I found it a struggle to fill core allocation in this army. I'm assuming you can't take boar-boy and chariot if you have a black orc general. Goblin wolves are too cheap. I don't have 30 of them!
I just picked up the Seraphon spearhead, also have 3 friends who also picked up some spearhead and we have planned a little weekend trip to Nottingham in august. gives us some time to get some awesome looking minis on the table and gives us a good launch platforms to grow our armies. AoS 4.0 is exciting times
I picked up the Vanguard box. This faction looks like a lot of fun. The D3 (sometimes 2D3) healing might not look like much, but it will happen on your attack turn, as well as your opponents attack turn. That's a lot of healing.
@@knightofthetabletopI mainly play a huge grave guard army see g the new Deathly passive is very nice. I guess I need to see if the Mortis Engine will keep its Nexus of Death power
For me, it was a no brainer, The rule of cool dino army was for me. I picked up the Vanguard box, happened to have a box of Kroxigor so all I need is a box of Aggradon Lancers and the veteran on an Aggradon and I'm at 990 points. Not sure about the last 10 points though.
So, allopex has bites on a basic 4+ and you can add to this +1. My question would be: could we improve this further somehow in a 4th edition? Will it be possible to achieve 2+ 2+ (for hit and wound rolls)?
I think until we see the full rule set we don’t know - I would like to think we would be able to and I haven’t seen anything saying we cannot stack as of yet.
The grandfather's true gift is the immunity to his gifts, you spread them and thus you continue thr cycle. Nurgle is plague, but through the death there is rebirth. Praise nurgle lord of rebirth!
@knightofthetabletop pox walkers don't receive the same pain nullification that worshippers of Nurgle recieve. They feel every spark of pain caused by the rot inflicted upon their bodies, and the wounds inflicted upon them by their former allies. They're also completely conscious, and have zero control over their bodily functions after being inflicted with the pox walker virus, meaning their conscious minds are forced to take a back seat view and watch as they slaughter their families and battle brothers, many of whom they may have been fighting alongside mere hours before. I can see the stretch for those that become numb to the pain of their own changes, or gain any of the other boons granted to worshippers of Nurgle. But knowing that specific affliction completely throws me off. That and the heresy of it all.
This is a smooth-brained take on Nurgle’s ”love”. It is love, yes, but it is a love utterly uncaring of how the object of that love might feel about it. It’s the love of a dangerous obsessive stalker
Overall a much better design than the last edition. I get that they were trying to create more distinct subfactions for cities but they over corrected far too much. They came off as basically allies that just used the same book they were so separate. This is a far better blend. Spells working on all cities units and certain heroes (Like Vedra) affacting all units regardless of city race is better overall. In addition its also obvious they did that in order to encourage you to buy the new Freeguild line last edition, so went out of their way to separate the sub-factions. Now they are more willing to make all the subfactions viable again.
I honestly think drop the profit margins and you will get more players and down the line more profit but players aren’t getting hit in their pocket. I would pick up so many more armies if it were slightly cheaper but cannot justify it
We have 4th edition coming soon - so until the full rules drop I can’t completely comment. If you do get the box now you can play spearhead immediately after it drops and it will still give you a decent mix of units.
The one thing you missed and totally glossed over was the new Key Word: WarMachine Gloomspite Gitz on the Loonshrine, how are people not more excited about this, unless it applies to Giant Spiders, but to me sounds like new models incoming.
Their OG army is just beautiful: Tyrian purple, gold, and silver. Their lore, being the Emperor's herald and the ones to bear the palatine Aquila, strives for perfection be it as diplomats, artists, leaders, or warriors. It would be so awesome if GW brings back Clonegrim, a renegade good guy trying to rebuild the EC. You can build a loyal classic EC army in the 40k setting.
If you have a good place for it (out of the way and ability to ventilate).....yeah. We're at the point that a high quality printer & setup can be bought for less than most 2000pt armies. And while it does have a bit of a learning curve at first....what doesn't in this hobby (honestly I find printing 10x easier than glazing/blending XD)
They had a good run, I loved the island of blood box. But yep the new Skaven are unreal - quite possibly the most excited I’ve been for a release in a long long time.
It’s crazy! It makes it harder to get newer people into the game. I believe combat patrols/spearheads etc should be even cheaper (give us better discounts) even if normal unit boxes aren’t cheaper. The discount is a real feel good but also it brings those newer players in
