases. Fingers crossed something comes out of the bag and helps
My preditction with the Chaos Dwarfs is that GW will rerelease all of the 2010 Forge World range in plastic, with some new units being thrown in. They already said they aren't bringing Chorfs back to the Old World (and re-releasing the old sets for that game would be as straightforward as what they've done with Tomb Kings and Bretonnia), and there hasn't been anything even vaguely chorf-looking on the rumour mill pics at all. Plus the Forge World range all had fantastic, fresh-looking models, none of them looking outdated!
imo it is not possible to remove a whole faction in 4th edition of the game. It would be sooo bad. Beastmen are a big part of the lore 2. Like any other faction. Same with Aelfs and duardin in CoS. Thay can redo them, but not skip them. Cities have 2 characteristic thngs- beeing normal dudes in world with gods an dmonsters AND beeing a multiracial cooperation. The other is as important as 1st. Takinf this away will kill this faction for me
I agree it’s not great to take away a faction. But it seems like there a quite a few in agreement it will happen. I love the beastmen aesthetic and I also love the idea of mixed cities and I think that should be celebrated. I genuinely hope they surprise everyone and keep them going
@@knightofthetabletop yea. With latest GW moves removing stuff like most used crisis battlesuit weppon option to legends or whole wanderers range from CoS... it might happen. Though with Wanderers you can at least use them as CoS Dark Aelfs i suppose. Still removing this from Coties would make them very meh for me. As for Beastmen- i hope they can think of sth that will make them stay. At least combine them with StD, but make them stay somehow
The 'Sigmar lied' video gives me one idea. What could the Skaven do that could relate to Sigmar 'lying'? I think they're going to invade Azyr. Sigmar's 'lie' would be that Azyr is safe.
I have seen a few theories - one being as you say about Azyr being safe (which I think could be an amazing concept another could be just about the reforging process and the ruination chamber. Hopefully we find out a lot more on the 20th!
I was going to say this but you beat me to it This has been a thread they set up all the way back in the original release books and lore from AoS 1 and they've never done anything with it The fact that heaven is not impenetrable, and theoretically, Sigmar could have saved people earlier even with the main doors of Azyr sealed would be a massive lie to many of the mortal worshippers of Sigmar. Could potentially drive many "sigmarites" towards "Chaos", perhaps even having a throughline that perhaps they misunderstood their Chaos overlords
Of the predictions here, the only one I disagree with is Aqshy as the setting That was AoS 1 (alongside Ghyran) I think the trend of Underworlds predicting the next setting will continue and that we'll likely be heading to Ulgu If you look at the setting where the trailer is located, it's kinda dark and shadowy (although to be fair -- it could just be nightfall ANYWHERE in the mortal realms)
