I love me some aged white tea, for me Shou Mei always seems to be thicker and sweeter on my palette which is something i search for. Most of my whites are treasures now, even my serenity cake is getting there as well

I first got tea drunk on a ripe puerh, then an gushu raw puerh, and recently i tried an aged white tea, and they all get me there, but each has subtly different effects; the ripe mellowed me out to the point where it was like microdosing, the raw is energizing but focusing, and the aged white just knocked me on my ass!

For sure, I remember first mellowing out on Ripe pu'erh. I thought with it being dark like coffee it'd energise me in the morning, but it ended up having the opposite effect 😅

After discovering white tea 5 years ago, i had significantly reduced the consumption of oolong and pu-er tea. Just loved my shou mei, gong mei, mu dan and occasionally the white peone.

Nice. I have to admit, I'm still drinking mainly oolong and raw pu'erh but, am also drinking more aged white teas than I used to, especially if they're ones that have a little more strength in them

Good video! I have a cursed trick for Shou Mei tea, sort out the larger leaves and stemps and break them up into pieces (don't crush to powder though), then remix them with the smaller unbroken leaves. It helps provide more body to the earlier infusions at the expense of the later infusions (7+). Your Serenity cake has changed substantially since I bought two by the way, a good pressing

Nice, glad you're enjoying that cake. The new ones are 2019, still nice but are a little younger so you've got something special there. Good tip with the Shou Mei, mixing in crushed leaves and full leaves can give you interesting results
