So, I know it's a show designed for no one with knowledge, but if I saw the first 40 seconds correct, he finds a area of brush, that looks disturbed and then spots a ricochet impact on a tree, which leads him to look straight down and find a casing for a 9mm, now all guns have a bit different behavior but typically your casing would eject a good bit away from your firing position unless you're next to an object or prone, but a glock for example kicks a casing like 3-4 feet on average (when I have fired em). Also props to this agent for knowing exactly what manufacturer imprint on the butt of a casing is Russian, or Ukrainian, or Yugoslavian, or Bulgarian, etc etc, it doesn't say "Product made in Russia or USSR" on the bullets, a 9x39 typically just says 9x39 has the manufacturer imprint and that's usually it.
It's California. Some of them wanted to visit Venice Beach, the others wanted to go to Hollywood. They got angry, vodka was involved.. and they had guns and explosives and took exception to the idea of Americans playing Tour Guide. Nah, really, I haven't seen this episode, I'm just pulling your leg.
Well, NCIS: LA is about the Office of Special Projects, or something like that. It's justified to be like this. Regular NCIS is the Major Case Squad, so they do all the police work stuff.
